I really like the idea. You’d think the UTAU wiki would fill the purpose, but it doesn’t, and the UI isn’t great for downloads anyway. I support.
A lot of UTAU users don’t allow redistribution though. In that case would you link back to the original and accept some link rot?

I had an idea like this a while back but chose not to go through with it because voicebanks tend to be pretty big and I don't want them to take up too much space on the 39chan servers (TCC is already enough)

But i do support the idea

Internet Archive has voicebanks loaded onto it in the metadata section which you can find by filtering to "software" though the search results are not good to find stuff. File storage sites and torrent magnet links are other options to avoid having large amounts of files on the site's own server.

>>21878
i feel like the average vocal synth fan nowadays is like 12 and has probably has no idea how to torrent

>>21879
i am too lazy to delete that typo but you get what i meant

>>21879
Most of them probably have phones instead of computers, but some of them are contributing covers and stuff anyway. The dedicated ones would learn. It’s worth doing it the best way even if people have to learn it (not that it’s necessarily torrents, just think people will adapt to a good design)

>>21879
>>21881
>12
How are they making covers when they don't own the bank (outside of UTAU)? If it was a Pocaloid then they would know how to torrent surely? Unless they somehow convinced their parents, but back in my days this is unheard of.

>>21874
I love this idea a lot, I'd be down to upload my own UTAU if it ever comes out.
>>21879
I just don't torrent because I don't want to pay for a VPN, I'll use direct downloads like I have for Voicebanks since 2017, though.
Can confirm the fandom skews younger than ever but I became a fan at 10 and software user at 12 for UTAU and 13 for Vocaloid, so I can't judge even if I got into it due to a Miku Bad Apple cover and not Mesmerizer or anything. Funny enough I started with legal V2.
>t. 22

>>21883
No offense but where do you live that you need a VPN to torrent stuff? I've been doing it since i was like 9 and never got into legal trouble

>>21884
I tried pirating Skyrim years ago and got an ISP notice and since then I've been afraid of doing it again. I get it's a bit ridiculous though because generally Voicebank companies don't strike over that but the fear remains. At the time I was in California though

>>21882
A lot of modern vocaloid piracy websites offer direct non-torrent downloads. Check the list of links in >>18125 for example and only NEON and possibly the subreddit offer torrent downloads.

>>21879
I just meant torrents as a secondary. I prefer direct downloads since torrents can go stale where you have no seeders and torrenting exposes your IP address and some ISPs throttle it. Though torrenting doesn't require as much niche effort as using something like IPFS as storage since I never have used IPFS before.

>>21883
You can use i2p for torrenting as an alternative to a VPN but unless it is an i2p tracker you will be very limited on seeders you can connect to.

>>21879
My biggest shame is that I never learned to torrent and still use streaming piracy sites to watch my animes like an effing newfig. I really should download the shit that I like, but keeping it all organized is such a pain in the ass.

>>21888
If you're new my advice is don't install BitTorrent or uTorrent. Use good old qBit https://www.qbittorrent.org/

>>21889
This

A lot of newbies will recommend you virus filled garbage like uTorrent and Bittorrent, do NOT use them. You CAN get viruses from the torrents even if you use qBitTorrent and the files come from a malicious uploader, but the virus is NOT bundled with the software itself like it is with Bittorrent and uTorrent.

>>21876
>A lot of UTAU users don’t allow redistribution though
That could be handled with reports maybe?

>>21890
I used μTorrent in past without issue but I stopped using it after a tracker I was using stopped allowing it and I had not updated it so maybe I avoided this anyway.

>>21965
I don't recall if uTorrent was safe in the past because i only got into torrents around the late 2010's but I've had friends get some weird viruses from it, one of them had noise that played in the background.

Not sure if anyone here would be willing to buy a VPS and a domain just for this but if you wanted to, you could set up an instance of Shimmie (booru software), and have people upload an image of the UTAU with tags and the download link in the source. The MMD Archive despite being hosted on the (currently) dead Booru Project does this.

>>22046
I like this idea but let's face it no one here is going to pay for a website

>>22046
Or you can just use something like Nekoweb. Then just handle the files on storage sites linked to it to use. Then you dont have to pay domain registration or hosting.

>>22174
>Nekoweb
Isn't that for static sites like Neocities?

>>22175
Yeah but it has more features so I'm not sure what are the limitations.

>>22180
Shimmie requires PHP which Nekoweb does not support

>>22181
You don't really need to run a booru type site to use tags like an imagebooru does though so I don't get this.

>>22182
But you wouldn't have any way to allow users to post content. It would all depend on the site's master.

>>22182
Yeah but only you can add content to a static site. Regular users wouldn't be able to make accounts and post their own.

OP, the site you're describing already kinda exists
https://visingers.github.io/

>>23797
it only has 12 voicebanks tho

Why hasn't anyone ever made this? We have a site for browsing and downloading USTs/VSQs yet somehow a site to find UTAU voicebanks doesn't exist?

>>23852
>We have a site for browsing and downloading USTs/VSQs
we do??

>>23875
we have vocaloader
https://vocaloader.app/

>>23876
why did i never hear about this? :D :D

>>23876
i have a question though, is it really just for archiving usts / svps made by like the poster that uploads only? is reuploading other people's usts allowed if it says reproduction is allowed in the tos or will whoever hosts this site get mad

>>23886
Checked their TOS and there are no mentions of that

>>22729
They could submit by email. This would assure content is reviewed before posted.

A few days ago Puzzle said on Twitter that T39 (39chan staff) is planning on making a site that does this exact thing so all i gotta say is good luck, we really need an UTAU database so you'd be doing us UTAU producers a favor

>>24788
An utau database site by the same people who made 39chan was not in my 2026 bingo but it is a damn good idea

>>24797
I briefly mentioned my interest in making a site like that, yes, but it wasn't direct confirmation. Whether it'll happen or not depends on a lot of factors.

Also, Team39 are not "the people who made 39chan". None of the original makers of 39chan are involved in this hypothetical project. It's just us who own and manage the site.

>>24799
Best of luck Puz-san
I hope you and the team go through with the idea because you'd be saving a lot of UTAU makers and producers' asses

Your fortune: Good news will come to you by mail

>>23884
I don't think it was promoted around that much

>>24799
You'd be a hero dude

>>24799
Please do this

>>24799
Ganbatte puz-kun

>>23886
think its for original usts only

>>24799
Any updates on this

>>32435
The site partially exists but its very low priority and chances are you won't be seeing it this year or even the next

>>32437
Anything before a radio update kek

The owner of 39chan is now working on a site like this it seems

>>38044 Something like that, yeah. Whether it'll ever go live or not, we'll see. But the source code exists and it works.

>>38045 No offense bro but it'd be really stupid not to launch this. People would've killed for a site like this years ago. Not to mention it looks fantastic.

>>38046 i think it's probably a legal thing? because a lot of voicebanks have "don't redistribute" in their TOS but it does look amazing

>>38047 I assume the site has a rule against redistribution based on that report button

>>38048 (me) Like I'm sure that defoko is a placeholder

>>38048 isn't the report button for the dead link lol

Puzzle ## Admin Sat, Oct 10, 2026, 02:27 AM No.38051

>>38048 >>38050 Both of you are correct actually. The Defoko is a placeholder but we do have "Unauthorized redistribution" as one of the report reasons as well as "Dead link". I also implemented a verification badge for popular creators. So if Canon were to upload Namine Ritsu for example, and there was proof that the account is hers, I would verify her as the original creator.

>>38045 Please release this, or at least release the source code The world needs a site like this

>>38045 I've been yearning for something exactly like this since I was in diapers. This looks so clean... and all of those UTAU wikis we have are so... jank... and unintuitive... if this had a sleek filtering feature and a reasonably robust search engine I'd be happy. I am a little alarmed by having direct downloads instead of linking to the UTAU's personal website or anything, probably mostly just because the thought of it is kinda unheard of to me. I'd hope that there'd still be listings for characters with a no redistribution policy with their original website linked in place of the download button or something like that for the sake of being fully comprehensive. Unless this is supposed to function as pure archive rather than fill the wiki niche better than the wikis.

>>38063 >direct downloads the screenshot says files are hosted on external sites

>>38063 Did you look at the text right next to the information image in the screenshot?

Here's some screenshots of it from the twitter account

>>38066 >Advanced filtering Holy shit. T39 saving us from the pain that are UTAU wikis was not in my 2026 bingo card. I hope this isn't just a proof of concept and actually releases.
