Do you have any fond memories of older MikuExpos? Post them here
>>
Vancouver this year was my first so i didn't have a great first impression of MikuExpo until the actual show started

yes

Been going since 2016. Sadly, I've been beginning to experience the loss of some of those memories since it was my first Miku concert. At least there are a good few recordings.

2020 was gonna be my first expo if it wasn't for covid but either way, this year was great.

I was only gonna go to NJ one but someone on a Vocaloid group said they were giving away a boston day 1 ticket as they can't go. I waited to see if someone would pick it up but it was still there after 3 hours so I decided to go for it as my view at NJ wasn't great so I missed most of the visuals anyway.

It was kinda painful as I haven't prepared for another show at all and it was 5 hours of driving from where I live but I'm really glad I did go as it was really fun. I also met a really cool guy there, he was normally gonna just do day 1 but since I got a free ticket for day 1 and also wanted do day 2 while I'm there, I just bought both of us day 2 tickets so now I got someone who is into Vocaloid that I go to cons with which is nice. He also won a Miku plush for me im Round 1 as I suck with claw machines

Did you get a 39chan card?
>>
>>2528
Boston was the first attempt at a /live/ meetup and if i'm not mistaken it failed so i highly doubt anon got a card. Otakon was the first successful one lol.
>>
My first was 2024 and you already know how that turned out. Still enjoyed it though.

2024 really did irreversible damage to LEDs image in general. I feel like some people would still say "LED shit" if they bringed pokemiku or miku with you setup in here because of how rough 2024 NA looked. EU 2024 was already looking better it was too late at that point.

If i'm not mistaken the LED screen was a last minute choice, hence why it looked so bad. Newer concerts with LED screens look fine. The Japanese concerts especially hide the screen pretty well.

To this day I still wonder why they haven't used transparent LEDs like the ones in picrel though. I assume they're pricey.

My theory was they were gonna retire the hologram anyway but it was probably a planned transition where they slowly swapped everything but covid kinda fucked things up and with 2020 NA expo getting canceled, their first overseas tour concert in a longtime not selling out would have probably caused issues in 2024 so they just kept quiet which was scummy ngl. At least we did see a good amount of improvements between each expo so there is always a reason to look forward for next expo.

(I'm not sure if it was the same tech but I think they did used the transparent LED or something similar in project circles this year, feedback I saw was mostly around meh to good. No one was calling it thrash but there was also no real "praise" either)

My first concert ever was Expo in 2018 and I believe only Texas shows had Anamaguchi headlining so that was cool. I was very jealous of the Japanese couple standing behind me in line because they were wearing their MM2016 happis to the show since watching its BD is what really made me want to go to Miku concerts. >>2479

Maybe i'm biased because it was my first but i also went to 2018 and its been my favorite Mikuexpo so far. Went to 2024 and 2026 and still had a good time but neither really surprised me as much. And no, i don't think the LEDs have anything to do with it.

>I think they did used the transparent LED or something similar in project circles this year
Are there any videos or pics of that? I'm curious
>>
Transparent LEDs are a bit pricey right now but I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually start using them in the future
>>
I'm not from Mexico but i went there for Expo 2024. It was held at the Pepsi World trade center. Regardless of all the problems Expo 2024 had i still found it memorable. Mikufiesta was amazing live and it's sad that they'll never add it back to the setlist.
>>
>>2975
In the miniscule chance that next Expo includes Latin America i could see them adding it back to the setlist
>>
>>2911
They're also not the best quality rn. I def can see them being used in the future, just not right yet.
>>
>>2981
I've never seen one up close but they don't look too bad in the pics
>>

>>2524
Why though
>>
>>2911
How pricey are we talking
