>>3138 So this is a thread now, alright. I personally don't mind it, it's good to have a thread to talk about things in real time instead of 60 different threads. Hope its existence doesn't affect the rest of the site though.
>>3149 >if she doesn't become popular i'm killing myself Not trying to slander Teto but i feel like after her it's hard for any other voicebanks to get popular. KAFU was the last "literal who" to get popular before Kaai Yuki killed her momentum with Kyoufuu All Back, and then the Teto SV release happened and now everything is Teto.
>>3166 I went. They did indeed play Mesmerizer and it was awesome. I hope they play it at Magical Mirai because I don't think they do BDs of these tours. I want a better look at hyponotized Miku's dance.
>>3178 I really want it on video. The crowd absolutely exploded when the song came on after a short intro that made it super obvious the song was next with the little "focus" text. They also played Psi by r-906 complete with a new module. Overall 10/10 concert
>>3275 Tetoris is right there, but yeah he just came and went. And as far as I'm aware he's not even doing other stuff like Haraguchi has been doing here and there along with releasing more Teto songs.
>>3276 >Tetoris Yeah i was exaggerating a bit. I know Tetoris dominated the charts for half of the year but everything Masarada released within that year became an instant hit until he just stopped one day.
As for Sasuke Haraguchi i'm glad he's still doing stuff, love his style.
>>3294 If you're a fan you should absolutely try to make it to one of the Japanese concerts. I had been to 2 Miku expos (before the whole CR fiasco) and while they were fun they don't even come close to comparing to the Blooming concert (despite being around the same size) let alone Magical Mirai
>>3306 I saw it for the first time in akage and it was fine. Seems about equal to character item stuff like you said. Wonder if teto would enjoy her baguettes with pear jam.
>>3309 I think Yamanon has acknowledged the whole pear thing saying that she can't look at old teto renders without laughing. Some japanese producers like Atena (i think he's japanese?) have also put it in their MVs. I really don't mind it but it would've been funnier if she was bread.
>>3358 tuning in these could be better (especially neru, she just sounds like regular NT miku) but the songs are catchy and the music videos are really amateurish but charming in the same way dennokoP's are.
>>3405 >8ch? Definitely not, I have the thread open there and it's just dead. Which is a shame, I think the site is good and has potential to be even better.
>>3408 Can't be helped when the german government takes down half the site with the .se domain takedown notice, that and all of the people suddenly posting there after the other site went down.
>>3412 No one talks about obsolete meat, and even less people talk about the pokemon song. People talk about Mesmerizer, and Odochina, and Daikirai and CandyCookiechocolate, and then make it seem like every new song is tetomiku when it's just people who can't help themselves and only engage with the most viral content for likes. I personally hope it hasn't peaked, because I love both of them and seeing them getting songs together is great.
>>3418 honestly candycookiechocolate is the only song i despite from this trend. the other songs have their own ideas in them, even if they're using this pair because of a trend. candycookiechocolate annoys me to death because it really just feels like an attempt to be mesmerizer two
(i'm very happy about mikuxteto becoming a common pair because negidrill is my otp, i love the dynamic of the wannabe idol in her 30s actually managing to charm the number one idol she's competitive with)
>>3455 I mean, I get it on a sentimental level, if the pairing had been gumiku or something like that I bet I'd be annoyed about it getting huge when I don't care about it, but I love both of these and yuri, so I'm enjoying this greatly.
>>3488 I don't think BPM matters. Making a Vocaloid song is no different from making a regular song except you use robotic vocals. The average modern Vocaloid track (the viral ones like Mesmerizer, etc) is between 150-210 BPM i think tho.
>>3418 >No one talks about obsolete meat Nah it was definitely a big deal when it came out. But i think the hype for 32ki's music in general died after Obsomeat. Mesmerizer has reached classic status so it will continue to pull in billions of views while overshadowing the creator's other music (like it happened with ECHO). It's a bit sad though, i like 32ki's other stuff.
>>3509 >calalini i remember the controversy regarding that song. probably the weirdest/creepiest shit to ever happen in the vocaloid community, not because of crusher but because of what happened to jani.
>>3515 The song is about this girl who was diagnosed with childhood-onset schizophrenia named Jani Schofield, there's a couple documentaries about her from around the time she was still a child (she is between 22-23 now). Crusher-P created it with good intentions to spread awareness of schizophrenia, but in 2019 it was revealed that Jani never really had schizophrenia and her parents were essentially drugging and abusing her. Additionally the person who mixed the original song was an alleged POCALOID user. Today this means nothing but when the song originally released you were basically the antichrist for using pirated Vocaloid software.
Really glad this place exists. /jp/ Vocaloid threads have been really slow ever since the hack and 8chan keeps killing itself so i can only check the 8/jp/ Vocaloid threads if i'm lucky
>>3539 Teto with Growl would be awesome. I remember when everyone used Vocaloid3 or 4 with Chariesis. Glad to see we're moving past that, as charming as well-made vocametal and its colors were.
>>3560 I do too, but it can be annoying to fiddle with at times. Not always, though. I still have old VSQx files where I zoomed 100% into the piano roll and manually spiked the pitches on top to make Kiyoteru scream.
>>3517 Things seem to have stabilized now. 4chan, 8chan and 39chan are all getting equal activity on their Vocaloid threads. Which is neat, it gives me three places to look at when I'm bored.

Earlier this year I made "A letter from…", which you have probably seen floating around since it was posted here and later reposted to other places, and it seems to have done pretty well for a 'first song'. But I want to change up my style and make something unique that hasn't been done yet. I see a lot of people throw shit at music created by the non-Japanese side of the Vocaloid community so let me ask (You), anon, what type of music do you want to see from western producers? What genres, what voicebanks. What's missing about music created by Western producers that prevents you from coming back to it like you do with Japanese ones?. >inb4 nothing kek
>>3594 I just dislike generic pop and electronica songs. The more rock or metalcore something is, the higher chance I will like it. There's exceptions to this rule. I've been seeing a lot of generic pop blow up in the West and I cannot for the life of me understand why people like Flavor Folley despite liking Vane's music outside of it. One of the things I absolutely love about Western Voca-P's over Eastern is the likelihood you'll see a rare voicebank. I see more usage of loids like Maika in the West than the East, and the constant barrage of Cryptonloids generally aren't for me so I rarely listen to JPloid unless I know the producer writes good music. UTSU is my favorite JP Voca-P with Xitoo in second.
>>3595 I'm surprised the Japanese don't use Maika considering Spanish and Japanese are similar pronunciation-wise. It's actually very easy to make her sing in Japanese (although with a heavy European accent).
>>3596 Agreed, and Maika has extra phonemes to make several languages easier. In fact, her phoneme list is completely unique. Not even Bruno or Clara have it and they're easy enough to make sing in Spanish, English, and Japanese.

>>3595 Hm, that's interesting because a while back I thought of making some power pop / pop punk that's even more poppy than the song I put out a while back. Something like SMILE-era Porter Robinson where it's still very much guitar driven but more "artificial" and with synths/drum machines. I'll continue making rock for the time being but I'll see what I can do in the future. Metalcore i feel is beyond my capabilities. https://youtube.com/watch?v=uRCOQcXNVCw [Embed]
>>3607 โฆI was going to ask if anyone knew what the title was to this song in Romaji, but I pressed the โdoneโ button on my phone before I wrote anything. Sorry
>>3607 Haraguchi always makes amazing songs, but I always wish they were at least a minute longer. The lyrics are perfect so it probably wouldn't work well but the instrumentals are too good for the songs to be so short.
>>3672 Not them but from what I can gather, Lapis is the only Vocaloid that has no virus-free Pocaloid download. Feel free to correct me on that, but back in 2017 she only had one crack with a virus attached, which was spread around everywhere. I love Lapis though, she and Merli are criminally underrated.
>>3675 Last I checked years ago, Kitsune only had the virus one. Kitsune Neo may have had a normal one but I didn't check due to losing my antivirus later, and I don't fully trust Defender despite it being fairly reliable.
>>3673 There's a torrent dated 2019 on Nyaa with tons of voicebanks from v1-v5, including Lapis. Doesn't seem to be a virus, nobody complaining in the comments and it seems to work right to me, but I run Linux so no guarantees.
>>3678 Thank you. >>3679 I used to. I don't have plans on monetizing my originals (when I make them) anymore and my Bruno and Galaco codes are unobtainable now so I simply went back to piracy out of spite.
>>3682 >>3682 I'm pretty insecure about my couple of released originals, but they're certainly the ones I feel least insecure about. Here's one I took a year to make. The Piko tuning is terrible (and the mixing also sucks) because I got so exhausted with it after a while. I also released it publicly, but I'm pretty insecure despite (already) getting much better at tuning him in covers. I'm far better with Miki and Big Al but I rarely touch them. It was originally supposed to be with Teto, but Teto SV 1.0 was…horrible with English already, and I got her pretty much day one. I have a few more recent WIPs and older instrumentals I'm trying very hard to salvage from around 2020-2022, some even older but I can't find them. https://files.catbox.moe/tqp5ur.mp3
>>3721 I'd say that up until 2022 she still had some and by mid 2023 it stopped. Later that year SV Teto happened and the rest is history. Now what i wonder is what will take Teto's spot.
Is it just me that finds "Vocaloid was better 10 years ago" fags insufferable?. To this day I still love and listen to most of the stuff featured in those old DIVA games. But the 2020's gave us so much cool shit that a decade ago would be mindblowing to the average Vocaloid fan (r-906, Sasuke Haraguchi, masarada, iyowa, etc) and it feels like the average "old vocaloid fan" doesn't appreciate that.
>>3812 Most of my favorite Vocaloid songs came out in the late 2010s, but a lot of good things came from the 2020s: Actually good SynthV Voices, Masarada, Team 6x111 (Though, I wasn't a fan of Qualia Automata), and so on so forth. Most of my favorite Vocaloid songs are still from the late 2010s, but small VocaP's are making a lot of good songs that wouldn't really be a thing in the 2010s. That said, I think the "Modern Vocaloid sucks!" types are (usually) so fed up with the modern Western community that it taints their view of Modern Vocaloid as a whole.
>>3838 I assume a lot of the hate is just from underage retards and others who just don't like the red one and wanted their variation of purple or green or something else to be the popular one instead.
>>3842 Mikifag hands typed this post… but I agree Mikifag, there needs to be more originals with both 'loids. I saw this duet with Una on /jp/ recently and it works insanely well.
>>3843 I agree! I've noticed Rana also works well with the following 'loids: >Piko >Una >Flower I can imagine her also working with Nemu, Tone Rion, and Mirai Komachi, but I haven't heard enough of them to say for sure.
>>3913 Love him. I don't like his early music because it's literally just Inabakumori but his new stuff like the song you posted is amazing and also he's the only western producer whose music actually sounds like trve j-rock.
>>3916 That's okay, I think it's obvious you're not a newfag because you knew one of her aliases in the first place. Most newfags only know Cryptonloids, Teto, Flower, and Gumi, usually.
>>3919 That's probably good for your sanity. I rarely pay attention to drama anymore (unless it involves someone I'm familiar with), but the Western community is so full of it it's almost impossible.
Anyone who thinks Neru can have a voice is completely missing the point. Fanloids should never have a voice unless they're humanloids like Sai Tonarine.
>>3931 Honestly, I wouldn't deny her a voice if that were to happen just because she was a fanloid at first and then became a vocaloid. For your consideration, Teto was a fucking april's first joke that people couldn't let go.
>>3932 The difference is that Teto has always had a voice. Every time she's had a voice outside of UTAU it's always been Oyamano Mayo too. The only way a Neru voicebank would work is if they got Saki Fujita or Asami Shimoda to do some sort of high pitched voice.
>>3947 I really want to like these, but I just can't enjoy it musically. I think they could do really well doing animations for others to produce music with.
>>3948 Fair enough. I guess I'm more used to different styles of it. I'm glad more people are getting into using the software. >>3949 They're a great artist and I can absolutely see them working with other producers some day.
>>3963 Theory: after the 4chan hack people came here and posted, once the site came up again they just started lurking here and posted there. The thread over there is absolute shit and got even worse since like yesterday, so people will start posting in places that aren't shit, like here or the thread in 8chan.moe
>>3964 I haven't seen many people posting on 8/jp/ but I did see someone there mention the same thing as you about the 4chan thread becoming absolute dogshit in the past few days. So it wouldn't surprise me if the boost in activity came from anons who are fed up with all the ragebait there.
it actually seems a little more serious than just a random poll on twitter. >Do we really need a Neru voicebank? Necessary is a very relative word, if you want to be absolute, then no, you do not need more than oxygen, water and some vitamins really. I personally think it would be funny if the one to end Teto's reign of terror was Neru coming out of nowhere with an actual GOOD voice that fits her. Achieving that however, is going to be really fucking tough.
>>3970 We could even be seeing a timeline where Neru getting a vb actually just further cements those 3 as the top ones, just bringing Neru into the mix.
>>3974 No vippaloid could do it. I don't think there's any character that could go through Teto's arc and achieve the same. Ruko would be a fantastic voice to have, but I just can't see it being as popular. I'd love Tei to get more recognition. There was this random design some Teifag did when SP vbs crypton released, as a bit of a troll saying she had been added to it. I think she'd have the best chance given how soft/sweet her voice can be, and her design cues, shapes, colors, etc are pretty easy for me to envision being popular enough even with a redesign if she ever got another vb. BUT >>3976
>>3980 A TeiLen duet would be nice I don't think Tei would ever receive an upgrade though. Out of all the vipperloids she is the most forgotten and we know nothing about her voice provider. Not to mention the VCV bank which is very high quality already and with hifisampler can sound like a SynthV.
>>3979 I mean that picture is clearly aping the style for the sake of the joke I mentioned. She doesn't need a major style redesign like Teto got. But a good artist could pull it off.
>>3981 Yeah no idea honestly, think her website's been dead after the apology they posted to crypton.
>>3978 >Ruko As much as I'd love this it wouldn't work as a commercial synth She has two voicebanks and you don't want to buy two separate voicebanks However she has two free Diffsinger AI banks if that's anything
>>3990 Thanks, sadly Ruko Male's VP went MIA, but I love Ruko's Female VB too! >>3992 To be fair, Ritsu has been on several different softwares at this point, it's pretty impressive.
I saw Kasane Teto at a grocery store in Tokyo yesterday. I told her how cool it was to meet her in person, but I didnโt want to be a douche and bother her and ask her for photos or anything. She said, โOh, like youโre doing now?โ I was taken aback, and all I could say was โHuh?โ but she kept cutting me off and going โhuh? huh? huh?โ and closing her hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw her trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen baguettes in her hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like โMiss, you need to pay for those first.โ At first she kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the baguettes and started scanning it multiple times, she stopped her and told her to scan them each individually โto prevent any electrical infetterence,โ and then turned around and winked at me. I donโt even think thatโs a word. After she scanned each bread and put them in a bag and started to say the price, she kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
>>4001 Yeah that's fair, it's fine to me in moderation (like here, the truly coomiest of coomshit is on a special board) but the amount of coomshit in comparison to the activity makes it repetitive on 4/jp/ I agree on the Teto spammer though
