I recently found out that despite being a voicebank from 2012 there are only 6 covers with her on VocaDB, which makes me wonder if she was one of those UTAUs that no one cared about on release and became lost with time. I know that 2ch hated her and consider her one of their worst Vipperloids.

It's probably because she's really hard to use, you would need to oto her yourself since she doesn't even have a bad oto, she has none. The finished voicebank is a lost media and the vcv voicebank is made by a fan out of utau renders and it's not that good either...

I went ahead and did a comparison with my own results from best to worst in my opinion + the fan-made VCV.

In order:
1. Wordline-R gender -40
2. Worldline-R no flag
3. Hifisampler
4. Moresampler
5. Worldline-R Fanmade VCV

I used the middle pitch only. As you can hear, there are problem samples that are mostly noise. The lower and upper pitches might sound better. I found the lowest pitch to sound very masculine though.

I assumed that the VCV was made out of UTAU renders, but due to the mispronunciation issues, I'm inclined to think it's an RVC. It also renders slightly off-pitch, which I never experienced before, lol.

I think it might be interesting to attempt reviving her since /leek/ loves butt jokes and her voice is kinda cute. She definitely needs sample processing and a new oto.

I decided to oto the voicebanks as is for now, 1/3 pitches done. The "u" sounds are really bad without the denoising.

What sample rate are they in? Because if that's the issue causing the low pitches I can easily write a batch script to convert them to their intended sample rate with ffmpeg.

What I did - rough oto.ini, portrait, set up the other 2 pitches as voice colors. I didn't do anything to the samples, so keep that in mind, she's still laggy.

I was hoping someone with a better knowledge of sound design could take a look at denoising her. Or if someone could run her samples through adobe audio enhancer, I think it could be even better (it's free and online, but not available in my country )

Just checked and the sample rate is 48000Hz when it should be 44100Hz (anything higher will sound distorted or pitched down in UTAU). I'll write a batch script to normalize the audios and see if I can denoise them somehow (there's TV noise in the background).

You run the original files through the enhancer as a single audio file and then use that to train an RVC, then you can use that to make an "upgraded" voicebank. I believe that's how the anon that was working on Tonarine Sai for H-U Project made her voicebank.

I'm not exactly against this but Google made it painfully hard to use RVC on Colab and Weights shut down a while back. It'll take me a bit to find alternatives but I think I can do it.

I say we do RVC. As far as i know RVC enhanced voicebanks aren't exactly looked down on by the community. Adachi Rei has a couple RVC enhanced voicebanks approved by missile himself for example, and no one had problems with them. Though it's hard to get permission from Denne's creators since they're all anonymous.

I suggest we work on improving her CV for now, and then use the utau to diffsinger conversion system. I think that's less morally grey than RVC.
