I'm honestly kinda surprised this site consists mostly of old gens who don't care for pjsk considering 39chan launched in september of this year and these days the vocaloid community is mostly pjsk kids.

I stopped playing for a while but I started a new acc the other day and got a miku!!!

been a fan since the second project diva hit the psp. the game itself is pretty fun, it's a nice rhythm game that doesn't bleed your wallet, has fun charts albeit with generic mechanics. i like the stories too and while I'm not heads over heels for it, i can see why the fanbase are really invested into these characters.

i feel like the game doesn't receive enough credits for its programs to "give back" to the community. prosekanext and the costume design contest are amazing programs to give spotlight to upcoming producers and artists. their commissions also brought back some producers from the dead like fullkawa honpo. and the 5 groups representing different vocaloid music subgenres are quite cute and thoughtful. I'm sure the game now has more somgs than diva ever had.

the only thing I'm lamenting is the fact that this game killed project diva. sekai is fun, but nothing in sekai rekindled that feeling when i played rolling girl on 2nd for the first time.

definitely, i think their MVs are a bit bland compared to what diva has to offer though, but they're better than your average mobile otoge.
I'd kill (not really) for a sekai console game that plays just like diva but has sekai 3D and characters in it. i think it'll sell well. but there's no point in making it when the gacha contributed 50% to sega's entire mobile gaming division revenue.

Hmmmm… I was discussing something similar recently! Some gachas end up releasing an "offline" version at the end of their EOS, which would be cool w/ Sekai, but also, some release console versions even during the mobile one is ongoing, like with Bandori, where the console version doesn't have an internet connection and has it's own unique maps (sadly no collab songs iirc). Project sekai could possibly benefit from that! IDK if they would actually wanna go through with it or not tho.

I think my biggest issue with PJSK is that it doesn't play like DIVA. If it looked and played like PJD I would not mind all the OCs and story bs.

am i the only one who thinks the cryptonloids sound like shit in PJSK in comparison to the actual human singers?

i don't play the game but i was listening to the PJSK version of heat abnormal and KAITO sounds extremely out of place

I hate flick notes in this game so much. Judgement timing for them should be when the finger hits the screen (and then success is checked when the flick is finished) instead of timing it being when the finger flick is complete. It has genuinely stopped me from really playing as much as I otherwise would.

Sometimes I get it and it feels fine but most of the time I am pissed about it.

Also, I'm not going to lie, what I've read of the story is honestly not bad. There's too goddamn much for me to read through in a world where I have a bunch of manga and the lot that I want to read first, but it's pretty good.

I can't get into it simply for the fact that it's not DIVA

I don't play PJSK but a friend of mine often listens to music from this game and even though i like how the human singers sound, the Vocaloids sound so terrible and nasal that they completely ruin the song for me. Does this game use the superpack voicebanks or something? Luka's voice is unbearable.

My whole issue with PJSK is the gameplay. I don't care about the story, characters or even fans because I don't engage with westards for the most part. It just feels like a generic mobile rhythm game. Diva's gameplay was unique and it was already created with handheld devices in mind (the first game came out on the PSP) so I have no idea why they decided to go with that Piano Tiles style gameplay.

Pragmatically speaking, probably profit. There's not much you can really innovate with in regards to PJD without alienating your playerbase(by which I mean you can only churn out more pvs and add more songs, significant gameplay changes would probably be too complicated and far too late for what the diva fanbase is used to). Traditional rhythm games aren't a good model for profit.

Honestly, the concept of a miku bandori ripoff ain't even that bad, they should have just made it about different versions of miku instead of OCs.

I was always interested in the gameplay but the story seems like a hassle to get through and I don't like how the OCs take precedence over the vocaloids. Not that the OCs seem like bad characters, but I'm playing a vocaloid game for the vocaloids. The chunithym-like gameplay looks cool but part of me just misses what project diva had. Also the fanbase is annoying and terrible, especially on twitter. They feel more like kpop stans than vocaloid fans.

Yeah Len’t hair is hell. You can see how ixima tried to triangle-ify it, and that’s almost what kei’s original art looks like. But really you have to go full bunch of bananas with it. Modern anime art doesn’t accomodate it well

I think it's less that we have a rivalry (since I'm on both) but in the case of /leek/ hating pjsk it's a mix of a few things

- pjsk killed project diva coz it makes more money for sega so they sadly abandoned project diva (which sucks when ur like me who likes both and wants both)
- pjsk's fandom is full of obnoxious children that are a huge pain in the ass which can sour people's perception of the game
- besides nijicord (and some people might just see it as extreme angst bs tbf) most of the stories aren't exactly the most well written

I have a weakness for bandori type rhythm games so it's stolen my soul sadly

I feel like something that’s very frustrating to me as a pjsk fan is that so many people hate the fact Kanade and Mafuyu are so codependent on each other and either ignore it or complain about how “toxic” it is or whatever. Idc that’s what makes it hot I want to see them spiral out of control with their codependency and get so toxic in fanfic to levels colopale and sega could never reach in game. They can only go so far with the age rating and I want to watch these girls absolutely lose their minds please
