only rin and len sound good. luka and meiko are just miku voicebanks, kaito sounds like squidward and miku herself is basically a worse version of NT which is already bad.

I'm honestly kinda glad that the Superpack made people realize that Crypton's been really shitty recently, people tend to dickride them hard because "they made ze miguuu :((". I'm willing to bet that they'll fuck up the Miku voicebank for V6 too, especially considering recent developments (see >>929), though part of me wants that to not be the case at all. I want a good Miku voice for V6.

Conflicted because Miku SP is one of my favorites, the Kagamines are decent, but the others are the worst CFM voicebanks ever. To be fair, Crypton has dropped the ball on pretty much every non-Miku/Kagamine update rather than it being an an issue specific to SP

This is NT, not SP, but the point is still pretty much the same. Even though NT’s improved, the SP banks, especially for Luka just feels like a downgrade by comparison and NT still doesn’t sound like Luka.

Apparently the recent McDonald's Japan ad uses Len SP and wow, it's amazing that they somehow found away to make him sound awful. And here I was thinking that it was only Meiko and Luka that sounded bad.

SP is basically based on the sounds of NT in Sekai so not much I can really say. That being said I fully expect them to release along side new Vocaloid banks. Bright side is NT actually has improved over time and still likely will improve. Downside is SP will always sound like SP

I think the biggest thing other than the shitty license is probably the Engine noise rn. I’ve seen people have an easy time working with it but it’s so much worse than it used to be. It only got 1% better since NT2. If Luka NT sounds like her SP at release, I will riot. Girl has never had a solid bank.

That just sounds like you hate the engine rather than the voicebank itself. And if that's the case then I agree.

In my opinion V2 is probably the best Luka voicebank we've had and nothing has ever come close. Luka was made as this Rei Ayanami type kuudere and her voice was inspired by genres like Trip hop. Her design matches that. V4 and everything after just feels like all of that was thrown out the window in favor of a more mascot-like character, like they just wanted another Miku.
