To be fair i don't mind it if the same guest does a Q&A again. Not sure if you've ever heard of this site called Hispachan which was essentially 4chan for Spanish people but they'd do AMA thread with notable figures like internet personalities (I think one of them was Hiro), it was a bit like what they do here, and they'd repeat guests sometimes.

I do agree that i'd like to see more guests though, a vocaP would be nice though. I feel like some underground but not unpopular producer would probably accept.

Not surprising

Realistically, for most Japanese people, reading questions in English and replying in English is quite a hurdle.

Without the tech advances of the past few years, doing a Q&A in English would’ve been impossible for me too. Even in Japanese, it’s hard to keep answering questions one after another from multiple people—so in another language, it’s even tougher.

Unless someone was already good at English, or is willing to lean on tools and try anyway, it’s totally understandable to hesitate. If you imagine dropping into a Japanese board and answering Japanese questions in Japanese, you’ll get pretty much the same feeling.

I think its interesting that you decided to post on 39chan instead of a place like 4chan, which is sort of like the English equivalent to 2channel (community-wise, because functionality wise its closer to Futaba Channel). But this is almost exclusively a Vocaloid site so I guess it makes sense.

Reddit doesn't have the greatest reputation in the west (especially on Imageboard sites like this), but I guess it's an okay option to discover music or see different opinions.

The only thing I really use Reddit for nowadays is introducing newgens to old or obscure songs, because there's so many of them who genuinely want to learn and people keep posting the obvious things, so I want to introduce them to maybe a couple obvious things at most, while the rest of the list is either wholoids, whoducers, or just so old most people forgot about it. It's especially fun with Western Vocaloid, because the WVF has a lot of music that's forgotten and gets buried for 10+ years, whereas I see it's more common for the Japanese side to have old songs get brought back. The most pushback I've gotten in the Vocaloid sub is from exceptionally catty literal whos who think they're better than everyone, especially me, but that's the only sub on Reddit I've seen where they're the minority. The UTAU sub is fucking awful though I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, provided you don't get banned for breathing wrong.

I strongly agree, you'd think there'd be more than ONE place where you can talk about this other than here or there. Absolutely, but on the flipside I think that's part of why this place is so good, while it's an imageboard, being a small one themed around Vocaloid gives it a strong advantage no mainstream site can ever have. The rules are also formulated to curb problem behavior in the fandom that's (unfortunately) very common. You wouldn't get that on another site.

I've made originals but I mostly make covers because I'm significantly better at tuning & mixing than melodies or instrumentation. I also find the tuning process very fun and have done work for friends or as collabs with them. I've used primarily wholoids but despite the amount of time I've been around I still get very insecure about it sometimes. A lot of producers have a natural knack for it, but I cannot wrap my head around the process of making good sounding melodies most of the time on my own.
