I feel like they’ll be using LEDs until some more advanced technology comes out. I’ve heard of shows using transparent screens that would be fine. The holograms are probably too much trouble outside Japan.

>>889>The holograms are probably too much trouble outside JapanHow so? They've used them for decades up until Expo 2024
No.891
>>890The take I've heard is that the US holograms were always kind of jank/cheaper compared to JP, and for the most recent Expos, they've expanded the number of venues so that there's less time to set up and more complexity involved. In general it feels like there's more Western demand than the showrunners can handle and they're a little stretched thin. Makes me think of how they keep understocking the pen lights too.
No.892
>>891Does that mean Miku / PJSK are a money sink for Crypton? There's no way they wouldn't be able to afford even the cheaper holograms
No.893
They used LEDs for the Asian tour last year as well.
No.987
I would still much prefer a hologram but the recent Deco Miku concert made great use of the screens so if they're used in creative ways like that i welcome them
No.989
>>892Not Miku/PJSK, but the concerts maybe. If I had to guess, I'd guess they're designed to break even.
>>894This would be basically fine. As long as they don't have a 16:9 black box with a fireworks display behind it.
No.990
I think they should at the very least try to hide that it's a big black box. You can tell where the screen begins and where it ends with all the lights behind it.
No.991
>>890I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily more a hassle but more so a time thing. Considering how tight they make their tour schedule outside Japan, they don’t have as much time to set up, calibrate, and take down the set up. If the hologram isn’t calibrated right, the whole concert would look weird and they can’t fix it mid-concert. This has actually happened at a Miku Expo event before and while people still had fun, half of the projection was messed up. For the LEDs, while there was an error or two, they could potentially fix any problems during the event if needed.
When they’re in Japan, they usually have things a bit more spaced out so they have more time to make sure things look right. They have used the LED screens at a handful of concerts, but like another anon said before, I wouldn’t be surprised if eventually they fully transition to LEDs.
No.998
I wonder why they don't use a curved screen.
No.1007
>>999If they can't even get massive artists there i doubt they'll get Miku. But i guess a man can dream.
No.1008
>>1007Honestly barely any of the artists who've performed at the Sphere stand out because of their visuals. When I think of music with cool visuals I think of bands like Tool not U2. But at the end of the day it's not us who choose who gets to perform there. A Miku concert there would definitely be life changing though.
No.1010
>>1006IA has used LEDs before, I don't think anyone was complaining. I guess it looks good for the audience as long as you don't have any seats on the sides. Problem with Miku concerts is that they are bigger in scale so they need those side seats to ensure everyone can watch, and those people will see through the illusion.

Teto Live used a screen too last year if I'm not mistaken but that concert was way smaller

>>1099Expense and quality. To put it simply, it's still too new.
While I can definitely see it being an option in the future, it's one of those things where it's better to wait for the technology to further develop before adoption.
Using LG for a reference, a 77" Transparent currently runs at pretty much $100k, 77" plain old smart TV is about $2400. Plus, the common complaint I've seen from the rich who can afford it, is that the quality just simply isn't as clean in comparison. This is all consumer stuff, not corporate, so prices and sizes, of course, would be different in Miku's case.

No.1792
>>1789Performance visa fee? That sounds ridiculous.
No.1794
>>1792Ridiculous but true. It’s specifically the US fee that had a sharp increase in 2024. Whether or not they were affected in 2024 is unknown. That said it’s only the band that would need to be considered iirc but that’s just the likely case. Either way, the main reason I’m going isn’t the band, it’s Miku. So as long as the band can play, it’s no big deal who they are as long as Miku is on screen. Especially since they haven’t had a specific dedicated band in years.
