who, pinocchiop or doushite-chan?
because pinocchiop is great. doushite-chan is sexo.

doushch.gif - 380.24 KB (250x250)

>>2704
To me Pino peaked with Obscure Questions. His new stuff is enjoyable too but it doesn't hit the same way and i miss the guitars.

>doushite-chan is sexo
This creature is attractive to you?

he's one of my favourite producers for a reason. i love both his new and old stuff and i hope he'll be around for a long time

>>2706
i don't see him retiring. he's been in the game for decades and he's a huge mikutard (and i say this in the best way possible). i remember people were scared he'd start making vtuber only music after the nekomata song but after that he went back to making miku songs.

>>2708
I think Kira also does both vtuber and vocaloid music so it seems a lot of VTubers and vtuber companies really like to ask producers for a hand with their music, it’s pretty cool

CC9ixzcUUA….png - 1745.68 KB (3508x2480)

>>2710
I think there's a bit of overlap with both communities. Some vtubers are former producers Circus lol, long time fans or are voice providers themselves. So it isn't too surprising imo. Mogu Mogu Yummy was cool btw.

>>2702
These days I listen to his music and I like some of the songs, but then I hear Rotten Heresy and Chocolate again and just miss his rock-type style. No producer has really filled the same niche for me.
Godish and super-superhero are both pretty good, and I guess the lyrics are meta-commentary on his music career.

>>2796
God-ish is one of his best modern songs. Shame it's not on Project Diva and will never be. No, SEKAI is not a Diva game.

One of the few old producers that remain that still make good music

>>2887
OSTER Project still makes good music too

>>2798
Godish has a genuinely emotional feel to it which sets it apart from his other modern stuff to me. I think that’s why it’s one of his strongest.
>>2889
Oster is underrated now. Weird since her stuff has been so good for so long.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=DBTjK5y68jA

I used to listen to this one years ago when i was just getting into Vocaloid. It has a very weird dissonant style that i haven't heard from any other PinocchioP songs.

>>2702
Easily my favorite producer that I've been listening to since Poncotsu. My very first Magical Mirai I ever went to 2 years ago featured "Because You're Here" and I was bawling my eyes out by the end of it. And I'm going to his concert in 2 weeks as well.

absolutely my favorite producer

He's doing a stream of his concert on May 8th. It's not free though.

>>3326
Not a fan of paying for livestreams tbh. I'd rather go to an actual concert.

>>3326
I'm going to his show this weekend in Osaka, but it's not the one he's streaming, that's next week in Tokyo. It's not my first show so I already know photos and videos are allowed, wondering if I should post some here or maybe make a thread on /live/

>>3527
Go for it anon

>>3527

>>3532

>>3615
I appreciate the fact that he brought the aimaina and doushite plushies

>>2702
I hope everyone at the concert had fun!
As for my opinions on Pinocchio himself, I don't think his songs past around 2018 are for me, unfortunately. But I will never pass up Rotten Heresy and Chocolate or Apple Dot Com

>>3617
I feel like this with post-Obscure Questions PinocchioP but honestly I do really a lot of the stuff he has put out this decade: Love for Love, Tensei Ringo, God-ish, etc

>>3618
Yeah, he still makes good songs here and there but it feels like the passion is gone.

>>3622
I wouldn't say that the passion is gone. He's still very much into Vocaloid and a lot of his recent stuff is pretty good/doesn't feel lazy or created to go viral. I feel like if the passion for making Vocaloid stuff was really gone he'd be focusing 100% on DAIHAKKEN (project which has been abandoned since 2020).

https://youtube.com/watch?v=4EssvTNGZ0g

>>3623
Speaking of DAIHAKKEN i kinda miss that project. He has a nice singing voice and i liked all of the songs he put out around that time.

>>3623
Great point. There's also a spark of creativity still going by God-ish.
Pinocchio is better than Deco in that regard, everything Deco makes is view-chasing nowadays.

>>3625
DECO has been like that since Vampire blew up

>>3626
Yeah, Vampire is his last song I enjoyed, and even then it was a sort of mild enjoyment rather than liking or loving it. Usually vampire theming instantly makes me like a song, too.
I'm glad the JP community still has old Voca-P's that haven't sold out (Pinocchio, Utsu-P, etc)

>>3623
<he'd be focusing 100% on DAIHAKKEN
You could argue he feels trapped by vocaloid since daihakken never caught on. It felt to me like it needed its own aesthetic identity. If he's going to go for a clean pop sound he'd be better served by Miku, although Human was a pretty good album anyway.

>>3632

There were plenty of people using their phones. Usually they aren't allowed though

One last one, it's almost a whole song and one of my favorites.
https://streamable.com/thtxyc

>>3636
I don't think he feels trapped at all. In his interviews and the 15th anniversary book he says he feels like he's married to Miku and doesn't see himself quiting vocaloid anytime in the future.

>>3643
Doing god's work anon, hope you had fun

>>3644
Pretty much most of the songs I wanted to hear that he's already done live weren't there (Mushroom Mother, Magical Girl, Love it, Reincarnation Apple) , but it was still good fun regardless. I'm probably gonna pay for the stream for the next show too, and some anon on another chan said he'd try to record it.

>>3632
Just watched these and it looks very fun
this is the first time i see a concert from a producer rather than having their song featured on mikuexpo or something and honestly im surprised at how well it works

>>6781
Just noticed it's nun Miku on the left and pope Teto on the right.

God-ish 2 confirmed

Banger and Miku is adorable as hell

the song is definitely a diss on Teto growth in popularity and the MikuTeto songs

>>6834
Love Miku's design here

>>6835
Is he saying everyone that is blindly using Teto for easy views is like a crazy fanatic? But then he says don't believe this song at the end.

>>6834
This is Mesmerizer but the roles are swapped

I get the message he's trying to convey with the new song but i wasn't a big fan. Feel very weak compared to everything else he's made. Maybe i just need to give it more time for it to grow on me.

>>6781
Song was good
Not his best but good and not even close to Mesmerizer

Maybe it's brainlet take but I don't think it's about Mesmerizer or even trying to evoke the image of it. I think people see "Oh Teto and Miku and hypnosis, Mesmerizer rip off!" but anyone that bothered to watch it would know that's not what the song is about since Miku was actually never hypnotized at all.

>>6834
I thought the message of the song was pretty obvious. It’s a commentary on blind faith and while dangerous can provide more comfort than to live atheistically.

>>6903
this makes sense

>>6834

>>7519

>>7526
i think most anons here would do the same lel

I'm typically not a fan of Mesmerizer clones but i liked Don't believe in T. Maybe im just biased because like Pinocchio but i thought it was good.

>>7651

>>7659
yes.

this is a mesmerizer clone before mesmerizer

https://youtube.com/watch?v=yT8FfQrS37M [Embed]

>>7659
The only one I'd call a clone is CandyCookieChocolate. The rest are their own thing. But basically any song featuring Miku and Teto made after Mesmerizer is absolutely inspired by Mesmerizer even if not entirely.

>>7662
I think PinocchioP purposely went with hypnosis in his video as bait and anyone saying the song is just Mesmerizer fell for it. You can argue there never was any hypnosis at all

>>7664
I'm disappointed he didn't name it Hypnotizer

)

>>11591
Damn, his solo project is done? I know its been years now but I was hoping he'd release more

>>11593
Anon it's been 5 years since the his last update on it. But it is also a bit sad that he really only ever does small back up parts in his songs now.

>>11595
Yeah, i feel like the most popular song from that project ending up on his new album confirms that its dead. A bit sad considering other producers have had pretty successful solo projects, idk why this one didn't do as well.

>>11595
>5 years
Time is a bitch, I thought it was a lot more recent

>>11589
good cover

>>11596
He just prioritized his vocaloid work is why I think. I remember people thinking Because You're Here was like his Odds and Ends because he announced that project around that time, but he said in an interview that he feels like he's married to Miku and will continue vocaloid as long as he's able to.

At first i thought that was Una. Now that'd be interesting, PinocchioP doing a Una song.

>>15184
Looks like it could be Playing Immortal, the first track in the trailer. That was already the one I was looking forward to hearing the most

New PinocchioP soon. With art from Terada Tera apparently.

>>15662
I'm more excited for the fact that Tera is returning for a PinocchioP video than the song itself tbh

>>15193
Actually, he did do Teto didn't he? Maybe it could happen...

G_V3XoNWgA….jpg - 326.03 KB (2300x1436)

I love Terada Tera's style

>>15807
I appreciate the fact that she's been doing Vocaloid MVs for years now

>>15662
Apparently Terada did the illustration and movie direction while Morinoji did the animation. Morinoji's animation is so smooth

I just ordered from booth.

It's been less than a week since release though, right? I didn't know booth was that quick

>>16628
Well I'm the one that posted the concert footage months ago in this thread. You can imagine why I got it so fast.

>>16632
How's life in Japan?

>>16642
Boring like anywhere else really. I'm just always waiting for the next concert. I have to miss Deco and Kikuo this month because of work but I'm going to the pokeman one next month even though I haven't played a game in 10 years at this point.

Today is PinocchioP's 17th anniversary

>>2702
>What do we think of him?
Obscure Questions is nice. I'm not really a fan of his sleepy sounding Miku in his more recent stuff. But I haven't listened to PinocchioP's music that much, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

>>19276
His miku is relaxing to listen to so i don't mind it

Finally got around to listening to the new album. Overall a 7/10 album I think.

Img.jpg - 226.56 KB (1055x1051)

I loved his work a lot when I was much younger. I found him via Rotten Heresy and Chocolate. Shibou was his last album I enjoyed, I listened a lot when it first came out and still keep a couple songs from it as MP3 on my phone.
I don't know if his quality of work changed or my tastes changed, but his newer songs started to feel boring after a while. I didn't like a lot of the songs on Human or the singles he was releasing and I haven't paid much attention since. His older albums still hold up though, they're good. Might check out what he's been up to and if that will change for me.

>>19435
I feel like he's done the same message better already

PinocchioP's yearly Miku day picture

I always see in some older videos comments saying how PinocchioP is unique for singing with Miku (like from 10 years ago). Was this something that he started, or at least the first big producer to do so?

>>21006
Started is probably generous, but he certainly is and was the most prolific person doing it by that point. I think others like Mikito and Picon have independently toyed with the idea rather than being influenced by him, though. I'd personally attribute the idea as much to utaite like 96neko doing Len duets.

PinoP really shines when he does meta songs.

Dumbass teto that's for humans only

>>25928
I'm sleep deprived and read the title as Retarded Diva

Bit disappointed that he didn't use V6 here but great song, reminds me a lot of Anon M.

>>25928
good song

>>25931
lol

>>25930
>T as a metaphor for blind devotion
>blatantly calls her a trend
Damn why is he so savage towards Teto?

>>25944
Because she is a trend

>>25944
Racism against chimera

>>25944
dude has a grudge against teto just for the sake of it

>>25974
It's really funny. I enjoy it when he gets cynical and jaded about some aspect of culture. It's part of why songs like Rotten Heresy and Chocolate and Godish are so compelling.

>>25975
What is God-ish even about?

>>25976
My understanding is that it's making fun of Twitter users who call everything godlike. And people's obsession with looking cool despite their shallow understanding. When I read the lyrics I get the vibe that the narrator is seriously pissed off at how stupid everyone is. I could be wrong though.

>>25974
I don't blame him at all tbh

Thinking about how every PinocchioP song involving Teto is just him shit talking her

>>26069
Also weird he only did it to Teto and not any of the others that everyone said would replace Miku.

>>26078
Teto has always been depicted as a wannabee vocaloid that idolizes Miku and also a trickster so I really don't think he hates her at all, it is she is just depicted as a long time rival to Miku. If he hated her he wouldn't use her so much.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=vGmgj3oWasA

>>26080
Agreed, he doesn't seem like the type to hate Teto. He was friends with Sime-Saba Twisters.

>>26069
I am pretty sure it's directed at those people that think Miku is old and busted and that vocaloid is some sort of competition about who gets the most views.

>>26082
I don't think he hates Teto just for the fact that he paid for her voicebank lol

>>26247
Congrats Pino

Has Pino ever explained who this is supposed to be?

>>31229
The only male character i've ever seen him draw

>>31229
I've never seen anything about a name, and I even went and looked it up in the art book >>6468 and all it mentions is that PinocchioP was thinking about the pandemic and how posting pretty much anything to social media gets you attacked or flamed, which to him is very suffocating. Interesting.

>>31257
So basically its just some guy
I always found it interesting since in his music videos its almost always an alt design of Miku but Non breath and Tensei ringo are the only two videos where he hasn't drawn her.

anyone else kinda miss white mask era pino?

I love how lifeless his Miku looks, really fits his interpretation of Miku. He should do another collab song with Deco.

>>33506
Are you talking about Miku in his music videos or the mascots?

>>33493
Never seen him live. Did he actually wear the white mask to his concerts back in the day?.

He wore it for one concert before taking it off for the next one (funny the DJ was PinocchioP MK-2)
