after I failed that I got very sad and took a very long break
I've played other ones but never got as far

>>210
I've played everything (except the fighting games) up to the one that had Clownpiece which i believe was 15? It was new when i played it.

i can strongly recommend 18, its one of the more unique games that can be pretty easy if you use the right cards, the cast is alright but the gameplay really shrines in UM

i've only played 6, 7, 8, and the pc-98 games (mostly touhou 3 because it has chiyuri and yumemi and i love them dearly)
the only ones i've completed are 3 and 6 on normal. i need to brush up on my skills...

>>215
Should I play the pc 98 ones? I’m pretty curious about them

>>225
You don't have to but it would be cool if you did

pretty much what >>226 said
they have a bit of a silly shitpost vibe which i think is cute, and they're not THAT hard to adjust to if you've played touhou before (excluding highly responsive to prayers, since the gameplay for it is entirely different)

they are pretty fun and like the other anon said a lot more silly and goofy. they also arent too difficult (unless you are fighing rapegetsu) and the midi soundtrack is verrrrry good, it also has the best phantasmagoria game

In case no one saw them, here are the popularity poll results.
1. Koishi Komeiji (4th in 2024)
2. Marisa Kirisame (2nd in 2024)
3. Reimu Hakurei (1st in 2024)
4. Flandre Scarlet (3rd in 2024)
Here's an English translation of the full results if you're interested: https://maribelhearn.com/thvote

Marisa keeping her spot is interesting

>>238
I was confused by how many people voted Offline in Q11 but then I realized it's Japan and Touhou is inescapable there

I used to be a huge fan but honestly these days I no longer care about the games and only care for the new characters. Once you've played one of the games you've played them all.
That being said I like the first girl here: >>233

Thoughts on Iemitsu.? Kikuo made some contribution to it before becoming a Vocaloid producer

I don't believe this one was produced by Kikuo but it's one of my favorites from them. The piano version is even better.

I have to shill my favorite touhou fangame which still isn't out yet, 東方聖戦影 ～ Forlorn Souls of Wicked Past. Its not perfect (brutal difficulty curve, the demo is the length of a full game, its style is visually overwhelming to a lot of players, unbalanced shot types, spongebob) but i've been thinking about it on and off for a year now. The person who did final arrangement of the music is on yt and has many nice compositions, but the actual composer just has danmafuku test footage from years ago.

Both nuked, did anyone save?

Ive been listening to zytokine recently, like going through the discography. After that I gave a try to some 96 glass album and some of the song in that album had samled missing opus. Some time after that I searched for random voca/utau/sv/other-loid songs and listened Meltdown. Next day I returned to pleasing myself with that 96 glass album and I realised that the miku song also has Meltdown sampled. What a weird coincidence. Small world.
