possibly, by the "friend audios" (AKA, the recordings), he means that the friend recorded the base phonemes for the voicebank so they can be used as an input, and then several RVC models of iku were created, some with the base sound modified, in order to create the phonemes for this iku voicebank.

this means that some of the vocal modes from the voicebank may have been mixed with the voice of the friend in question as well, apart from using the reference recordings for input.

I don't really care for the new voicebank tbh. The charm of Iku is that she sounds like she's masturbating while singing, she's a literal porn vocalsynth made for use in ero games.
