Tbh I prefer the forumposters over the average IB retard any day. The nice culture would 100% be lost if 39ch were as big as 4chan, posts would probably be mostly bickering/bait over stupid shit. I hate big imageboards tho so I'm probably too biased lol

>>76
I highly doubt 39chan would ever get as big as 4chan considering it's a Vocaloid focused site. At best it'd grow to the same extent as Uboachan.

39ch was just posted on 4/jp/ so I guess we can expect a new influx of users. Whether that's a good or a bad thing, we'll see. I like the slowness of 39ch and the fact that the threads are mostly on-topic. I also feel like the ban on retarded /pol/ shit and reddit cancer will filter out unwanted people.

>>80
omg I just went to look at that thread and it's actually pretty funny

"fuck off retard stop bringing people from this site"
"Stop having schizo fights"

the bickering is gold, I love watching 4channers argue idk why

i honestly dont think jaypees coming to the site would be a problem since 39chan itself has /jp/ roots. as long as they don't shit up the boards with their /pol/-rotten slang and culture and accept ours we should be good. i do use a bit of 4chan myself. have for years. but it gets tiring seeing newfags from there spreading their anti-bobba bullshit to other comfier imageboards.

>>82
>anti-bobba
oh right, wordfilter is on. i meant "12 year old who just discovered 4chan and thinks its entire culture is spamming the n word and hating on fags" type shit.

>inb4 no fun allowed
fuck off you're the cancer killing imageboards

I love how this site currently lacks both the VocaTwitter fags who doxx and falsely accuse people over shipping RinLen and the toxic IB users and /pol/ migrants who think everyloid who isn't Miku is a wholoid (in what world is Luka a wholoid?), I'm praying that doesn't change.

>>117
That's cause 39chan started as a vocaboomer refugee site. Nu-vocaloid fans and pjsk kiddies plague most Vocaloid related circles and the old fandom culture is too much for them (despite the fact that they continue to engage with it instead of ignoring it because their brains are hardwired to do that).

having forum style posters is nice
altchans tend to pull from the same pool of active posters across all of them (like me lmao) or get recent refugees from 4chan, so having new blood not from imageboard culture is a goid thing
as long as they aren't here to stir trouble, and it doesn't seem like it, it's great

>>117
eternally glad I've dodged the crazy Twitter crowd
been obsessed with rinxlen for like 15+ years and I refuse to stop

>>125
>so having new blood not from imageboard culture is a goid thing
this. forum style posting without the toxicity of xitter and modern imageboard culture is comfy.
>been obsessed with rinxlen for like 15+ years and I refuse to stop
is it me or a huge chunk of this site is female fujos?

>>126
>is it me or a huge chunk of this site is female fujos?
it's a natural part of these things, fujoshi chicks have always been a presence in the vocaloid fandom

but I'm a guy lol, I'm just obsessed with twins, and I decided that since they're immaculate singing beings that even if I cared that they were related, it didn't matter in this case

>>76
the vocaloid threads on 4chan /jp/ have become pretty unbearable because of this recently so i have to agree. the hornyposting is funny at first but quickly becomes annoying. i only still go there for the music people share.

Almost 500 UIPs now

Correct, dumbasses get the hammer

Why is this website suddenly faster than it was a month ago?

These past few weeks the /jp/ threads have been filled with newfrends and dramafags (probably as a result of Zako/11), i'm glad this site doesn't have the same issue

i've been thinking about this for a while. if the toriko thing is succesful i feel like people will find 39ch. bit of a double edged sword methinks.

>>207
We could just not mention 39chan after revealing Toriko(..right?)

Well, if /jp/ stays dead you can expect some refugees. よろしくお願いします

>>218
At this point i think we should encourage them to stay, especially since this might actually be the end of 4chan. 39ch isn't moderated by the same people as 4/jp/ so the quality of the posts going down should not be an issue and there are rules against a lot of the spammy shit nu-/jp/ gets. I don't think we'd be getting people like the "shitgu" spammer in here.

1744253892….jpg - 213.20 KB (600x1074)

I've thought of making a /jp/ board before. But keep in mind that this is a Vocaloid fansite before anything else. One fear I have is that the /jp/ board would become more active than any of the Vocaloid boards. I also don't know how users of this site would feel about it.

Currently it seems like >>>/g/ is serving that purpose though so let's see how things go.

Has anyone noticed that we've been getting around 8-12 users recently? It was 5 at best before the 4chan hack. I wonder if this is related.

>>234
Pretty sure it's a mix of various things that happened within the week. The raid from a couple days ago increased activity on our site (somehow we were able to benefit from that), 4chan being down helped even more because a lot of the newfriends are /jp/ refugees. And to add to that 39chan has been linked on various altchans like Kissu and Wap which have been receiving a lot of attention recently as a result of 4chan being down.

12 is not a crazy high number like the 50's Wapchan has been getting but it's pretty cool. I expect activity to sort of go back to what it was a few days ago by the time 4chan returns but it's nice to see new faces here. Hope some of you stick around.

>>235
I know I'm happy to stay. I was only on /jp/ for the Vocaloid thread and it was circling the drain even before the site exploded. This place seems a lot more genuine and accommodating to more subjects than just the latest popular songs and Twitter drama.

>>236
I blame the teto/shitgu spammers for the decline in quality

>>237
And by Teto spammer I don't mean the guy who would post about 20 Teto songs per thread. I miss that guy actually. Hope he's okay and that he eventually finds this place.

>19 users lurking in the last 10 minutes
First time i see this many people online. There were 117 unique IPs when this post was created and now there's 947. 39 is growing…

>>291
Oh this was back when /g/ was cafe

>>293
When diva had a separate board too

>>292
/fic/ was always dead, it was removed for a reason. No one used it for posting fanfics anyway.

This thread makes me happy. Just 117 UIPs when it was made and now we're at 1030 and now this site makes OC almost all the time.

So with the Q&A bringing new people what should we expect? I know the average Vocaloid fan who has never been on an imageboard before will probably come here and find something to complain about seeing as how 39ch lets you say whatever's on your mind without getting B& for it (unless it's political or ragebait). Not to mention a lot of people here are 20-something year old fujos who crawled out of AO3 and those kinds of places and vocatwt despises those kinds of people.

>>378
The edginess of the site might also put some people off maybe. For example we have a joke UTAUloid born on 9/11, the "Shota shota island" song is constatly memed on here, and like 4chan and most imageboards "fag" and "retard" are used a lot (mostly in a neutral way rather than an offensive one).

Dunno, I'm just saying that vocatwt will not be happy when they find this place lol.

>>378
>>379
Every "chan" imageboard ever has those things you mentioned, even Uboachan which is probably the tamest imageboard i can think of. Canon was a 2channel user so she is likely used to this stuff, but people coming from other sites should know what they're getting into. Beside it's not like we're this creepy dangerous place that you should never visit, we're mostly apathetic to most community drama. The zaako thing was briefly discussed there and then the next day no one cared.

>>378
Meh, those people aren't gonna stick around anyway

>>380
This btw. 2channel isn't too different in that regard and a lot of people forget that most of the popular UTAUloids and Fanloids come from there.

>>378
We've always accepted people regardless of where they come as long as they adapt to the site's culture

>>378
>>379
Anyone who complains about 39chan is the type of person who thinks that every imageboard = 4chan. We might be the "class clown" of Vocaloid forums and do slightly edgy shit sometimes but at the end of the day we're just that - a Vocaloid forum, and drama-free at that.

>>392
Agree with this anon

>>392
The average social media normie cant tell other imageboards apart from 4chan even if they look different or have a different culture lmao.
>>383
I personally don't care, i like to see this site grow and have its own history with all the utauloids we've made and now the interviews. If people can't respect board culture they get banned.

Today we hit the record for least active day on 39ch with only 9 posts.

>>447
its over
kidding, we'll be fine

The ideal number of posts per day is 39.

This thread is pretty fascinating to me considering just a few months after it was made, 39chan would become a pretty important site for Vocaloid culture. About 100+ posts this week, original fanloids and "leekaloids", producers born out of this imageboard like shieru-P and Meaty-P, "famous" lurkers like Majin and Takoyaki Donuts, a Q&A with the creator of one of the most beloved Vipperloid and an upcoming interview with the creator of a fanloid that's been featured in the fucking PS3 game.

Seriously, 39chan is more culturally relevant in the Vocaloid community than a lot of people think.

>>505
Regardless though, I feel like 39chan has its own niche appeal. It's not your typical forum like Vocaverse, it's an imageboard, like 4chan or the Japanese 2chan (the latter being where a lot of Vipperloids/Fanloids originated from). And despite there being rules to prevent the toxicity associated with those types of sites it's still a bit more unfiltered than most Vocaloid discussion sites. So I wonder if that contributes to it. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I just like that 39chan is this niche yet popular thing in the Vocasphere.

>>506
The vipperloids and fanloids came from 2channel not 2chan/Futaba. As far as I know only Mikudayo came from Futaba.

>>505
Culturally relevant and important to who? Vocaloid fans that are also imageboard fans? I don't mean to diminish the accomplishments, because I think it's cool to see some outreach being done and a decent niche developing, but it's really limited to just that: a niche.

>>514
NTA but in general this site has accomplished more than a lot of the vocaloid forums i used when i was a kid. I dont recall VO having QnAs with anyone major or UTAUs/fanloids created not by one person but multiple people in the community

it is indeed niche though and i hope it remains that way

>>519

>>521
Technically there's not a lot that's "by VO", just stuff that was made by VO users. If you include that then you have at least most of the Engloids and Mili iirc

>>522
So the UTAUs in TCC have a chance of becoming realloids, nice

>>523
Some anon here said they were close with some of the Vocatone members so you never know

>>523

Why has /leek/ been so inactive this week?

>>619
>this question again
/leek/ is as active as the general Vocaloid community itself is. If nothing happens there, nothing happens on /leek/. We also don't have as many shitposters as /jp/ to keep the board active (not that you'd want them here either though).

Sucks to see /leek/ and 39chan as a whole this inactive. But you can't really blame the site when nothing fugging happens in the fandom.

>>658
Osana being finished, Hioka retweeting the TCC page (influx of new users ig), Rei getting a V6 and Teto SV2 all in the same week.

>>659
This and the fact that its November so less people are busy

20260115_0….jpg - 31.30 KB (342x406)

So now we have around 13 users online for most of the day with around 100+ posts per day. Did someone promote 39chan somewhere? It's the first time I'm seeing this site with this level of activity. What's crazier is nothing interesting has happened within the Vocaloid community itself outside of some shitflinging that was only briefly discussed here. Hmm...

>>700
probably caused by the kafu leak

>>700
things have been slowing down recently but yeah im surprised 39chan was so active for such a long period. 100+ PPD isn't very common for altchans, let alone themed ones like 39.

>>76
Old post is old but i completely agree and im glad that this site is mostly comprised of forumbros and the kind of jaypees that are respectable and not here to start shit

>>939
>isn't very common
100 PPD isn't a very high bar. I can think of about half a dozen without actually looking at stats, and certainly there are more than that. Hell, I know of private imageboards with forced anon clearing about 75-100 PPD.

banban-des….gif - 338.14 KB (498x429)

>>941
That's true but the other ones i use (without counting 39chan) barely make it to 20 anymore.

>>942
Yeah, longevity matters a lot more for PPD. Anyone can boot up something with Wakaba et al and launch an altchan, but few last after they inevitably slow to a crawl and a disinterested admin shuts it down.

39chan has a better shot, probably (I check here more than most other sites), but it's not like Mikuchan didn't have healthy activity at one point too.

ClipboardI….png - 14.93 KB (1156x169)

>>943
NTA but 39chan has already shut down once. After that it was picked up by a team and brought back. Considering figamin is a member and he has owned Wapchan for about 4 years now I have faith that it'll remain up for at least a decade now. T39-era 39chan has been relatively stable compared to the period before that.

As weird as it sounds i kinda miss a lot of the /leek/ namefags before the site became popular. I wonder what menheranon and kaitoanon are up to these days.

>>943
>Wakaba
Honestly not the greatest idea to use that in >current year
Jschan, Vichan and (maybe) Sriracha are better and more up to date.
