Has anyone here listened to the new Gorillaz album? I figured there’d be some overlap between Gorillaz fans and Vocaloid fans here, considering both are virtual and all. I thought it was their best album since Plastic Beach though it does get a bit boring by the end.

i love gorillaz. i'm not really a fan of much they've done past demon days (self-titled and g-sides are my fav albums from them) but the manifesto is one of my favourite songs right now. i'm seeing them live in manchester soon too

Based manifesto enjoyer. I typically hate spanish rap, especially Trueno (i'm latino) but somehow that ended up being one of my favorite tracks off the new album.

It was okay
Orange County was pretty emotional and i liked it but the rest of the album didn't do much for me

I always felt that there was a disconnect between the art and lore and what they actually sound like. Given the artist made Tank Girl I would have expected a more punk or hardcore sound. Honesty, I like the idea of Gorillaz more than their music.

Gorillaz does this cool thing where 1-2 songs per album are incredible (feel good inc being one of them) and the rest are a snoozefest. The aesthetics are top notch though

I'm not a huge fan of Damon but Mountain was probably the best thing he's done in a long time. Still feel like Song Machine and Plastic Beach are better though.
