Leaving this here because it's technically not vocaloid related but i really enjoy inabakumori's recent song with okayu. I don't listen to vtuber music too often. I've heard some stuff from marine, mori, and a few others. But out of all the ones i've heard i think okayu has the most pleasant voice.

Funny, because whoo is my favorite Vocaloid producer (or in my top three), and I've listened to that album to death. 'gimme' is pretty close to the album I posted I think. Maybe I should've made it clearer on my end that I haven't found too many recent Vocaloid releases with that sorta style.

Handful of shoegaze producers out there, but not a lot in terms of math-rock/post-rock. Maybe I'm being too picky.

The beginning and ending to 2001: A Space Odyssey has a similar vibe. It's crazy that this film came out a decade before Star Wars, the special effects are amazing. Also there's a performance of the ballet this song is from on YouTube. Here's the video with a timestamp to Adagio if you're interested:

When I was much younger I used to think that the anime was a masterpiece but fairly recently I rewatched it and my god it is a complete dumpster fire. The anime has a very special place in my heart but my god the story and character development are fucking terrible. The OST though still remains a masterpiece in my eyes, I've probably listened to the album like hundreds of times ever since the anime came out years ago lol

Nah. You can make a Kanye thread on here if you want, there's already one for Gorillaz. A music board would distract from the site's purpose, and I don't wanna invite 4chan /mu/ crossboarders.

Yeah you're right, the two most relevant board topics to Vocaloid are otaku culture and music. Because /g/ is an "everything else" board, non-vocal-synth music gets split between /g/ and /j/. /j/ doesn't have many crossboarders (or much activity in general) because there's already several other imageboards dedicated to Japanese culture (several of which are on the homepage); a music board would carry greater risk. I would like to see more music threads on /g/, I might make one myself eventually.

The chorus in Everlong is good, but the verse is transcendent. In my head, I imagine a version of this song where the chorus is more understated. Not sure why they had to extend the song after it should have ended just so the band can play at the end of the music video, it is the most cliche thing in an otherwise great video.
