If the screen is massive i wont mind honestly

July is really early for Magical Mirai. I'd have to look but I think that might be the earliest it's ever been.

>>1088
Whelp, people already coping about how much better screens look anyway. Even when the stage is built around them it's still Miku dancing against a black void, the whole point was that it felt like she was actually there on stage.

>>1090
It’s not too early. There’s been past Mirai’s where Osaka took place in July. Pretty normal tbh.

>>1091
I mean what else can you really do

>>1091
It is what it is. My question is why do this now and why not 10 years ago?.

>>1091
Screens CAN look good if they put effort into making them look good. The reason they're so hated in the west is because Mikuexpo 2024 gave everyone a terrible first impression.

>>1092
What are you talking about? The earliest Osaka show was on August 9th last year and in 2019.

Since you made me check, this is definitely the earliest it has been. The closest would be Sendai last year on August 1st. The exception would be Sapporo in 2022 when it spilled over to early 2023.

>>1088
How does Japan feel about the led screens?

>>1097
Not much different than the gaijin. Some dislike it and others are okay with it. You can type "マジカルミライ LED" on Twitter and just AI translate the tweets that come up.

>>1098
Well see how it goes because apparently they show their displeasure through merchandise sales, which is where most of the money comes in for the concerts. I know I'm only go to one show and probably not buying anything other than a single light stick

>>1724

Anyone actually going? I forgot about the lottery results last week and I ended getting them when I checked my email today

>>1724
Good selection of songs. Sadly can't go.

>>1756
I’m kinda surprised they list the songs that will be played before the concert. I like it personally, but a good amount (like half or more) of people I’ve talked to at Expo don’t want to be “spoiled” before the show.

>>2029
If they don't want to get spoiled can't they just, you know, not look at it?

>>2029
They always do that plus a few songs that are surprises, and then the "daily" songs that change between shows (usually classic songs + older MM songs.) But yeah like anon said, just don't look it up if you don't want to be spoiled at all.

I don't mind it personally but I feel like not knowing what the setlist is going to be is part of the fun of concerts for me (in general, not just miku ones)

So they posted some promotional footage which also shows the hamamatsu stage design with new LED:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=KwJxuiOXVN0 [Embed]

Also saw some photos before the concert start and it seems like the screen and the frame around it barely fits to stage in hamamatsu so they will probably use more props around the screen in osaka and tokyo.I think the background looks cool, they seem to be trying to implement what they learned from Pokemiku. Only thing I don't like from this limited footage is calls popping up while there is a background, I unironically think call pop ups look better with just dark void at bg.

Supposedly it's to cut costs and be able to transfer the equipment more efficiently
I don't mind the screens personally, so long as the visuals are good. This is a Mirai not a MikuExpo so i'd expect them to put more effort into that this time. Are there any pics of the shows so far?.

>>2855
>Supposedly
I'm not sure why you're responding to a months old post with a guess. It's true that LED can better support multiple venue sizes, but Crypton has always rented their DILAD projection equipment and LEDs are a far more expensive upfront cost.
There's a whole thread about screen tech with shots from this year's Mirai: >>885

>>2870
Did you get to meet Pino himself? He strikes me as a chill, fun ojisan

>>2881
It was on their Instagram account

>>2882
you need to be really unlucky for security to directly see you but JP folk are really strict when it comes to this type of stuff so best case scenario would probably be them just scolding you or tapping on your shoulder. I saw some just calling for the security, they are kinda insane about these rules but it seems to mostly work.

>>2884
I wonder if it's seen as a form of piracy

>>2886
Probably, they love to protect corpos in general but in case of concerts it probably has to do more with just disrespecting others and making it less fun for everybody else which I can understand as during expo NJ, rows ahead of me were literally just people recording the whole thing while also trying to chant with their other hand. It kinda made me question if people were there to actually enjoy the event or were they just there to get a good footage that will be used as a status symbol or something like that.

>>2890
Maybe that's the case for some people but I used to record concerts just to relive that experience later. Stopped doing it recently because these days you can look it up on Youtube and someone already uploaded the full thing.

>>2883
Yeah, you just go up to him and he's says "thanks for the buying my stuff, oh cute aimaina" and I like to think he at least remembered me from the previous years (tall as fuck gaijin that can speak Japanese kinda stands out I think) since he just spoke to me in Japanese right away.

>>2891
Well, with Vocaloid concerts its different because no fan footage means you gotta wait for an official DVD or streaming releaze

Unfortunately a handful of people were "protesting" about Miku not having enough screen time. Why do they do this?

>>3006
Context? Isn't Miku always the focus of these concerts?

>>3006
Keep the vagueposting on Xitter and provide some context mate

>>3007
It was happening last year too. Basically, some people don't like the fact that everyone else is getting more screen time. I've mostly seen these fits from Chinese attendees, though. There was one guy on Twitter last year who was furious that the contest-winning song used all 6 characters when it was very clear that CFM wanted people to really use the Super Pack if they had it. It got so bad that CFM had to start limiting replies. Literally every tweet he'd reply harrassing them.

Miku is still the main focus; she still has the most songs. Basically all the uproar is complaining to complain; it's not like she's not turning 20 next year.

>>3011
That just sounds like extreme waifufagging tbh.
Miku has been the focus of Crypton concerts for decades at this point, let the other members of the Crypton 6 have the spotlight for once.

>>3012
Yep, pretty much

>>3011
It wouldn't surprise me if it's actually from Chinese fans. Some of them don't like Cryptonloids outside Miku at all. Back in 2019 they were also complaining about a concert in China because they played decorator and concert was mostly promoted around "Luo Tianyi x Miku" so other 5 was technically "stealing" screen time of the duo for them. I think it's a loud minority more than anything tho as bilibili collabs still include all 6 of the cryptonloids every time so I doubt they would do that if there was an actual hate towards the others by majority.

There was a tweet from a JP fan and that's mostly where I stand. in the end these concerts are really big and fancy ads for what crypton is selling. Their main purpose is to move both merch and gain new producers who will buy their voicebanks so it only makes sense for them to have some diversity to show off. Every IP has it's poster child but they are mostly there to attract avg people outside the community and create some mindshare rather than actually taking all the spotlight and leave nothing for the rest. It's not like others are really getting close to what Miku is in any way so I doubt taking away all they have will help anyone.

>>3024
They show some of those ads before the show, too, as everyone is coming in. At the same time, the contests also just allow for new blood to show their skills, so I'm not too hard pressed if part of it is to partly advertise.

On that matter. I'm assuming the Mirai Song Contest will be starting shortly after Mirai ends like last year, but I am fully expecting a Miku V6 or Rin/Len NT song to win since they are the latest two products. No doubt there will be anniversary theming too.

>>3034
Is this a Vocacolle 2026 reference

>>3035
Yeah the comment was "I might get kicked out of the venue for this"

I wonder if the Japanese fandom is aware that recording MikuExpo with a 3DS is almost tradition here at this point

>>3038
Is it really that common

There was a timing fault at the 12 PM show. Total dead stop for about 5-10 minutes after the prior song desynced.
Nothing serious, more interesting than anything.

>>3040
More a general concert tradition now. For Miku Expo there’s always a good amount of people with their 3DSes if not recording the concert, just streetpassing and playing project mirai.

>>3041
Definitely a rare occurrence, at least it got sorted out. I heard it was only 2 songs in, right?

On the subject, it definitely seems to be Chinese fans from this tweet, so stay safe if you look like you’re Crypton staff I guess.

Chinese fans of always had a bit of a bad rep over the years, but to see it escalate so much the last few years is scary.

>>3045
Wew. We're hitting levels of waifufagging that have never been hit befofe.

I saw a video of OwataP performing Paradichlorobenzene on the piano at Mirai. Did anybody see it live?.

Screenshot….jpg - 42.89 KB (976x552)

Another Mirai is done, Rin might be the biggest winner of this MM other than Miku. LED screen and overall stage looks way better during concert than the pre concert setup photos, complaints about "backgrounds and effect being too much" are true for some songs tho, I don't know how and why it happened but some songs just start of with perfect amount of effects and background stuff but as song progresses new stuff keeps appearing and it can become too much after a certain point so if they cut back on that it would be great. 3rd city for next year will also be Hiroshima, not sure which venue they can potentially use there but guess we will have to wait and see.

>>3063
>Hiroshima
HOLY SHIT YES I can just ride a train there the day of

>>3066
it was good imo, people are gonna have differing opinions about LED but majority seems positive about the change after this Mirai. Also seeing some old songs getting upgrades was quite nice. There were some fans demanding more Miku songs for some reason but they were just a loud minority in general. I'm sure someone already uploaded the whole thing on youtube so everyone can probably check it out. I would buy the streaming ticket if yo ucan tho to support Migu economics, it was like $15 or something anyway.

Saw on the jay that people were doing protests with signs outside the venues, which is kinda crazy. Someone in this thread said it was the Chinese but the signs seem to be in Japanese.

>>3068
I think people assume it's Chinese fans as they are notorious for treating other loids like leeches but it can just be people from both sides being weird.

>>3068
>>3069
In fairness, I don’t think you’d want to have signs in Chinese if you’re protesting an event in Japan. You want people to read your signs, you print it in the language people speak in the country you’re in.

I guess some people really take what they have for granted. I get excited every time a non-Miku Vocaloid shows up. I'd kill to hear a song like Meltdown live.

>>3078
same here. never had the opportunity to hear meltdown live.

>>3077
But anon how am I supposed to see Miku if I don’t attend? How am I supposed to protest if I don’t spend my money and see Miku despite not liking anyone but Miku? I need people to see me complain.

The consequences of the Vocaloid fandom becoming less otaku-aligned and moreso idol/stan culture aligned. Sigh.

>>3081
I don't want to put all the blame to Chinese but this "solo idol" culture is also coming from their side. Their fan culture is heavily focused on solo stanning and understandably majority of them are "loyal" to Miku. Also virtual singers being literally used for propaganda there probably makes some of those fans think of these silly/cute mascots more as figures that are representing something.

Honestly, probably the most important thing Crypton did with Miku was keeping her mascot out of politics at the time. Events like expo and MWY would probably have never happened if Miku was something closer to Tianyi.

Now that magimira is over, do we have any expectations for 27?

You can have favorites but that's no reason to hate on everyone else. They're Miku's friends...

It kind of is, because they release them on Blu-ray/DVD/Streaming months after the shows. So my guess is they see phone recordings of their shows the way we saw bootleg camcorder recordings of films in the 90's and 2000's.
