I wanted to make this thread so people can discuss the process of creating UTAUs, ask for help OTOing or find voice providers for their characters.

No dicksword links allowed.
>>
by the way, this thread is for regular UTAUs not "leekaloids"
>>
Long shot in the dark but is there a way to convert a CV to CVVC or VCV with scripts instead of having to do all the work manually?
>>
>>29783
Typically a CV recording won’t contain the data needed for a CVVC or VCV bank, since won’t have vowel->consonant transitions

>>29783
no, there isn't
>>29786
technically you can reverse the samples and put them together like this guy does, but only manually
>>
>>29788
That’s creative, I like it.
>>
>>29788
I've seen someone do this for Ichigo Yukaine or whatever her name was.

Windows version is in the works which is neat
>>
as a total newbie, how does someone decide which recording method to use (CV, VCV, CVVC etc)? is it just a matter of personal opinion? am i overthinking things and should just follow wasteland's guide for now?
planning on making a JP voicebank if that matters
>>
>>33919
It’s generally personal opinion. I would decide the tradeoffs as:
>CV: fastest/easiest to record, least smooth
>CVVC: medium speed to record; relatively more complicated .oto process; good smoothness; final bank basically requires OpenUTAU to use
>VCV: slowest to record; .oto has a lot of entries but not complicated; good smoothness; final bank easier to use with classic UTAU; a little less flexibility with pronunciation than CVVC
>>
>>33919
Basically what the other anon said. It kind of depends on what you want.
>>
>>33919
CV is probably best for your first bank, CVVC or VCV later on when you figure out how OTOing works, if you're motivated to make another. I strongly prefer CVVC, personally.

CVVC in general just sounds better than CV and VCV in my opinion, especially with Hifisampler

for some reason my CV keeps wanting to turn t's into 'a ta' 'e te' etc. i don't have this problem with any of the other samples
tried re-recording different ways and re-oto several times, am using felinewasteland's first voicebank tutorial that uses 2-mora. i feel like i'm missing something stupidly obvious
>>
>>34739
Move the yellow section and green Ovp line to the right. You want the previous note entirely covered by the yellow section, here there is a teeny bit hanging out

okay thank you, still having problems with one of them but the rest work, originally i had them like that but then the tutorial picture looked different and i figured i was doing it wrong. possibly i'm following the 'overlap' section of the tutorial pictures too literally
>>
Question. Is the original, outdated UTAU software still a requirement to make voicebanks or is there a way to make them in OpenUTAU?. Because otoing in that is a pain in the ass.
>>
>>35072
People use a separate program, Vlabeler, for .otoing now. I've made voicebanks before without touching the original UTAU program whatsoever. Once you have the .oto, character.txt, .wavs etc in one folder you just install them onto OpenUTAU like any other VB.
