I don't know if i'd say i'm attached to her the way you are with Kaito but Sukone Tei is special to me in the way that she represents a side of the Vocaloid community that no longer exists. I'm not a fan of the fandom's modern interpretation of her (post-apology) but the original, the "crazy yandere that's obsessed with Len and cucumbers", that's my Tei.

I feel you there 100%. Things kinda feel like the ship of Theseus with the community at large. Much has been lost over the years and it's good to carry what we can forward

i like GUMI 'cause i think she's very cute, but also because her songs tended to be more emotionally oriented, yet with a variety that gave her an adventurous air or that of a hopeless romantic. i find her more multifaceted than miku, depending on how she is portrayed

GUMI also reminds me of an old friend I had, she loved GUMI very much too, sadly i lost touch with her many years ago, I hope she's doing well

Is Sonika a valid answer? I used to like her when i was younger because of Repeat by CircusP but then she was forgotten. Now she's kind of a meme in the community and I'm not sure if this site is what caused it but I'm happy that more people are showing interest in her now.

Oh man, this is going to be embarassing.

Back in my teenage years, I was this depressed edgy faggot who only recently fell into the vocaloid rabbit hole after having been uninterested in it for a few years before that. When I discovered IA, I remember getting so attached to her that I had to tell all my normie friends and teachers about her. I remember I even got scolded about it because one teacher found it rude that I told him to just ggrks IA. At the time I discovered that you can just type I and A into google to get lots of images of her which I thought was funny and impressive, which was why I told him to google it. As you can see, this was during my manic episodes.

I was so attached to her because during my depressive episodes, I was so delusional that she felt like this super cute and pretty big sister with a soothing voice who was always there for me (I actually liked Lia's voice back then but something about the vocaloid engine noise made IA sound especially soothing to me). I don't actually have any sisters so I have no idea why I felt like that.

Since graduating high school, I became much more mellowed out as a person. If I had kept that mania I would have shitted up old /jp/ back then, but no, I was mostly just a lurker. Fast forward to more than a decade later, my feelings for her are still true. I guess this time she feels more like a childhood friend turned wife than a big sister.

I hope this post made you cringe or at least gave you a good laugh.

Holy autism
I respect that though, your dedication to IA is admirable

I think it's just how infectiously passionate some producers have been towards her.
Plus learning about the whole journey of starting out as an April Fool's joke and becoming one of the most popular vocal synth characters, gives a sense of pride and amazement.

SF-A2 Miki was the first Japanese voicebank I heard sing in English without an official voicebank outside of Teto (at the time) and Miku's V2, and I was enthralled with the fact she could be capable of doing that. I was also really obsessed with Circus P, and as a result she was the very first voicebank I ever got (her V2 + V4E) at Christmas 10 years ago when I was only 13. Circus' music, while not usually heavy on the lyrical side, had a massive impact on me and I'd say it pretty concretely set my interest in stone. No other producer I liked except for SHEBA used her and I discovered SHEBA years afterward. The covers with her, while of varying quality like all covers, taught me that everyone had a unique tuning style and certain Vocaloids can really elevate certain songs, even if they used another voicebank initially. She's been in my possession across multiple eras in the fandom, a constant despite all the change, and a foundation of stability for me even when my life actively hit a rough patch for a few years before resolving.

I'm not a good example, you know

>>19427
There's something about Gumi's aura that's always been comfy.
>>19438
Why wouldn't she be? If Sonika brings you joy then that's what matters!
>>19448
Honestly, based. It's sweet that she brings you peace. Godspeed anon. I wish you many stable years to come with your wife.
>>19455
I remember when Circus was using Miki, I think I first found her with his song Glow. Her voice has a nice ring to it. Both using loids and getting to listen to all your favorite songs with loids makes for a very healthy means of coping. It's nice to have something constant and comforting amidst all the chaos of daily life.

Based IAbro

It’s different for each of them.

For Miku it was the joy of inspiration and creation. She’s always made me feel like I could create something from my own heart and imagination. Since meeting my fiancé, she’s also taken on the meaning of love and connection. She’s almost like a guide for me.

For Haiyi, I like to consider her a representation of my curiosity and love of mysteries. She feels in control of her emotions as well, something I’d like to achieve more and more.

Piko is probably the most important to me. I’ve felt a lot of comfort in him and probably project the most with him. It’s sad how it’s basically all my painful feelings and complex thoughts onto him, but it makes the world feel less lonely. I’m glad I found him before it was too late.

These are all just my own, I love these lil beep boops.

It was love at first sight mostly, Ritsu just has an amazing design and a powerful voice that i never seen in any other synth, like a fire for my cold heart, and the character as well really intrigued, he was edgy, offensive and cool, and when i found out he is a trap my love just grew, not in an faggotish way but because i could "relate" more to him. But what truly made be obsessed for life is in a way how obscure Ritsu is relatively to other synths, sure he is better off than the likes of Sonika or Amaga Elu but still, back in the day if someone knew about Ritsu they were deep into voicesynth and even more nowadays, it was a small tight community and i really liked to be part of those "who knew" Ritsu, it really felt like a home, that i finaly belonged to something that i truly love, and this is why i don't want to see Ritsu in synthv2 or whatever voicesynth will make him explode in popularity, i want Ritsu to be mine, not everyone's, and i would prefer that he dies in obscurity than be a third miku.

Rin. Idk why, I grew up in the mid-late 00's so I was only really familiar with the basics, but the way Rin was portrayed in songs stuck with me pretty hard. Also tbf her design was cute. I'm pretty simple.

I also miss when Tei had an actual personality instead of teto's/ruko's weird girlfriend.

>>19967
I miss the old Tei, straight from the 'Go Tei
Knife wielding Tei, "want to fuck Len" Tei
I hate the new Tei, the yurifag Tei
The always nice Tei, the cookie baking Tei
I miss the hateful Tei, the BPD having Tei
I gotta to say at that time I'd like to meet Tei
See I invented Tei, it wasn't any Teis
And now I look and look around and there's so many Teis
I used to love Tei, I used to love Tei
I even had the green pickle, I thought I was Tei
What if Tei made a song about Tei
Called "I Miss The Old Tei, " man that would be so Tei
That's all it was Tei, we still love Tei
And I love you like Tei loves Len

>>19405
>>19968
>>19967
I'm pretty sure that Tei going from BPD fapper shotacon yandere to generic cute lesbian is a fandom thing and has nothing to do with the apology.

>>19969
i don't care what tei is shipped with because that's part of the fun of vocaloid, you do whatever you want with them. but yeah post-apology tei has no personality, a lot of the canon "offensive" traits tei had are what made her stand out. it's like if you removed all the "offensive" traits about ritsu, at that point is it really ritsu?.

>>19970
If the Vox Factory trailer is anything to go by, they plan on keeping him as a 6 year old Okama with boob missiles and insane political opinions. The Ritsu we know is here to stay. Unless he goes corpo and makes his jump to Vocaloid or SV, I wonder how they'd handle that.

Speaking of Ritsu
>>19933
I love him too but for different reasons. First of all I love Canon's androgynous voice, but also I love the little canon (no pun intended) information he has. Out of all the VIPPERloids that exists he feels like the one that was made to fuck with people the most. Pre-apology Tei had some weird traits but Ritsu... Ritsu is a 6 year old crossdressing guy that looks like an adult, hates Japan, loves North Korea and has missile tits for whatever reason. He's bizarre and i love that about him.

>>19969
Tbh most of the western fandom didn't even know about the apology until last year, and indeed is the faggotization of the world as a whole.

yep, i think what makes vipperloids so unique aside from the fact that they have nice voices and are collaborative is the fact that they often have weird and sometimes offensive traits. there is an entire vipperloid based on scat.

When I was younger and first discovered vocaloid, I quickly became obsessed with him. I always liked old fashioned aesthetics. I never stopped liking his voice, it's incredibly unique and lends itself to so many interesting songs and styles. A couple years I became a NEET for some time so I randomly started doodling him. It gave me a sense of fulfillment somehow.I like that his design has horror elements. I like that he has a cute bird like James as company. I like the feeling of nostalgia and warmth I get from listening to a song that uses him. To me he is just the greatest loid ever.

Once upon a time, an Anon with no ambition or real interests walked to and from work. He listened to music on his trips to work and back and he enjoyed it. One day he gave Looking into Hatsune Miku a shot, found a few songs, a couple with Gumi and liked them but nothing really stuck at that time. Fast forward a good few months after he initially found them he though "I didn't give vocaloid much of a chance. There's like, a lot of them right? I'll pull up a list and decide what I'm listening to with that." So the ignorant Anon pulls up a list on fandom wiki and through the cramped view of the list he spots Yuzuki Yukari. She stood out to Anon because at the time one of his few personality traits was that he really likes purple.

Despite the simple decision on that fated day, Anon's worldview would begin to slowly change after finding a single song when looking her name up on Spotify.

"What a Vast and Wonderful Universe" by Pepmanbou

For the first time he would understand something. Not the lyrics of course. But that art is something we share. Something we make with our hearts. Each second sounded like the artist enjoyed making it as much as Anon did listening to it. Anon listened to the album it was from. Then he'd do some more research into more vocaloid and vocaloid songs. Switch up his methods to find more. For the first time in a long, LONG time. Anon found an interest.

It's funny. There's not that many songs that actually hit as hard as any song with any other vocaloid. If a favorite was determined by listen time, it'd be like KAFU, or Tsurumaki Maki or something. But my heart lies with Yukari.

She gave me something.
She united me with you all with her voice.
And the feeling of finally finding a community is priceless.
