V1 AL was in the early to mid 2000's though wasn't it? It's been a long, long time. People's opinions change. And the technology is much more advanced now so a new voicebank would probably sound more like King and less like a dying old man.

IIRC they started development on V1 AL right after Bil saw Leon and Lola at a music fair and decided to get in on it. Eventually for an unknown reason King was scrapped and replaced with the current vp later on (who also does not like AL) as we all know. But of course, like you said, time heals all wounds. I wouldnt blame Holy if he did leave the project with everything that happened though.

Al had been delayed for a long time at this point and that gave birth to the term "Big Al's syndrome" (which i don't see too often nowadays) so Frank basically said fuck it and recorded the whole thing himself.

Ah. That explains some disdain on Frank's part. Dont quote me on this but i heard something to the effect of the reason Frank didnt like AL because it was a particularly cumbersome project to work on. Its a shame, because hes one of the most beloved Engloids.

It's weird. I actually prefer Frank's voice for the redesigned bara Al but Michael's for the old frankenstein design.
