I do, I went to this years expo as Len, it is also a good way to see which VBs are popular since this year got tons of Adachi Rei's compared to previous years form whatI've seen. While some people have strong opinions about new and younger fans, it was also kinda heartwarming to get complimented by 2 12 year old siblings also cosplaying as kagamines and taking a picture with them.

Probably the worst thing about it is you just sweat a lot especially depending on who you are cosplaying as. I hope Miku showed mercy to those cosplaying as Kaito because heat certainly did not.

Also expo is probably one of the few events where you can see cosplays both from different IPs and just crossover cosplays despite it being centered around a single thing. This year I've seen at least 10 Furry Mikus, Doomguy Miku, Eggman Miku, just some dude cosplaying as Jesus, a good amount of sonic cosplayers and someone cosplaying Nicholas from Trigun for some reason but instead of the huge cross he had a Dodeka.

I've considered it. I have normie friends so cosplay is one of those things I've had in the back of my mind for years, just for the fear of being judged or called immature. But I've seen 50 year olds cosplaying so last year I gave it a shot and realized it's cool as fuck, people just come to you. So yeah, I've thought of doing Vocaloid cosplay at one of these events, especially considering so many people already do it. But if i did I'd cosplay an UTAU or some other synth no one gives a fuck about.

Cosplaying less popular characters/loids has it's own charm. They are not niche or unknown within the community but I saw some Kafu, Momo and Defoko cosplayers too and they were getting a good amount of attention since they (especially the kafu cosplayer) looked slick af and also there are already tons of Cryptonloids + Gumi/Tetos so after spending a few minutes around the venue you just get used to seeing them and it doesn't feel too special unlike the other 3. Still, seeing the nearby Dave's hot chicken being taken over by Cryptonloids at 11 PM was a sight to behold.

If i were to do that i'd probably do it at one of the 39chan meetups rather than Miku Expo. And that's assuming that they'll happen again and I have the motivation to put together a costume from scratch rather than commissioning it.
