What's your favorite version of Vocaloid?
>>
V2 introduced Hatsune Miku, arguably the most important Vocaloid and the reason we're all here in the first place. But V3 gave us so many good characters... IA, Lapis, Flower, Oliver, etc.
>>
For me it's definitely V2
Best sound, best voicebanks
>>
>>24677
I still like V2’s sound the most, I think. It’s pleasantly chunky.
>>
In terms of sound V2 is the best but if we're talking about voicebanks my vote goes towards V3
V6 would be on par with V3 if not for the fact that every voicebank sounds insanely noisy.
>>
>>24687
v6 might be lower quality than the previous versions but its honestly not that bad
>>
I feel like V5 is a bit underrated as an engine. Not saying its the best but it definitely beats the older versions in various aspects (except voicebanks because dear god V5 is a complete failure in that regard).
>>
>>24677
V3 is best
>>
V4 is by far the easiest Vocaloid editor I've used, but in terms of voicebanks it's V2.

This

My wife started in V3 so V3 is my favorite

Vocaloid2 of course :)
>>

Let me guess, Yukari, IA or Flower
>>
>>25150
You would be 33.33333333333333...% correct
>>
>>25163
I'm betting on IA just because IAbro posts here more than Yukaribro.
>>
>>25164
I have to hide myself better

Did I guess right

I post fairly frequently between my phone and PC. I haven't made my presence known as a Yukaribro though. Still mentally ill though. Picrel

Don't worry we're all autistic here
>>
>>25168
One has to wonder what goes on inside that alien brain of hers
>>
>>25195
Not them but I'm not. I am like the opposite of autistic...though introverted and awkward at socializing in person from lack of experience.

Hello Yukaribro
>>25199
No thoughts, head empty
>>
As an engine V4 and V5 are best but if we're talking about voicebanks then V2 easily wins
>>
V3 for me
>>
What are /leek/'s thoughts on VOCALOID2 as an editor instead of the voicebanks it introduced?
>>
>>27857
It's alright, much better than V1 in fact, but i feel like V4 is the definitive version of the editor.
>>
>>25194
You have a Yukari body pillow?
>>
>>27859
The only official Yukari body pillow. I am a Yukaribro, I see wife, I buy
>>
>>27872
Official?
>>
>>27872
first time i'm hearing there's official body pillows based on vocaloids

so that neru dakimakura is still on the table huh? hioka, take notes
>>
>>27857
As an engine it's fine but i share anon's opinion that V3 and V4 are essentially better versions. The actual best editor though is V6 in my opinion.
>>
V6.
No i'm not being ironic.
>>
>>31459
Eh, I wouldn't call it the best but its pretty good. Voicebanks are lower quality but they're pretty varied, its easier to use than V1-4, and also Yamaha has won my heart with FAN-DING.
>>
>>24677
Favorite in terms of software: V4
Favorite in terms of characters: V2/V3
>>
>>27894
i STILL prefer the v4 editor. Specifically the cubase version.
>>
>>35364
A lot of producers do

character and voice-wise: V3. i'm nostalgic for the V3 era, and i love its wholoids
engine-wise: V2, i think it has the best synthesis overall, mostly the way it synthesizes consonants
voice quality-wise: V4, it has the best recordings and programming besides the last V3 VBs imo

overall, i mostly like V3
>>
>>35416
Funny to see Lui, Ring and Akikoloid here
>>
>>35371
This would be my answer if TuneLab let you use the 1.0 synthesis engine specifically for V1. I cant stand how 1.1 sounds so this is a dealbreaker for me

an era so good it even has the most interesting cases of cancelled and private VBs
>>
Does anybody here actually own V1?
>>
>>24677
I got into Vocaloid in 2015 so I have a lot of nostalgia for the V3 and V4 eras, but I also watched/listened to a lot of older stuff and played Project Diva so the V2 era is also great. Overall I'd say the V3 or V4 era though.
>>
>>36936
I do. I bought all the V1 Engloids when i was 14, and they were on a suuuper cheap sale bc Zero-G was about to discontinue them. Don't regret my choice one bit. :)
>>
>>36952
How's the editor compared to what came after?
>>
>>36958
Considering i dont have a Windows XP machine, and ive only kinda sorta used V2 to barely compare, its a little bit rough because theres a few glitches that wouldnt be there normally (like the editor crashing after you drag/hold a note for longer than like 5 whole seconds, not being able to draw pitch bends with my tablet pen without the UI crapping itself) but other than that its pretty good. The fact that you can use Resonance Filters thanks to V1's formant synthesis engine that isnt present in V2 and beyond is really cool. Theres not a TON of situations where its applicable but when it does help its great. One small thing is i do wish clicking on the piano roll played the actual notes like how it does in later versions. But yeah i love V1
>>
>>36939
I got into Vocaloid during the transition period between V3-V4 too. I wish V4 had lasted just a bit longer.
>>
V2 for voicebanks and V5 for actual software. I know people hate V5 for its lack of voicebanks but as a software it was better than V4.
