I'm going to my first Vocaloid concert in 5 days. It's not an official event, it's being held at a con. But it's still a hologram concert and GUMI will be there.
For those who have been to one before, what should I expect?.
>>
Just came back from the concert. Got a free glowstick but it broke on the first song (i guess that's the power of wowaka).

Phone sucks donkey cock so i couldn't record anything but i'm hoping videos of the event will be uploaded on youtube soon.

Setlist (from memory):
>Unknown Mother Goose
>Shabon
>Vampire
>Kimipedia
>Popipo
>Luka Luka Night Fever
>Matryoshka
>Ura Omote Lovers
>World Is Mine
>Tell your world
>>

Forgot Baby Maniacs, that too was played
>>
Ooh, very nice.

I've never been to a Vocaloid concert. Really wish I could go to one at some point.

OP here.
Even if the event was completely fanmade and held at a con i think it was great. Setlist was nice, there were lots of people singing (especially during Luka Luka Night Fever, that song's amazing live), free glowsticks (albeit pretty cheap, mine broke on the first song) and i had a lot of fun in general. I am assuming you live in the US or Europe so you have higher chances of seeing an official concert there. Mikuexpo is still a thing, no?. I don't know how it compares but it's still a vocaloid concert after all so i would recommend it.

Heard through the grapevine that the group behind this event (vocaloid medley argentina) is planning on adding Teto songs to their setlists which would be pretty crazy considering Teto has only had like one or two concerts. Bread girl can't stop winning.

Anons, I'm the OP of this thread and I'm beginning to regret having been to that event. I don't know how many times I've attempted to relive that night in my head again. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". Well, I want to smile again then, I want it to happen again. I want to be in a dark room with hundreds of people again, singing my favorite songs word by word, shaking a cheap glowstick and going "Sekaaai deee" while staring at a dancing 3D model of Hatsune Miku being projected on a transparent fabric. I don't know why the stars aligned that night, at the peak of my Vocaloid obsession, on the one country that would be the least likely to have an event like this. But it happened, and it was beautiful. I'm not depressed, not at all, but I wish the stars would align again for a miracle like this to happen again.

First ever documented case of post-Miku clarity
>>

I feel that honestly.theres nothing like singing your favorite songs @ a vocaloid concert with other people
>>

I feel you. Miku lives are so fucking fun. Especially if they're official too.

I prefer unofficials just for the fact that the setlists are usually better (you either get the classics or more up to date stuff) and often feature other Vocaloids that aren't from Crypton like Gumi, Teto and Flower. Vidrel is unofficial and it's one of the best Vocaloid lives i've ever seen.
>>
>>84
Ah Nico Nico Cho Party eh? I admit the more flashy MV style animations are cool, but the actual dances lack the professionalism and smoothness of official concerts. Not to mention I don't travel much outside cryptonloid boundaries. I know of Yamaha's other vocaloids, utauloids, fanloids etc, I just don't really care.
>>
>>86
Personally I feel if they just rendered it in blender instead of MMD it would have solved a lot of the lack of smoothness ngl
>>
>>87
No no not just the smoothness. I'm talking the animation and the choreo of the dances. The fan made ones look a lot jerkier and more spastic than the official ones.
>>
>>86
I'm OP, the concert i went to used motion capture (although i believe it was pre-rendered) and the actual animations were rendered in either Blender, 3ds Max or some other 3D software because they had realistic hair and FT-like shading. Gumi was indeed there but only for Matryoshka.

>Miku lives are so fucking fun
OP here again. Yeah this is true. Trust me I'm a bitter asshole most of the time but I feel like a different person after that concert, no exaggeration. Not my first time going to one, I've been to Pantera and other non-Vocaloid bands, but Vocaloid is the one thing I'm extremely autistic about and being in a room filled with people like that who get extremely noisy the moment Len shows up…. yeah, it's something else. Sucks that I'll probably be in my early 30's by the time another similar event happens.

I get you. Managed to make it to the Australian miku expo. By god the atmosphere was just beautiful. Sucked me in instantly. My arms just would not stop going up and down and my throat was the sorest it has ever been afterwards from all the cheering. I just couldn’t stop smiling. I love miku so much bros…

Just found out there's apparently a term for this: PCD (Post-Concert Depression)
>>

It's like that for everything. I never got the same high I did after my first anime convention. You keep going back every year but it'll never really reach the levels of the first time (unless that first time was really bad for some reason). It's why addictions form
>>

My first anime convention was in 2014 and it wasn't particularly bad but it also wasn't the best thing in the world
