So far, the only notes we have are that it should be denpa style, and someanon who wanted the lyrics to include "Now is Riko the most overlooked? Yessir! Now is Riko the most overbooked? Yessir" as a reference to Last Call. I personally suggest it might be fun for the general premise to be about an idol who deludes herself into believing she has fans.

>>26449
I'm cool with this

>>26449
Yeah I think the song should be boastful but in a way that makes it a bit more obvious that she's delusional. Also...
>Denpa song with a Kanye reference

This is gonna end up being produced by either Tako or Meaty isn't it

I wouldn't be shocked if several people already want to tune, but what style of tuning do we want? Mine is pretty inspired by mid 2010s English Vocaloid so I'm not sure if that'd work with denpa. Plus I think another anon already asked?

Maybe could actually do a few genres in one song since denpa can be chaotic sometimes anyway unless it is meant the more old school moe song. Like start out more J-pop but then it just gets more frantic and entrancing instrumentally at some point and maybe have some calm parts in some other genre like hyperpop or a modern city pop between unless it was meant more closer to old school moe song. Just throwing out an idea. I dont have a clear vision and this is late night talk for me.

>>26451
I feel like it would be important to be careful how her delusions of fame are presented. If boastful it will too easily come off narcissistic. I remember seeing an episode of Dr Phil this guy claiming he was a music producer that worked with big artists like Beyoncé, that asshat Jerry Springer-esque fake therapist accused him of just being a lying narcissist when to me he was clearly actually delusional, though he was big headed about it. I'd rather more like it portrayed as being flattered but relatively humble about having "fans" to not be too over top all the time and avoid seeming just full of herself. For similar reasons I'm really not for a Kanye reference even before getting into other issues with him and how it will attract /pol/yp types.

>>26460
I think tuning should come after some melody or lyrics are tested out. Then can adjust as needed later in.

toriko-lyr….png - 34.62 KB (501x945)

It's 3AM and I just slapped together some cheesy ass lyrics based on random denpa I've heard and the Toriko info page. I'm starting to get a headache and I need to work tomorrow so I hope this was worth it. I hope this is a respectfully unhinged characterizatoin and is not bad in a way that I will regret when I wake up. Uhhh I can't post a txt okay I'll make it a picture... goodnight

Tried to follow the assignment with the music genre shifting idea and put together an absolutely barebones composition. The meowing instrument is a placholder for TORIKO's vocals. Absolutely everything here is also a placeholder. Still want to fix up some notes here and there but otherwise if everything is fine then I can drop the .midi for anyone working on vocals. If anyone else wants to take the mantra for producing beyond this I can also share the .flp.

I started working on this before I saw anons lyrics, so I wasn't really sure how to implement their flow or anything very easily. Lyric people might be able to help figure out where to fit some stuff in though.

>>26465
Gave me idea intro could start with a sort of background sound sample then distant sounding music plays getting louder more clear or the samples become more musical and used as part of the song then Toriko could be all like "where did this music coming from? I guess that's my cue!".

>>26464
We could have a few people try lyrics then have a vote on what is liked more then start working on improving lyrics from there.

Can someone send a vocal reference like what SAWTOWNE did with Cure Shot before replacing his vocals with Miku's

80862721f1….gif - 5481.09 KB (208x374)

I propose tiktok kuso style at least on part of the song

>>26465
can you give midi to the vocal part? gonna make it easier for them i think
sounds cute and catchy i like it

>>26465
Always get a weird feeling from recognizing an artist or producer I follow on this site. It's a small world.

>>26479
How on earth? I thought this site only had a userbase of like, 50 people. Kind of embarrassed realizing anyone went out of their way to check my channel, haha.

>>26488
I guess so. The unique users count on the homepage says we have had 4,115 posters but that doesn't mean how many users actively use the site, and i'm sure it also counts dynamic IPs (basically IPs that change each day because not everybody has a static IP address).

I will hopefully be able start writing my version of lyrics later either tonight or around starting Sunday. I am not inspired feeling enough right now to know how to start it but I have the idea of changing the focus to be more like TORIKO directing it at her "fans" like an appreciation song to them. I also want to try to add a small bit of Japanese lines to it so it will better have a chance of getting attention of producers in Japan so more songs will be made with her.

>>26501
I am actually working on this now as promised. I am writing a chorus in Japanese first because that will be the hardest not being a speaker but I am surprised I am not doing too horrible as expected since I am using all tools as my disposal. I may show progress once I get a few more lines to check the work if I messed up bad. If I wind up with a line she references herself what should TORIKO use as her pronoun? Is atashi a good fit?

>>27014
Probably something cute and girly, she doesn't strike me as a tomboy

I have not gotten to the English parts I was planning still since I have not figured out the starting lines and I am more used to writing poetry so formatting a song is mostly new to me but here is what I have so far for the possible awful grammar Japanese part. The repetition number can be adjusted for length needed. The idea I had going for this part she trying to figure out why some people she thinks are fans do not act warmly to her and just thinks they have a bad day or are being tsundere. Tsun-run is a term I made up thinking it would be fitting. If you make the tsun quicker or harder and run slower or softer it might help people.understand the intended meaning.

ツンツンしなくていいよ
Tsun‑tsun shinakute ii yo
(You don't have to be prickly)
ルンルンしよう
Run-run shiyo
(Let's be cheerful)
[x2]
ツン→ルン
Tsun→run
[x2]
ツン→ルン、見よう
Tsun→run, miyo
(Tsun→run, let’s see)

The more I think about this the more I realize how minuscule of a number this is. I have multiple personal websites and I'm pretty sure most of them have had 10x-100x this amount of unique IP addresses at this point, and some of them aren't as old as 39chan.

Anyways, I'll probably upload the midis in the next couple days, I've been a bit too occupied recently to do it any earlier.

>>27070
Unique IPs here are only counted when someone makes a post. If we counted lurkers then the number would probably be a lot higher.

>>27071
That makes a lot more sense. I was thinking it seemed like a kind of low number of all time IPs for how active the site is.

I'm trying

>>27530
original lyrics? also this is really good, it needs a cool music video to go along with it

>>27531
Yep. I might need help later. The concept is basically stolen from No One Knows My Plan by TMBG.

>>27533
would you mind releasing the stems and bpm later on? i'd like to add onto it.

>>27530
I like the lyrics, they are cute. The sparkly sounds I feel are drowned out too much in instrumentals but that's just me.

>>27064
Oh damn it has been a week already? I didnt get any further in my attempt.

>>26465
what about this one is this going to be used

>>27534
I won't be able to work on this more until next week so here they are now. BPM 169 https://files.catbox.moe/f0zjel.zip

I forgot to include the bridge I was working on but it's like <20% done anyway. Thank you for your help.

>>27618
The beat without the synths reminds me a bit of The Adults Are Talking by The Strokes. I'll see what i can do with this. I'll probably remix it and make loops out of it and see if you want to implement any of my ideas into the final song.

meatypremix.mp3 - 1343.93 KB

>>27619
anyway not sure if something like this is what you had in mind. i adjusted the mix a little and also added my own flair to it.

>>27621
You are really fucking versatile dude

>>27621
btw i would suggest having another loid sing the same lines, heavily autotuned and with the volume down to around -30db for the backing vocals.

This might wind up turning into multiple songs from the different directions everyone is going.

>>27621
I really like how you mixed the vocals + maybe bit of autotune, fits the vibe

we need a suiren original

>>27628
Since DiffSinger is a pain in the ass to set up I wonder if we'll ever get any EN UTAU voicebanks. As in regular UTAU voicebanks you know, without AI.

>>27621
You made it sound like Sawtowne

finally got off my ass to export this midi. 200BPM and its in like A# major i think. feel free to move it up or down an octave if the vocals sound weird in that range

>>27682
Oh it does look kinda like there's a few other demos in here since I last checked that are kinda branching off into their own thing, so feel free to disregard this if it's no longer needed after all lol.

>>27683
3’s better than 1. Tori desires sustenance

Hopeful bump

Thought id be more inspired after having a trip but no.

>>29072
Where'd you go? Or are we talking about a different kind of trip

It is a Toriko thread afterall sooo…

Still on "write the rest of the song" but posting WIP anyways. I appreciate lyrics help (outside the hook especially) but everything is still kind of fungible

>>29125
Any plans to release it to the public when its finished? and will Meaty do the final mix?

>>29128
I don't have a music page right now so if someone who does art/PVs/etc. would rather post it that's fine with me. Same with MeatyP doing the final mix. I still have a lot of work to do before it gets to the point where it can be passed off though.

>>29133
It's never too late to become a VocaP. And this site definitely needs more of those.

>>29125
Uhm i kinda need the lyrics you came up with before in text form some of the lyrics I have trouble making out but that's just me. Might help me figure something out since hearing it now without anything some words might pop into me. I might give it a shot *downs more booze*

>>29137
seconding

>>29137
Good call, it’s inaudible. Here you go:
[Hook 1]
Precious and pathetic
Come on, don’t you get it?
Neurotic-yet-relatable girls are in

Pick a part, I’ll play it
I’m privy to the mission(/I’ll do it for my mission)
I listen more than anyone else(/I get it more than everyone else does)

[Hook 2]
You can’t read the plans I’ve written
That list the means to every end

Tell me that you miss this
Don’t you wanna kiss this
Purely precious miss?

>>29140
All this time I thought it was "precious mess" which I actually got stuck on and think sounds cuter since it would be like she is saying she is a mess but precious anyway which also fits with the "precious and pathetic" part which is why i heard it that way.

>>29140
I thought it was "I heard its for my mission"

Also reminder that you can adjust her tension in OpenUTAU to make her singing less samey

>>29125
>>29140
>>29142
Okiez here I go with this thing *sips beer*

The stars above they seem so bright
but I could never reach them

Lighthouses blinding to my eyes
Can't see the horizon now

I don't know what is wrong with me
But at least I fucking try

Hey you looking at me from far above
I bit my tongue at the wrong time

I guess I never win easily but at least i can still cry

Been waiting for you
To confess your love for me soon
But that's only a distant dream
That may never come true

(Hook here)

.....uhmmmm may have to figure more later for second half not sure if any you like the direction I am going and my head is hurty

So who's gonna do the MV

>>29142
Good idea, I’ll swap it.
>>29143
Looks like I messed around with some of the lyrics in the voice editor since they sounded awkward. What you heard is correct. I was trying to get to a “Toriko knows a secret we don’t” kind of thing without overcomplicating it.
>>29145
Thanks for posting, I’ll add them when I can. This is a lot tighter thematically than what I would’ve come up with for the first part.

>>29160
>Good idea, I’ll swap it.
Okay cool
>Thanks for posting, I’ll add them when I can. This is a lot tighter thematically than what I would’ve come up with for the first part.
I didnt exactly put it in a very narrative order or have any plan just went with what instinctively popped in my head to match the music close as I heard it might fit while trying to keep it in similar enough themes. I am not sure if some parts can be swapped around and still sound right but if current order works for you in then that's good.

>>29160
Opps I jist realized there is a small chance you may mistake my little comment before typing up lyrics on the fly as part of the lyrics. I was hoping the sipping beer part would give it away it wasnt since I had mentioned I was trying to get tispy to be looser in flow. Just clarifying so you dont get confused on alignment of lyric to melody.

bump

>>29125
How is it coming along?

>>34262
Hasn't been worked on in a while afaik

>>34262
I’m trying to have the entire song structure outlined and with rough instrumentation before posting it again

>>34266
Do you still need help with lyrics or did you figure rest out yourself?
