I've been noticing more and more AI bros trying to pass their kuso as Vocaloid music. Their videos typically have AI generated thumbnails that are easy to spot but when they don't *cough* OKISO *cough* you can kinda hear it in the way the music is "composed" plus the awful, robotic compression. Really sucks.
>>13051 I'm willing to say that the majority of the songs from that era have aged incredibly well except for a couple western ones (especially the creepypasta ones like Rugrats Theory, which I actually love but yeah...)
Is it bad that I want to see another Leekaloid added to the current lineup? I know that realistically it's not gonna happen because all Leekaloids were made for a reason: Sena was made to prove we can make a collaborative UTAU, Toriko to prove that we can pull off a "Kasane Teto" and Shinya just sort of exists of out necessity because everyone else was female. But that being said I'd love to have a fourth.
An april fools prank is out of the question. Toriko was conceptualized around late 2024 if not early 2025 and we still don't have her voicebank.
>>13106 I mean Dokune Osana could've been one. She was made to satirize those invasive censorship laws they've been shoving down our throats. But you guys made her into a fanloid instead.
I feel like the fact that people have been trying to make their TCC misc characters into Leekaloids shows that the demand is there but you can't just make one on your own and for no reason yknow.
Give me a fucking break, one minute left. One minute fucking left! You're gonna give me fucking one minute? There, look at that fucking sign right there. One minute?! Let me fucking tell you something, let me tell you something. I've been around since fucking two thousand-fucking-seven, and you're gonna give me one fucking minute? You gotta be fucking kidding me! You're fucking kidding me, what the fuck? I'm not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers! You've gotta be fucking joking, this is a fucking joke! I got one minute, one minute left... Oh, now I got nothing left, now I got nothing left. Let me show you what one fucking minute fucking means! *smashes guitar* (if nobody gets this reference i'm going to look stupid XD)
happy to see ichimaru animating more vocaloid mvs. at this point it feels like all my favorite artists have contributed at least one thing to vocaloid.
>>13317 Well, I liked a lot of songs this year but the only one that's both "definitive" and something I really liked is Static, (though I like Human a bit more) unless I'm forgetting something.
I don't see why anyone thinks Teto fatigue will ever set in. We havn't had Miku fatigue after almost two decades, and Teto is almost as popular; she beat out miku for the most watched voicebank of 2024 after all.
>>13381 They're not that different from the "mesmerizer ruined vocaloid" type of person, but they post a lot of shitposts and talk about other vocaloids and utaus not limited to just cryptonloids and teto. It also seems that they mock performative miku fans more than Teto fans, even calling Teto fans mikutards 2. And thanks to some latino group ive found a really nice inverview with Teto and Momo voice providers from 2011, Oyamano even talks about how her school friend were talking about Teto not realising it was her
>>13386 I wouldn’t say “Miku fatigue” never happened, it’s more that we just have a different idea of what it would be compared to how it actually manifested. Like for a bit I was seeing a lot of people voice distaste towards her but after a new song gets really popular, major collab or game release, or even new vb news, it revitalizes the mood and people get excited again. I can see the same happening with Teto and it’s already begun even if it’s just a vocal minority.
Only difference between these two and the vocals that essentially drop off afterwards are that the ones that just decline as fast as they appear are more trends that didn’t have the staying power or missed an opportunity to be such.
>>13388 It's different with Miku though. Miku will remain popular even if they discontinued her voicebanks. She's the face of Vocaloid. She's what your friends think about when they think of Vocaloid.
>>13389 Miku is losing ground to Teto though. She is no longer the face of Vocaloid or is on par with Teto for much of the current generation. Not that she is getting less popular, it's just she is no longer the only face now. So I don't think she is really all that different compared to Teto, but it's still too early to say for sure in my opinion. Teto doesn't have all the games, merch etc. yet, and it remains to be seen whether any of this will actually occur.
>>13400 >Teto doesn't have all the games, merch etc. yet Teto is crypton's greatest fanservice if she is to be in something she will be the "miku friend" and i am fine with that
>>13497 If you want to feel real old, Lost Umbrella by Inabakumori turns 8 this year which means that in two more years it'll have been 10. Yes, an Inabakumori song will become a classic within just a few years.
>>13476 Love Taste by Jamie Paige and Moe Shop also turns 10 this year and could be considered a classic. This is either a good thing or 9/11 depending on who you ask.
>>13667 Where the fuck are people getting that Kafu leaked when i've searched every possibly combination of "KAFU SV", "KAFU LEAK", "可不 SV" and absolutely no one is talking about it? Is this all a big prank
>>13674 It's because Kaf herself didn't want the SV to release because it sounded too close to her real voice. SV itself is already a pain in the ass to pirate though.
>>13680 what ended up happing with uni btw? i know her vp sued the company behind the voicebank but was it pulled from sale and discontinued or can you still purchase it?
>>13667 Pretty much a new cracked SV editor went up a few days ago and yesterday someone managed to find KAFU’s dataset and used it to essentially remake the bank in the new crack. Everyone’s being so vague about it because they don’t wanna get in trouble.
>>13711 I only really have this one video people deleted. It’s a recreation of the bank using the data found in sv1’s dataset set like what was said in >>13687
People deleted the model and are trying to prevent sharing so it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands since it was pulled due to VP comfort.
>>13736 It's a joke, no one thinks 39chan is going to die over a KAFU voicebank that anon didn't even release and just posted a video of. Besides there are RVCs and jinrikis of her as well.
>>13726 hate to break it to you anon but if that clips is yours, you're kinda fucked. i don't think 39chan will be in legal trouble at all but anon is definitely fucked.
>>13745 I mean it's not just a video, the fact that it's possible to datamine and recompile Kafu directly from the engine has all kinds of implications
>>13776 >QRD on the Kafu incident? KAFU was going to get a Synth V voicebank last year but it was cancelled because it sounded too realistic and her voice provider was uncomfortable with that. Today an old build of Synth V leaked (allegedly from a team that makes cracks for these type of software? but don't quote me on that) and it somehow had the data associated with KAFU's cancelled SV bank so someone was able to remake the voicebank and make it functional in the leaked build. The result is the video you see here: >>13726
But as far as I know only a video has leaked, I don't think anyone has access to the leaked build or the voicebank. >who is Tora? Controversial dude who's known for having leaked KAFU's CEVIO voicebank. I don't think he's the one who posted the video here but it wouldn't surprise me if he lurks this place. As far as I know the majority of the community hates him, including anons on this site.
>>13777 I’m pretty sure it was an archived release build but they based this new crack on whatever build Yumekey was using and “enhanced” it. There’s a special manager it actually has so you can customize the banks to your liking pretty much but among the collective data they found KAFU’s pretrains. That data happened to be enough to recreate the bank. It’s not the full data but I guess it was enough because they got the vocal modes too.
A few people have the model but aren’t sharing it tmk.
As for Tora, he didn’t exactly leak it himself. All the CeVIO AI banks that were in development at the time leaked days before Yukari Rei came out. Tora was told by someone else and then they made it public that she leaked and was crackable.
Admittedly funny as fuck we can make relevant jokes about that again.
To be honest, isn’t this Dreamtonic’s fuckup? You’d think after cancelling a VB they wouldn’t leave all its parts in the base program. Just a really weird setup.
>>13786 To an extent. I don’t think it’s the full bank, let alone the complete thing, but it is enough to recreate it regardless. I’ve heard the data was eventually removed after the delay but even so, it was only a matter of time given people archive each version these days.
They’ll be looking at this now in hindsight of course. If SV2 follows similar rules then hopefully they learn from this and come up with a new system so this doesn’t happen again. Still more blame on the people who found this though since even though it is DT’s mistake having it in there, someone still went digging and put all the pieces together.
>>13787 Yeah, I've been hearing that Kafu came out of a 2024 build. I guess the obvious thing to do in this case is delay engine updates that have unreleased banks in them. And add more antipiracy stuff. I've also been hearing that people are deleting piracy servers/sites over this, can anyone confirm?
>>13788 I'm not sure if I want to link the site directly but I can atleast confirm that the new SV crack is no longer available on it. The page has been mostly emptied out and it now says "*由于某些原因,本页面全部内容已移除。". The site however is still operating and has a bunch of other stuff on it. Make of this what you will
>>13794 I've no idea who leaked KAFU, the site I was referring to is a collection of cracked Voca software that was endorsed by the Yumekey guys. It also had links to download the new SV crack, but it probably didn't originate there. It's now all removed tho but all the other cracked software remains as of this post. I have no idea where exactly it originated but I can confirm it was cracked by some russians - they call it SV Flat. I don't think they did anything with KAFU specifically, it must've been someone who downloaded the software and used the new features they put in.
>>13807 They've plastered everywhere that its "Yumekey inspired". I'm interpreting this as being separate from Yumekey but I can't tell you more. I am assuming it's okay to post this since it's just a manual? https://files.catbox.moe/8921ie.html (make an empty .txt file, paste all the contents in and change the extension to .html)
leak all this shit on 4chan not here, i dont want this place to get infested with malicious skid tomodachis or annoying redditors asking for kafu sv download
>>13819 >>13820 To be clear I'm not endorsing the cracked software, but I thought it would be interesting to see what was used to rebuild KAFU, hence the manual. My opinion for what it's worth is also that it seems untrustworthy. Also i'm not sure who bears legal responsibility here since these guys basically just created a KAFU DIY kit without actually making her, but I don't think Russia enforces laws surrounding this anyways. This is it from me and I won't be posting further links on this topic.
>>13826 I said it in a moot’s replies on Twitter but it was incredibly pointless to vague post considering a certain public SynthV dicksword with 2k+ members had already broadcast the news name dropping Kafu before the vague posting even began.
>>13864 I 100% agree with this and the other Kafu comments I've seen about this. Like I really liked POPY and ROSE on CeVio but then they got ported to synthV and just started sounding like their bandori counterparts.
I'm tired of certain people just instantly dismissing the CeVio 'sound' as bad.
>>13877 I mean the leaked voicebank isn't bad if you ignore the obvious facts but part of what makes KAFU "KAFU" is the shitty noise engine. I could not imagine her without it.
I hope that if we ever get another KAFU voicebank (doubt it after this incident), she sounds at least a bit similar.
Hate it that so many Vocaloid are being discontinued this decade. At least some of them like Iroha are getting upgrades but the majority of V1s and V2s are essentially dead. We'll never get a new Kaai Yuki voicebank, we'll never get a new Sonika, or a new Miriam, or Gakupo. It's hopeless...
I think the best outcome for KAFU would be if she got a V6. Another engine infamous for its bad engine noise but at least she wouldnt sound out of place in it.
>>13885 In Kaai Yuki's case you could always use archive recordings but I'm pretty sure those are in Yamaha's vault and Kaai Yuki was created during a time in which vocal synths still sounded very unrealistic. A realistic AI child voice would probably be considered unethical.
As for Gakupo, the only thing preventing an upgrade is the fact that GACKT himself is uncomfortable with AI and realistic voice cloning.
Regarding this: does anybody know if SynthV's voicebank creation process is any similar to DiffSinger's? You know, labeling the phonemes in your dataset and then training the bank itself.
>>13878 In fairness the main reason more people use their SynthV is probably not because of how they sound but because Popy and Rose are buggy as fuck on CeVIO. I can’t go five minutes without running into a glitch with them.
>>13886 This is basically what they wanted to do with Yuki. AHS has the recordings but they stated they still needed approval from Yamaha to actually use them and the vocaloid engine to make the bank they want.
>>13893 Well that sucks. At least we kinda know how that would sound. Kaai Yuki's VP is in her 20's now and there are not so legal RVC voicebanks trained on her AHS 10th anniversary speech.
I hope people will use IA again when her new voicebank releases. I can tell 1STPLACE is marketing her very heavily with all those teasers and stuff. If I'm not mistaken they also brought back the IA GLOWB promo a while back too.
>>13995 Just checked and yeah there was a new IA GLOWB song relased last year on September 19 (39chan's birthday lol). I'm guessing we'll be getting some more IA GLOWB songs soon. That's nice.
>>14057 i probably count as one and know her. though i've been into vocaloid for as long as 2012 as a listener. im currently waiting for the V6 because im an english producer and i dont like how her english cevio bank sounds.
>>14066 Western producers are more likely to care about her. Lately they've all using the red one but they still seemingly love wholoids more than Japan.
>>14057 They’d prob care a bit more about her if there were more overseas concerts like there was with party-a-go-go and her original English bank was on Vocaloid and didn’t move to CeVIO at the time. If IA GLOWB featured more western producers and not only a few sporadic singles it would have helped too.
I’m sure with IA V6 it’ll help get more attention but like, 1st Place has a tendency to just do whatever they want and not whatever makes sense.
>>14199 Hate to say this but Love Attribute and Freesia are the best ones there. Confessions is not my thing but I like the music video and appreciate the work that went into it.
>>14199 Not that bad honestly, I'm surprised Confessions is 2nd and Spoken For is 3rd, and then maybe that Affection Addiction is on the list to begin with, but I don't feel like they don't fit. Apart from there being no Gumi I think the list captures the Zeitgeist pretty well. Besides, personal taste aside, this kind of music resonates with the kids and is great for the growth of the community. The kids who listen to this will be the vocaboomers of tommorrow, and it feels good to be able to reasonably expect that interest in vocal synths won't die out.
I really don't want to bring twitter drama into this but the new MikuTeto had me wondering. Generally, subgenres have their own clichés, keywords, and lyrical themes. If someone doesn't like the current clichés, they just need to learn how to search for songs instead of relying on their algorithm or come back in 5 years when someone creates a new trend
>>14267 Twitter is designed to keep you doomscrolling and consuming whatever your feed gives you, this goes for most modern media but Twitter especially so. So I don't think most people are interested in going out of their way to find things they like
>>14267 I once saw some guy say that people in this community prefer to talk negatively about songs they dislike, therefore inflating its viewcount and reach, than giving attention to songs they like. Truer words have never been spoken.
>>14268 Oh and also, people enjoy getting ragebaited anyways, so there isn't even a motive to search for alternatives. And the algorithm knows this so it will serve you ragebait
>>14274 Same shit. But the point is people talked so much about that song that they made it popular. This community has a problem with talking about shit they don't like until it backfires.
>>14276 this is a different situation but i guess you could say this also happened with the kafu leak. people vagueposted so much about it that it caused a streisand effect and now the leaked kafu voicebank is available on this very thread.
that being said though, there's a difference between the shitty IA song and that recent mikuteto song. one was made to piss twittertards off, the other was likely made for fun by the creator but twitter is allergic to fun.
>>14292 I see people make memes with her so i guess she is somewhat known. I never see any originals with her though. Have this rickroll cover i found.
>>14302 She will set the world ablaze >>14301 I don't think i've ever heard her sing before, she sounds nice! Toriko will have more originals than her this year though
>>14305 >Toriko will have more originals than her this year though what makes you say this? she doesn't even have covers (aside from that tori no uta demo that was published on the vox channel)
>>14307 I've had plans to make an original with her even before the Japanese voicebank was out. I just have been waiting for the English one all this time.
>>14314 she had a song in 1st spot in last week's vocaloid billboard and haraguchi just released a song with her. Apperenly these songs is part of a crowdfunding for her debut album
>>14325 >>14324 Because miserable Xitter users think it's "racist" (it's not) and "lolibait" (it's also not). It is mesmerizerkuso though, and people are fed up with mesmerizer clones.
>>14324 because people think it's loli and racist even though it's neither of those things. my guess is people are sick of mikuteto and since you need moral justification to dislike something in this current era they randomly decided that "it's racist and pedophilic".
>>14301 I have no idea why Koto didn't take off at all, she's got a nice voice. I guess it's only a matter of time but as long as Teto fever continues don't expect to see her anytime soon.
My new year wish is for less popular loids to shine this year. If it really is the start of a new golden age as some people have claimed then surely someone less known will make it big. Our first golden age had a huge variety after all.
>>14379 I personally prefer Japanese ones but I do like some CircusP songs and a couple Flavor Foley ones. I think the reason Western producers are so popular now is because a lot of new fans hear these songs and don't even know that it's Vocaloid.. and then they actually get into Vocaloid.
>>14379 I've been a fan since 2013 and found that I usually prefer Western songs by quite a lot, especially since 2018 or so, but I've followed a lot of Western producers since the first year or two I got into Vocaloid, including discovering GHOST in 2014, when they were a very unknown producer. I don't really like Flavor Foley even if I like Vane and Rice individually, but occasionally I really love something they make as FF, like Butcher Vanity or Static. Nowadays I find I prefer obscure Western producers, or songs by known ones that are older, with exceptions. THaB returned and the series is as good as ever.
>>14379 Talking about the community as a whole, there's always been some degree of regional favoritism, but it seems like the past 1-2 years have had a serious shift towards western Ps. There's even people who bash Japanese Ps now, which I never thought would happen...
>>14388 Twitter and Tiktok afaik, but yeah. The strange part is seeing the old "western Vocaloid music sucks and sounds the same" take totally inverted.
>>14392 I don't hate western vocaloid but i do think this is true to some extent. Barely any western producers innovate so whenever one of them actually comes up with a new sound i always appreciate that.
Don’t get me wrong but has there not always been people bashing Japanese Producers? Like I feel like I’ve been surrounded by people who did that on Vocatwt for years
>>14376 Not bad overall, CircusP really got on the list with one collab though, lol >>14379 Yes, and these days we are lucky enough that there are plenty to choose from as well >>14402 Eleanor a queen in a classical song? Fits, she was already my queen <3
