With the upcoming event we've decided to relaunch the MikuMikuTogether website with a proper installation guide (courtesy of Vocapedia), FAQ and a Gallery section to which you can contribute by posting images in this thread.
WHAT IS MIKUMIKUONLINE?
MikuMikuOnline (MMO/MMOP) is an avatar chatroom client by ange;art, released September 11, 2012. It lets users interact in 3D environments using MikuMikuDance models (.pmd/.pmx) and animations (.vmd). Players can explore stages, chat in real time, and play custom music and sounds with the built-in audio player.

MMO models are literally just MMD models with info.json files that define things such as their name, animations, etc. Most people use the default animations but some models like the Aimaina that comes with the MMT client has custom ones.

I saw the 64 ver can accept pmx files. Do I just drop a pmx folder in with the others? I tried that but it doesnt show up under my character select. Did any of you guys try it?

Update: It worked but now one model has a huge stretch on the textures and the other lost its clothes and also has the texture stretch. I'm still just happy I could see my models in it though so tyvm!

I'm not sure why this happens but its a bug with a lot of models in this game. If I had to guess it has something to do with the models using different bones than the default animations. But that's just my guess.

I think I did something wrong. I was testing it out on 2 different laptops and I think I broke something. It says that I'm logged 3 times (I'm only in twice) and my old models from the first time I opened the program on both laptops are just floating there. Image is from the view on this laptop I'll post from the other in a second.

The game was left unfinished and never updated for modern systems. But figamin (owner of wapchan.org and also an admin here) has the source code and is working on a fixed version.

Pretty stable. I was running it on Windows 11 with an English locale, and it only crashed once. Pretty impressive for an ancient unfinished Japanese game.

Not everything. Someone was having problems posting chat messages, and it crashes a lot on Linux. Perhaps setting the locale back to English, restarting, and completely reinstalling the old program plus the new exe and system folder would fix it, but I don't have access to their computers to be sure.
