Two fucking threads in a row derailed by the ESL tetofag and the "flower is a granny" ragebaiter. And on top of that they're giving them (You)s. 4/jp/ is a lost cause, no wonder this site is more active than the general over there.
>>4051 literal love at first sight for me. it's a nice place where other people are just as autistic about vocaloid as i am, which i can't find anywhere else on 'normal' social media. newfags are okay, i think that any fan is a real fan, but it's nice to talk to people who actually know who sonika is, y'know? (even if i did have to force myself to learn how to use IBs lol)
>>4053 imagine if someone is sabotaging that thread so they come here instead oooohh someone's gonna get in troubleeee
>>4065 They don't anymore once he said he considers Miku 16.
>>4063 The lyrics might be about Mikuteto, about the current trends and state of vocaloid in regards to Teto and Miku, or just some cute Teto things for the background/story that'0s not as relevant.
>>4080 I know, but it still has a bit of a synthy sound, for example, the Dreamtonics vocals, while similar, still have a lot of ways to tell they're fake. I don't like Solaria or Galenaia because they sound too real. I do like HXVOC, Asterian, and Nyl though.
>>4099 yeah his voice hasn't really been all that affected by it which is pretty amazing, usually it drops quite significantly so he must be doing voice training
>>4119 Don't have it but the creator locked it behind a dicksword server and i'm not joining a dicksword server just to hear Teto sing the funny painter's name
>>4127 >Welcome to vocaloid Fuck man i miss when mmd animations were like this It feels like all of them are genshin impact dance videos now Where is the love
>>4130 Agreed. Vocaloid Dickswords are some of the absolute worst of the worst as well. I'm sure there's some exceptions, but there's a reason I'm not in any.
>>4134 The charm of the old ones is that you were part of it. The same way you remember that shit fondly, is how zoomers and alphas will remember shit like pearto. "Because it was written by children so it was insane"
>>4136 Fair i guess. I recall people thinking MMDs were "cringe" even in the early 2010's but it was mostly contrarian kids that thought this, or those who only knew MMD from fandom dance videos like creepypasta or whatever was popular at the time. Vocaloid has always been a zoomer/millennial thing so a lot of the people that made those MMDs were between 9-18 years old.
To the few mmd animators here, a shorts compilation was proposed on /mmd/ >>>/mmd/23 I was thinking of submitting some skits for it but i'm still learning how to make walk cycles
>>4147 >>4149 In their defense there's no English Zundamon voicebank and i don't imagine it'd be easy to have her speak Engrish either.
There's a youtube channel "Zundamon's Cultural Guide" that has an English Zundamon but if i had to guess they used Elevenlabs to make the voice. https://youtube.com/watch?v=EjPFWy3Neqw [Embed]
>>4154 I think it had potential. The issue with DV is that it flopped so hard that almost everyone forgot it existed and it doesn't help that UTAU blew it out of the water with the hifisampler which makes VCVs sound like V3 era voicebanks.
>>4162 And if you want an example with CV banks here's HiFiSampler on /leek/'s own utau voicebank Sena. Sounds more choppy due to it being a CV bank but its still better sounding than DV.
>>4169 flowerfag derailing the thread again he tried posting his off topic dicksword drama shit here as well but fortunately it got deleted either way its not worth taking the bait just keep talking about loids that are vocal
>>4170 Never understood why Tei didn't caught on the same way the other vipperloids did, she sounds the best out of all of them and the fact that she's a parody of Len fangirls in the 2010's makes me think she'd be the type of character people would love
>>4171 That's what happens when your chinese robot website gets posted on twitter, you get twitter faglets doing what they do best. Either way that stuff is covered by rule 12 i believe.
>>4173 <she sounds the best out of all of them I don’t know if I would go that far. Honestly, as simple as teto’s utau voicebank is, I think it has one of the best and most versatile timbres out of the vipperloids.
Anyway did you know that Luka was intended to be the least hot character of the CV's? But it seems Crypton accidentally created the sexiest woman to ever exist
>>4220 >>4221 I can't read the first Kanji, but her given name is Kasu. The second Kanji is pronounced ne/oto/on and means "sound." Lots of UTAUs and Vocaloids alike have it.
>>4229 I can't tell, I just saw the dress and assumed. The sex/gender isn't explicitly listed as male or female, but that it varies from person to person. Probably up to user input, then.
It seems to be an fanloid/upcoming utau called Ujioto Kasu and from what I'm seeing they're somewhat popular in Japan. Gender according to the creator is whatever you want it to be.
What's the actual reason for Tei not receiving any sort of upgrade or port after the lastest UTAU? Vipperloids typically end up getting either upgrades or ports: Ruko on DiffSinger, ENUNU, etc, Ritsu on basically everything that isn't Vocaloid or SynthV, Teto on SV, Voicepeak, etc, Miko on Voicevox. Tei, however, she's been in UTAU hell for a decade.
>>4260 Team got scared of being C&Ded by Crypton for having a character that canonically jacks off to Len and broke up. Idk what specifically caused it though
>>4261 I'd say her character setting just got a little too out of hand in a way that actually did end up hurting the character. No one cares about the absurd sizes/weights of the others, and Teto never had anything problematic that made it into the final character, beyond a sexual-innuendo in her second catchphrase that never gets used anyways. Then you have the yandere rape girl who wants to kill everyone, trap len and etc
As someone who didn't follow vocalsynth stuff during the mid 2010's, what is AlterEgo? I've heard it mentioned around that time but never cared for it until recently now that I found out that old french ALYS vocaloid ended up on this engine instead of vocaloid.
>>4289 If a VP stops voicing a character always assume that they went missing. The same happened with Tei, although Tei in general has been unofficially discontinued.
What did we think of the new Giga? I loved the song, the tuning is so realistic it makes Mitchie-M sound like OwataP The music video is creepy though. Do not want
>>4299 It was good. I don't think there's any Giga songs I really dislike. MV was indeed weird though, the art is fine but I'm not a fan of the Live2D.
>>4299 His style has become a little too hip-hop for my taste. The hooks are less catchy to me. His processing of the instruments is very impressive, though, especially the vocals.
Neru poll is over. The tl;dr is that most people were positive about it and that Hioka will do another poll in Google Forms in the future. https://x.com/hioka/status/1923798213615919112 [Embed]
Here's a song with Defoko, Momo, Teto and Rei that I found via Youtube recommendations. 97 views as of the time I'm writing this. It's pretty experimental, but I liked the sound and atmosphere.
Also Lily is the honorary CV04, she was illustrated by Kei and doesn't look out of place when you put her with the cryptonloids. Too bad she will never receive an upgrade.
>>4320 GigaReol were a fundanshi and a fujoshi making music together basically Early into his history as a vocaloid producer Giga had written a lot of songs about Len and shotas (including the infamous Merry SEXmas) and Reol wrote most of the sexual GigaReol songs
>>4323 The 4/jp/ threads haven't been good in years. Literally no one talks about music anymore there, just Twitter/dicksword drama no one gives a shit about and which Vocaloid wud u fug I know this site has coomers too but at least they don't make up 50% of the thread and /otn/ exists
>>4326 I mainly come here to discuss voicebank announcements because every other website always either reacts too positively or too negatively when a new voicebank comes out. I'd list a recent example here but I'm not gonna risk a potential ban.
>>4328 >I'd list a recent example here Iroha is only polarizing because both Twittards and /jp/tards care more about the voice provider than the voicebank itself. I personally don't care about either, wake me up when Kaai Yuki and Lily get announced for Synth V 2. As for other voicebanks like SV Miki/Kiyoteru, it's mostly oldfags who are too attached to the original voicebank, the same happened with Teto but it seems that one has grown on a lot of them now.
>>4331 i like this chinese song. i dont think it has a reprint on youtube yet, would do it myself but i have no clue how to download videos from bilibili https://www.bilibili.com/video/av626791889 [Embed]
>>4330 Miki is my all-time favorite bank, and she was also the first I bought (her V2 despite her V4 just being made a year back), so you're somewhat right as I'd been listening years previous. I like Iroha as a bank and her VP is good as well. I'm curious as to if Iroha will sound more masculine, it'd give better song opportunities since not many male VBs with personality exist. >>4334 Agreed, though I, too, would love Lily SV2
>>4387 Like the other anons said they do have official character designs but they look like generic office workers and the majority of the community doesn't like them
>>4400 The guy posting off-topic rants about gay shit no one cares about is a single person not multiple. He's been given a couple warnings already but i assume the ban page is broken. Next time we'll make it a week long vacation.
Does anybody know what happened to the guy who posted about 15 Teto songs on /jp/ every thread? After the quality of the threads there dropped he just disappeared and I miss him
>>4475 my guess about this whole neru voicebank is more like "what if a big company wants to make a voice for Neru? how will my community react?" I don't think hioka is actually planning something
>>4613 I haven't seen Flowertrans anon in a day or two and Anti-Teto anon is less frequent because people are ignoring him. It's still shit, but it's far better.
>>4689 Saki Fujita doing different voices for Neru/Haku would be possibly the best outcome for those characters, but I would accept different voice providers. I wonder if Crypton would accept them as part of the cast. It seems like they’re pretty firmly set on the core 6.
>>4690 If it was gonna happen, it would've happened already especially when they made Neru, Haku and Teto DLCs but there’s no better time than now since Teto and Neru are trending (sorry Haku)
>>4726 That seems like a "here are 4 current year popular songs and a timeless classic" with no disrespect meant to the other 4 songs. Kinda odd that that's the only song that hasn't been released that recently, and also odd that the other songs would be there since they've had so little time to prove they have an impact well beyond the time in the limelight.
>>4740 nta but i think people are just tired of seeing every song that blows up be miku/teto stuff when years ago there was more variety (rin, len, luka, gumi, IA, etc). i personally don't mind it if the song is good, daikirai was fucking great.
>>4740 I like Teto and Miku, but I don't like this trend due to the amount of lazy, untuned, uninspired and/or just plain bad originals coming out of it. At least bad originals with non-MikuTeto vocals are usually from a place of genuine love (In the Western community, it can equally come from hate admittedly) rather than desperately wanting to get views. Though, in the case of getting views, I can empathize with feeling like they need to do the trend to captivate an audience at all. Using wholoids, or non-MikuTeto in general is usually a death sentence for viewership, outside of Yi Xi and Flower (and occasionally Fukase, Rin, and Len)
Can we talk about non-Vocaloid vocal synths in this thread or is there a different thread for that? >>4054 >it's nice to talk to people who actually know who sonika is, y'know? Holy truth nuke, I adore wholoids but some of their fans are annoying as fuck
>>4749 Do people still give Steampianist shit for Secrets of Wysteria? I'm not a huge fan of his but i grew up listening to that song, it was one of those things i listened to a lot during my creepypasta phase.
>>4765 Yeah, that and some old tweets. Personally I'm not a fan of Steampianist but I don't think he's the racist nazi Twitter makes him out to be. He's just a very edgy dude who expresses himself with strong words.
As for Wysteria, making Vocaloid songs about real life stories was a big thing around the time it came out, remember Calanini?. Pretty sure the only reason people give him shit for Wyseria is because it's a Vocaloid song. No one cared about Pearl Jam making Jeremy in the 90's.
Seeing so many literal who western producers succeed and make it to the top of the charts while i struggle to get a decent viewcount on my originals recently has been demotivating me a little. Like don't get me wrong some of it is good and absolutely deserves to become popular. But it's tiring when you barely get any recognition.
I don't have much of a connection to the Vocaloid scene. I've been in the fandom for a whole decade but i'm not friends with any huge P's like Circus or Saw.
It's not even that i want to be popular because that usually ends up badly for producers. I'm not a sellout or someone trying to make the new Mesmerizer. I just wish people recognized my shit a bit more.
>>4772 The reason they get recognition is certain producers seeking out small channels and promoting them on social media. Any controversy, and you're basically doomed to never in a million years get viewership, even upon mending relationships with whoever you hurt, or the producers themselves. At least if you have no reputation, you can put keywords like "VOCALOID ORIGINAL" in the description and they may still find it.
>>4775 Only controversy i can think of is that i sometimes post my music here and this place is more unfiltered than other vocaloid forums so long as you keep things on topic. We literally have /otn/ as a board. But i mean, majin posts here as well and he's friends with people like sawtowne and a lot of other big producers so maybe i'm good.
Somebody who was into my music also tried to kill me a few months ago but hopefully they've moved on and won't try to ruin my reputation with false allegations or something like that if i ever get big (No i won't elaborate further on that).
>>4776 >majin posts here as well and he's friends with people like sawtowne and a lot of other big producers a bit off topic but how does this guy literally know everybody in the vocaloid community? i wouldnt be surprised if one day he reveals that he knew koronba or something. dude has contacts with everybody in the community except maybe the few producers who post their shit here (correct me if im wrong because i might be).

>>4780 Producer here. I have never met the guy though I've replied to his posts a couple times. But he's definitely not a nobody. He's a popular MMD animator (one of the few popular western MMD animators still making Vocaloid stuff also) and his style is pretty iconic and recognizable. He's also arguably the face of vocatwt these days, the moment you start liking anything Vocaloid related on that site you'll start seeing him more often on your timeline.
Been seeing this Teto anim around a lot but it's in spanish and no one has bothered to translate it so here's my translation:
<What's up fuckers <Today we're going to test our luck <With this deck of cards with random words >Are you sure this is a good idea <Shut up kid <It's just cards from the center(?) (possibly "shop" or "mall" in this context?) <Here comes the first one <Uhh... <Help I can't read >It says "erase" <Well done, Defoko <I think you should erase your ridiculous frustrated faces (referring to the viewers) <Right, Defoko? <Defoko? <Where did you go? <The table! <The furniture! <The cards! <Fuck >You're here for the sins you've committed >Now you will remain here for eternity <No
>>4815 nothing's going on in the vocaloid community no new popular music, no new voicebank, nothing so as a result /leek/ has been slow this entire week
>>4849 As long as they don't come here i don't really care i stopped browsing those threads after they became a spam and ragebait infested shithole. The toxic types aren't here and when they do come they get banned. That being said fuck vFlower haters.
>>4861 Huh, that's what they play at birthday parties now? When I was her age they played things like crazy frog, hamster dance and all those other Jamster ringtones
>>4888 it was a simpler time, back when people didn't take the internet and anime shit so seriously. nowadays you say you like shota and people think you want to fuck actual children and not anime creatures. fucked up times we are living in.
>>4892 Never liked this song personally Not because of the lyrics but because it sounds like muzak for a 90s visual novel more than it sounds like an actual song
>>4892 I really hate what Twitter has done to internet culture in less than a decade.
The whole proship, antiship stuff originates from there and both are two sides of the same coin. Both are miserable, both actively seek people to harass/engage in discourse and both fight for retarded causes.
>>4905 100%. i don't think i would of been really into much ballad or jazz stuff if it weren't for OSTER, or jpop or jrock or anything like that except for maybe anime OPs. i also wouldn't of met one of my best friends if it weren't for funny migu existing
>>4909 is it weird that i actually prefer her to v3 meiko? i like her simplistic design and her voice sounds a bit nicer (same goes for kaito, his v3 sounds way different compared to his v1)
>>4905 It made me realize some EDM and its subgenres are really good. If it wasn't for Vane I don't think I'd like Hyperpop, for example, despite liking some video game soundtracks with other EDM genres, like TS2 Nightlife. I'm still extremely picky about things like jazz. Oster just isn't something I like, but some jazzy and swing Vocaloid songs are really good. Most were taken down, though.
>>4946 No we're quite fast actually, it's just that sometimes there's brief periods of inactivity due to no happenings so it feels as if 39chan is slow. This thread is also the most active on the site.
>>4969 and I love them all. Minus10 my beloved >>4958 Another vx_beta enjoyer omg, the voices were so unique and I’ll be sad if Yamaha doesn’t do anything with them in the future. They’d be much more interesting and higher quality default voicebanks than the shitty silhouetteloids we have now, and the previous version of vx_beta sounds better than the current one, what the hell Unfortunate Yamaha loves scrapping the few good things they’ve done post-V3.
>>4979 The silhouette series is hands down the worst they've done, they all have the personality of a brick and sound worse than cevio voicebanks. The fact that their portraits are drawn and not made with AI is a miracle honestly.
>>4980 A bit unrelated also but what was Yamaha even thinking when they made V5? It released out of nowhere, added nothing new and only had 10 voicebanks, and just a few years later it was replaced by V6
>>4985 do you know if V6 was free for those who purchased V5? because if they made it paid that'd be awful, imagine buying an unfinished vocalsynth and instead of updating it to have new features they just make a new version
>>4982 I heard V5 was so ass because Yamaha restructured or something and forced all companies to repurchase their rights, LOL That’s probably why they all dipped in the V5 era, I wonder why they returned. Maybe SynthV’s devkit is too expensive (it’s rumored to be ≈$50k, 5x more than Yamaha’s confirmed amount. It’s worth it though) and Cevio AI/Voisona isn’t really a good choice for any one with a target audience outside of Japan, despite it’s quality. Internet themselves originally made Gumi SV as an “experiment” and never planned to release SynthV voicebanks after that yet they did.
>>4993 I think the way this works is contains multiple screenshots of the scene in different angles. With Miku it would be impossible because she is always moving.
>>5020 Honestly just let that place eat itself. The /jp/ thread right now is filled with tards like tetofag, the flowertrans guy and zoomers LARPing as bitter millennials. Most of the good posters have either moved here and adapted to the site's culture or to 8chan's /jp/ board although this last one is pretty dead sadly.
>>5022 don't know about good posters but the few creative people definitely did move here because this is the only place where i see people actually post their own art and music
>>5019 Nope, i think the average /jp/ user wouldn't like this site either way due to rules 3 and 12 existing. Which is probably a good thing because that keeps the low quality posts out of here.
>>5019 If he has, he either hasn't posted or got banned immediately. I think this is the best option, I genuinely cannot stand him. He's the worst poster there, worse than even the dicksword shills and Flowertrans. >>5022 Agreed. >>5025 To be fair I'd never post my work on /jp/ because I'm scared someone know who I am. Rules 4 (also on 4/jp/ but not 8/jp/) and 12 make me feel far more comfortable to post my work here on 39chan.
>>5028 The only thing making him worse than the dicksword shills and the flowertrans guy is the fact that he's always desperate for (You)s and people keep taking the bait, he's fucking insufferable and proof that the jannies are letting /jp/ rot
>>5030 There's at least one person there who would, which I know because he's a confirmed regular of the thread. I don't think anyone else would care, though. At least I hope not. I've posted a couple things here and people seem to enjoy them, which makes me happy.
>>5032 At least the dicksword people fucked off already and flowertrans only really comes in to say "flower is trans" in every thread and fucks off right after. Tetofag on the other hand...
>>5032 The jannies abandoning /jp/ is extremely unfortunate because any half-competent mod team would have banned him by now. That's one reason why I love it here. Also, the users here are generally better overall. >>5034 This is also true. Flowertrans anon is one thing, but Tetofag is not only desperate for (You)s, but probably has other problems too.
>>5042 What's up with this site trying to meme Sonika into relevance again? I'm not new but i never understood why Sonika is such a big meme when no one else talks about her
>>5044 >i never understood why Sonika is such a big meme when no one else talks about her That's literally why. It started as a joke on this board because literally nobody gives a shit about Sonika but eventually anons started to actually like her and now you have some people in here who bought her.
>>5042 You say this as a joke but Sawtowne would probably do her justice since he's one of the few producers out there who can make english voicebanks not sound awful
>>5053 Agreed, even if I don't like his genre of music typically, I really like how he tunes Miku Eng. He'd probably also do Sonika, Tonio, and Oliver justice. Big Al is extremely easy to make sound right, and Yohioloid is difficult, but doable for most.
