Introducing PaintBBS: the new Oekaki Mikudayo 02/10/26 (Tue) 18:10:39 No.769 [Reply]

Starting today, the old Oekaki board will be replaced with Potiboard, a Futaba based tool which lets you draw using PaintBBS, Tegaki, Axnos Paint, Shi-Painter and more. Those of you who used Vocaloidism back in the day are probably familiar with this format as it was used by that site as well in the early 2010's.

Nay, you can still access it, you just won't be able to post on it. The board is locked and archived, and will remain up for as long as 39chan itself lives.

So far we don't have any restrictions on what cannot be drawn aside from "spammy" drawings such as stickman penises and the type of "art" you'd expect to see from an elementary schooler with access to a pen and paper, those will be deleted on sight. Of course, drawings must remain Vocaloid related, this is a Vocaloid site after all.

what if 39ch held its own vocal synth popularity contest? maybe yearly? maybe there could be one based on all-time favourites, and one based on vocal synths that had most favourite original songs published that year? (e.g. if you mainly liked teto songs from this year, you'd vote for teto)

39chan is in need of a new frontpage banner and we need (You), yes YOU, to design it.

Rules:
<Banner must be 750x200 or 750x300 and include "39chan" somewhere
<It must include between 4-9 vocal-synthesizer characters like the current banner
<Do not draw extremely obscure characters (e.g. your own UTAU from 2010), stick to characters that are recognizable to at least 3 people (This rule does not apply to 39chan characters such as Sena and TORIKO)
<Simple, chibi art styles are preferred but not required
<Vsynth doesn't matter - you can draw from vocaloid and voicevox to synthv and maidloid
<No Photoshop or AI garbage
<No pronz, keep it SFW
<3D is allowed as long as the models are original (Note: Koikatsu does not count)

The captcha is there to slow down CSEM bots who spam our site. We still get them, sadly, but we're still trying to find ways to fight against them. If you're into Vocaloid you should know the answer but I posted a hint in the meta thread.

Poll time. How would fellow 39chfrends feel if the site was expanded to include other 4/jp/ related topics as originally intended before the rebrand from Nanachan to vsqchan/39chan?.

This would include boards dedicated to Touhou and 07th Expansion (Higurashi, Umineko, etc). We already have an Utaite board.

My only fear is that this could detract from the site's main purpose which is to host Vocaloid discussions. I want >>>/leek/ to be the site's "main" board. So having a completely unrelated board on a Vocaloid site become the top board would be kinda ironic.

i'd say yes but i don't know if having dedicated boards for each of those topics is the way to go. i think a general otaku culture board like /jp/ is the way to go, but i get it if the intent is to "filter" out otaku cultures that aren't in the spirit of the board like JAV.

vsqchan is hard to pronounce, doesn't give away much info about the site and looks ugly on the banners. 39chan rolls off the tongue better, people associate 39 with Miku so you instantly know what the site is about and with other chan sites having numbers in their url (2chan, 4chan, 8chan, etc) it fits.
