the current english translation is a complete and utter disrespect to the otaku culture this game celebrates. i'm surprised it even made it to the final release.

I'm not a big fan of "Q-chan" being translated as "Qtie" but that's honestly one of the least harmless changes

I wonder if people even know the etymology of やめろ　getting big on Twitter or why it would be stupid to translate it literally as "stop". I'm not going to go to bat for this, or even that specific translation, but if you're running a translation down by line items the critique is about as valuable as MTL.

No idea, the localization for Needy Streamer was also the same team but in that game it kinda felt more natural. I also don't recall there being self insert politics in it. I'm guessing they saw a game about internet culture and decided to go overboard with it, or maybe they just didn't like it. Either way I haven't been playing it in English and I'm not too invested in the story.

They weren't kidding about denpa. Lots of classics here.
