Am i the only one who doesn't like Uiroid that much? Rather than a vocaloid she looks and sounds identical to her vtuber counterpart so at that point it just feels like i'm listening to a Shigure Ui song. I remember a thread on UtaForum (or maybe it was Vocaverse or VO?) where they would speculate who voiced the English voicebanks. It's funny how we know more about the Japanese VPs than the English ones considering the Japanese tend to be more of privacy freaks than Europeans.

The songs from back then: Meltdown, Rolling Girl, World is Mine, etc. I don't think they were being made to go viral as they don't have the elements we constantly see in modern Vocaloid songs.

A lot of you don't understand that Ritsu IS big. He's on VoiceVox, ACE, UTAU, and many others. People still reach out to Canon to have her voice Ritsu in their software. So the fact that we got this Q&A at all is wild and doesn't rule out having Mayo or other major VPs in future ones.
The Q&A had me thinking about how different it seems to be a JP-side vocaloid fan vs. EN-side. I think a lot of us expect ourselves to be listeners, illustrators, vocalists, and voice configurers all in one since we have this feeling of needing to build a creative EN community from scratch. On the other hand I was blown away by the level of unique activity in the original Ritsu creation thread even in the pre-2012 era. It seems more OK in that situation to not cover all fandom niches, although there are some exceptions. It makes me feel even more strongly that the core reason why the EN side is less creatively productive isn’t for lack of effort or enthusiasm, just that those pieces aren’t coordinated. To me that’s part of why websites like this are so valuable.

I know that all the VIPPERloids and the majority of fanloids coming from the Japanese side of the fandom were created on 2ch (now 5ch) but did anything come out of Futaba Channel? With Nijiura having created OS-Tan and the Nijiura Maids I'd be surprised if nothing Vocaloid related has come out of it.
