 No.154[View All]

With how often this site gets updated I figured I'd make a thread for news as well as feedback in case you want to suggest things, report bugs, etc. The original suggestions/complaints thread will be locked for archival purposes, use this thread from now on.

As of December 27, 2024 we've introduced BBCode, courtesy of Rads from Rotting Angels. BBCode for font sizes has also been removed to prevent abuse. Regular chan markup still works alongside it I believe.

I don't think the romaji is working for this one boss. Unless you're using a variant of her name that I don't know.

Did you spell it with an L or an R because i spell it with an R and it works just fine

 No.869

I think I've tried both at different times, copied straight from either VocaDB or one of the wikis, but I could be misremembering. The only time it ever worked for me was when I put in her Japanese name.

Of the not so many songs featuring her, it's like a 50/50 split for spelling the name Eru and Elu (also Amaga is sometimes Amaka)
Probably best to set all possible combinations as valid

I think it was being discussed in another thread not on /meta/, but are stickies limited to showing the last reply? It'd be nice if they could show 5 replies from /all/.

Might be a bad idea, but what if there was a community youtube channel for stuff posted to the site? Personally I have no interest in posting covers myself, but if I could contribute anonymously, I would. But it could also be an awful idea. I dunno.

I like the new mikuexpo banner on the frontpage. Is it gonna stay there for the remainder of the event? and is it an one time thing or are we getting more banners?.

>>926
I disagree, 39chan doesnt need a social media presence, a Twitter account and a Bluesky account are enough as is. Besides the Twitter account already promotes OC from time to time.

 No.928

>>923
I know its unlikely given that the mods want nothing to do with the WVF but i hope this means the possibility of a MonochroMenace Q&A

 No.929

>>927
It will be there until it ends. 39chan's userbase is mostly Americans and Europeans, so it makes sense to promote the only official event in those regions (We don't get MM in America/Europe).

>>928
We never said anything like that, so don't put words in our mouths. The short answer is that we simply haven't reached out to any western producers yet.

You gotta remember that 39chan isn't the small site it was when it went online. It's not owned by 3 people, we have a whole team now, and some of the members of T39 even have connections to the western side of the fandom, so it's not exactly out of the question. Just be more patient.

 No.930

>>927
It's already too much that this site has a social media presence at all. If this site wants to stand on its own merits it sure as fuck shouldn't be attracting anyone on Xitter.

 No.931

>>930
No one there gives a fuck about the site from what i've seen

>Personally I have no interest in posting covers myself, but if I could contribute anonymously, I would.
I kinda feel similarly, but at the end of the day, if I ever started consistently making content that was of interest to people other than users of this site, I should just bite the bullet and make some social media accounts.
I'm largely indifferent to the idea of an official YouTube channel, since I would just see the content here anyway, and while I could be wrong, I do think the risk of 39chan having a social media presence is a bit overstated. There needs to be at least a trickle of new users in order to keep the site interesting.

 No.933

>>932
The ideal model is probably to get a trickle of new users in proportion to the current population (ex. growing the userbase, but avoiding the kind of sudden influx that would cause an Eternal September event).

 No.934

>>932
We already have SNS but in the case of covers and originals I think people should post them on youtube themselves. I get that anonimity is the appeal of 39chan and you probably don't want a name attached to your cover but its not that hard to just make a new account on youtube with a name separate from your main id.

 No.935

>>932
Organic growth is desirable, flash point tourism is not. I don't find anything organic about lifting anonymous OC and attributing it to the site's brand to play social media manager. Anyone that wants to end up here will find their way on their own, or through actual word of mouth, as most people here already have.

>I don't find anything organic about lifting anonymous OC and attributing it to the site's brand
Yeah, that's a good point.

I think Leekaloids are inherently tied to the site's "brand" but I agree with what you're saying

Good news anon, you are finally able to mark images as NSFW.

This feature was added so that posts containing nudity and/or sex on boards such as /mmd/, and suggestive/ecchi content on boards such as /leek/ can finally be tagged properly. Please don't use spoiler tags for these types of posts anymore unless it is an actual spoiler for something. Thank you.

Also keep in mind that this change doesn't mean that NSFW content is now allowed on SFW boards.

I'm not a web developer, but I noticed that the new File Settings drop-down menu does not have autocomplete="off" . Name, Options, Embed, and Password all do.

 No.959

Autocomplete=off is for inputs

 No.960

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Attributes/autocomplete
>[The autocomplete HTML attribute] is available on <input> elements that take a text or numeric value as input, <textarea> elements, <select> elements, and <form> elements.
https://dofactory.com/html/select/autocomplete
>The autocomplete attribute on a <select> tag specifies that the select element is autocompleted with a previously selected option.
My concern is that if someone previously set a file to spoiler, their browser may submit every form afterwards with spoilered files until their cookies and/or cache is cleared. I don't know, again I'm not a web dev.

>are you sure its not your browser?
No I am not, but every browser/device I checked shows your image as spoilered, was that your intent? and if not, can you look at your post on another browser/device? Multiple files after the update are also spoilered, seemly at random.
