I like that there is an official Ruby voicebank for it but it kinda sucks that it's private.

That dude who made Neru and Iku's new voicebanks is now doing DiffSinger for them (and a couple other 'loids). Part of me hopes they use actual voice providers and not some frankenstein of voice clips from the VP, RVC and his friend's voices again.

Do producers use DiffSinger at all or is it somehow more niche than UTAU? I have not heard a single original song created with DiffSinger
>>
>>13717
Diffsinger is a lot more niche then utau, helps that utau has been around for so long but it seems that if producers want a more realistic style they just use synthv instead. I also don't know of any original songs that use diffsinger which is a shame because some of the vbs that are out there sound pretty good in my personal opinion.

Gahata Meiji seems to be the most popular
>>
How can we make DiffSinger succeed? It's one of the best engines available. It has recognizable voicebanks such as Gahata Meiji, Yokune Ruko and Namine Ritsu. Yet it feels like no one uses it, not even for covers.
>>
>>23340
The problem with DiffSinger is that on top of being a bit of a hassle to set up, none of the major producers are aware of it or appear to have any sort of interest in it. The day a DiffSinger original gets popular there may be an increase in DS users, but its all up to the producers in the end.

Also call me delusional but I think things will change a little with the release of TORIKO EN. God knows if that will ever come out, but the potential is way too big for it to not have at least a little bit of impact on the engine. Sure, she's a wholoid now, but the fully animated Spoken For cover and all the people here saying they'll make songs with her once EN drops gives me hope.
>>
>>23341
That doesn't sound too far fetched. I just hope her voicebank drops eventually because so far both Voxsoft and the voice provider have been radio silent, but I assume it's because of Sena DS
>>
>>23341
It's not hard to set up, just use the Lunai fork of OpenUTAU and drag and drop the Diffsinger onto it
>>
>>23359
Lunai fork is better than regular OpenUTAU
>>
>>23340
They should just release a version of OpenUtau with it pre-installed that's not Lunai

I had the idea for a joke leeka that sounds like this a while back but i don't think it'd be doable now
>>
Is there such thing as a Jinriki DiffSinger the way there are Jinriki UTAUs?
>>
>>25064
yeah but the community looks down on it due to its similarities with those RVC voicebanks that are made without the VP's consent.

however, there are ethical ones like adachi rei and denka shaa (made with the creator's consent plus made up of non-human samples), and supposedly that new acme iku diffsinger that's going around was trained on her maidloid audio and might be made with StudioS' consent.
>>
Is there a voicebank that 'defines' this engine like Vocaloid has Miku and UTAU has Teto?
>>
>>25888
Too early to say because DiffSinger is still pretty new and not many big producer use it.
Right now it seems to be Gahata Meiji but I could totally see Toriko taking her place if her voicebank got sound quality related updates, new singing modes and multilang support (more than just JP/EN)
>>
>>25892
Those things are all planned but progress will be slow, her voice provider can't be out here recording every single day of her life.
>>
>>25893
In an unexpected turn of events it could also be Akita Neru considering her NEO voicebank is already popular and an AI one would obviously be even more popular since they're all the rage in the vsynth space right now.
>>
>>25888
Teto took over SV also if you think about it
>>
>>25893
Multilang aside from English and Japanese is planned?
>>
>>25923
I think her voice provider said something like that but i don't wanna put words in her mouth
>>
Does DiffSinger have any original characters that aren't ports of UTAUs?
>>
>>26167
Technically Riko counts since her UTAU voicebank wasn't supposed to exist at all. I'm still happy we got one tho.
>>
>>26168
also the UTAU is voiced by a different person
>>
It kinda sucks that DiffSinger is so obscure because the potential is insane and so many Vipperloids have official voicebanks on it. People complain about Ruko and Ritsu on ACE yet they have superior, free voicebanks on this engine that no one uses.
>>
>>26173
I think things will change over the next couple years as people get used to recording it, using it in OpenUTAU, etc.
>>
>>26179
DiffSinger isn't exactly very friendly or accessible for long time UTAU creators. There's a reason TORIKO took so long to release aside from the voice provider going MIA. I will say that it's easy to use though. Using it isn't the same thing as making it and as long as you have the right vocoders installed it's the same thing as using SynthV.
>>
>>26180
Yeah. I think it won't be as bad once documentation is as good and plentiful as it is for UTAU voice recording techniques. Won't be as easy as a CV, but still, not as bad.
>>
>>26181
I hope someone eventually creates some sort of guide. The ones that currently exist aren't very useful and most of the useful stuff is sadly locked behind dicksword servers that i'm never going to join.
>>
>>26180
>as long as you have the right vocoders installed
I don't understand why vocoders are a voicebank-level configuration and not changeable on the project level like UTAU resamplers. It would certainly simplify the voicebank installation process.
>>26182
Agreed. There is like 1 google doc I'm aware of and it isn't perfect.
>>
>>26183
If you mean like the resamplers then I agree. Hopefully someone eventually makes a fork of OpenUTAU that makes vocoders function like that.
>>
Is there a database of Diffsingers out there like there is UTAU wiki?
>>
>>26186
besides vocadb there's a channel in the diffsinger dicksword server and i think that's it
>>
>>26190
There's a DiffSinger wiki actually but it lacks stuff
https://diffsinger.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:DiffSinger_voicebanks
>>
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Kok2nxtc-fc YouTube
So does anybody here actually care about the other DiffSingers aside from TORI? I wonder how many people are aware of Ruko's.
>>
https://youtube.com/watch?v=JhlUujWBpog YouTube
>>26493
I tried using Ritsu's, but it couldn't handle high notes at all... I kind of forgot about it, I'll try swapping the oudep for him and see if it improves things.

I like Hatsune Kumi too, sadly there are not a lot of covers using their diffsinger.
>>
has anyone here ever tried converting their UTAUs to diffsinger?
>>
>>26494
Did you end up swapping the vocoder?
>>
Weird question but are there any "original" DiffSingers? I'm not talking about songs, but voicebanks. Are there any voicebanks made specifically for this engine that have never been on another engine before?.
>>
>>29794
ik lunai has this one based on a streamer
https://lunaiproject.github.io/singers/nessie
>>
>>29797
god this one sounds very realistic. i didn't know diffsingers could sound this good.
>>
>>29794
I guess Toriko counts?. She was never meant to be an UTAU in the first place. The UTAU only exists because people were tired of waiting for the DiffSinger.
I wonder if we'll ever receive a CVVC or a VCV of her considering new art is being made for it and I wonder if she'll be voiced by VIP or Twal.
>>
>>29955
The art is for the original UTAU because the current design is basically a placeholder render for a voicebank that, like you said, wasn't planned. It uses the same art as the DiffSinger.
>>
>>29794
To add onto a previous anon, Lunai also has Katyusha (https://lunaiproject.github.io/singers/katyusha)
The main NeoDIVA folk are all original as well, I think https://neodiva.xyz/#vocalists
If you want more you can also browse VocaDB by enabling "Root voicebank (no base)" in Advanced Settings. TLDR there's quite a few
>>
>>29964
katyusha is a rebrand of an utau tho
>>
>>29961
>>29955
Maybe the VocaDB entry should be corrected to have the DS as a base? But at the same time, it did come out first.

Sorry to crush your dreams but it won't be released because they'd need permission from both the studio and the voice actress. The VA's email is invalid now and studio S hasn't replied to anyone since 2023. They're not even first ones to attempt Iku' DS with various degrees of success, but no one got permission. I learned all that from the DS dicksword server. Your best bet is labeling it yourself and training.

Is DiffSinger really that irrelevant in the vocalsynth sphere that Tori makes up about 80% of the search results for DiffSinger on Gelbooru?
>>
>>31871

>>
I think the reason DiffSinger is so unpopular is because it doesn't run on potato PCs like other AI synths and the fact that there's barely any exclusive voicebanks. When you think of UTAU, you think of Teto, Momo, Defoko, maybe even Rei. But when you think of DiffSinger, who do you even think about?
>>
>>31873
Unironically, Toriko. She's technically an exclusive too since her UTAU was never really meant to exist. Don't get me wrong i'm glad it does but the goal was always to have her release on DiffSinger first.

Tori will always be the first thing I think of when I think of Diffsinger :)
