I've been meaning to reduce some of the board bloat the site currently has. /leek/, /c/, /g/ and /mmd/ are (in order) the most active boards as of right now, so those are here to stay. As for /live/, it's quite useful despite not being very active so I have no reason to delete it, similarly, I'm not going to get rid of /meta/ because this is where all discussion related to the site goes.
With /uta/, /fic/, /mu/ and /o/ it's a whole different story. First of all, /uta/ was made because of the overlap between vocaloid and utaites, however, due to this being a vocaloid site there's barely anyone talking about utaites here which is understandable. A similar thing happens with /mu/ - no one's using that board. One possible solution i thought of, which probably wouldn't change much, is merging /uta/ with /mu/ since after all utaites do fall under "other music".
/fic/ on the other hand was made for the fujo crowd since we do have plenty of them here but considering it's primarily a Vocaloid themed board it could just be merged with /leek/. While not strictly a porn website, we ARE an adult website, so i don't think anyone would have a problem with threads about Vocaloid related erotica there or books/doujinshi/any other form of literature so long as it's Vocaloid related.
Finally, /o/ is a board that exists… /o/ was made for sharing original artwork but considering /leek/ already has a drawthread (which is kinda dead as of the time I'm writing this) merging with /leek/ doesn't seem like a terrible idea. And besides, when we do get drawfags here this is the first board they visit. "But what about the porn?" - again, this is an adult site, but I understand that 90% of this site's users come here to discuss Vocaloid rather than to jack off, so one solution would be to allow NSFW content as long as it's tagged. For this we would have to implement a "Tag as NSFW" function, similar to what we had with spoilers before December 8th. (I do plan on re-implementing this btw).
Anyway, as always, I want to hear feedback before anything is carried out. Community input before impulsive decisions.

These past few days I've been considering retiring the infamous /otn/ board. As I see it the board is just a remnant of the old 39chan from 2024, and it's really just sitting there collecting dust and wasting space on 39chan's server. All the content there is stuff you can find on sites like Gelbooru and Rule 34, which are much better options to post that type of content if you're a NSFW artwork archivist. And if you really prefer the Futaba-like imageboard format for your hentaiposting, 4chan's /h/ board is much more active and better for this purpose. Nothing stops you from making a Vocaloid thread there.
Drawthreads are also basically useless there with /o/ existing.
Another reason to get rid of the board is /otn/ barely gets any traction compared to rest of the boards. As of writing this the last post on it is from a month ago.

I'm largely indifferent to the idea of an official YouTube channel, since I would just see the content here anyway, and while I could be wrong, I do think the risk of 39chan having a social media presence is a bit overstated.
