I want to show my UTAU, his name is AXE MONO. He likes guro and dislikes wet textures. His voice is pretty gentle, which probably just means I need to try putting more energy into my recordings next time I give him a voicebank lol. I feel like he would get along with both Tori and Shinya.

I'm indecisive about the hair under his hat as of late, it's been looking a lot more long and layered lately. Anyways, I made & originally voiced him in 2020, releasing him in 2021. He got a complete redesign and sounded entirely different when I re-recorded him in 2024 though. Also sorry about the late reply!

Thanks, I really want to get started on some sort of cover again, I have a lot of WIPs (both of covers and original songs) I've yet to complete, and TORIKO is such a great sounding voicebank I want to eventually brave the 20 minute render times for real (and work on my recorded but not configured voicebanks for Sanoto... If you're still in contact with VP, you could ask them if they're okay with Diffsinger, then you could parallel train him with an actual Japanese dataset. Can't link to an example, but I've seen it done.

Depending on the options in your area, you might be able to rent or borrow equipment as well. A basic entry level mic like a Shure SM58 is more than good enough for Utau recording. (For non-USB microphones you will also need an audio interface to connect it to your PC though)

I agree that anons did a fantastic job with the character. In the past with CV test recordings, I was drafting sweet-type designs, and it just didn’t feel right. a few things to add on to this that i've learned while making one

1. hating your voice is such a normal phenomenon that wikipedia has an entire article about it: it's called voice confrontation
2. after oto-ing for a while you just get used to it via exposure. if your voice makes you cringe then remember that cringing, while uncomfortable and might make you feel like you're drowning or suffocating, won't actually kill you, so chillax
3. the engine will probably change how it sounds enough that you won't hate hearing the final product at all. my voice makes me cringe, but i can listen to it in the UTAU engine while testing it over and over no problem
4. if you don't like your voice because it belongs to YOU and your self-esteem is just that terrible like me you don't need to worry about it since people aren't gonna pass judgement on your person based purely on your voice. they might even have very nice things to say about your voice instead.

still a few issues and it sounds kinda bad when not using moresampler but i'm sick of working on it so as far as i'm concerned it's done. all the baffling oto problems i was having went away after deleting all related vlabeler files and starting fresh
don't have any plans for this besides maybe multipitch in the future, if anons want the voicebank for anything they can have it
