Should be held in New York next time even if New York sucks
No.1850
>>1849I do (or at least pretty close)
Newark would have been a 4-5 hour drive which I wouldn't mind if I knew a good amount of people were gonna show up but there wasn't any definite plans here
No.1851
There’s also Otakon. I’ll be there the Saturday.

>>1836Rhode Island? I doubt it
But yes the best states to do this in are New York and New Jersey, and the other option is whatever state starts the tour. This year it was Chicago.

I use both PC and mobile to post and ik I used to have separate IPs coz I just moved earlier this year lmao

No.1868
>>1852From what I understand you were not familiar with Vocaloid before buying this site, right? Funny to see you converted to "Vocaloidism" lmao.
No.1869
>>1868I didn't "buy" the site, I volunteered to help fix the database and then decided to stay on. I was aware of vocal synths for years (as you kind of inevitably are hanging out in otaku spaces for long enough) but it's only recently that I've gotten more into it, especially after I stayed playing Project DIVA.
I like defoko.

Met so many cool people at the Hamilton show. A girl in the front row gave the drummer some flowers and he gave her his drumsticks. Absolutely based, and such a fantastic show.

Is anyone going to the last show in Mexico?

MikuExpo NA ends in a few days

Was the last show (before Mexico) Toronto? I see so many people talking about it yet it doesn't seem to be listed in the OP website

There's a thread on this board about that. Yeah it hits hard, but it hits the hardest for me with Miku concerts.

No.1927
>>1926>It hit even harder in 2024 since it was my first showSame here, first show for me wasn't even an official one because Crypton hates my continent so we'll never get a MikuExpo. But it still changed my life.

Either way hope you get one eventually
No.1929
>>1928Latin American. Still baffled as to why Crypton has never considered doing a MikuExpo here considering how massive Vocaloid is in Brazil, but it is what it is, at least Mexico which i guess could be considered part of Latin America got an expo this year and 2024.

No.2036
While I'm glad that this expo wasn't as chaotic as the 2024 one I have to admit i kinda missed the weird shenanigans from '24.
With '24 you had people talking about it all the time. It didn't matter where the Expo took place, you knew something odd was gonna happen. We had all kinds of weird shit going on from a drunk driving incident that almost killed people to someone pissing on the floor and a 60-something year old sex offender being sighted at one of the shows (not that any of these things were good but fuck it was all so strange).
The most that happened at this one was the Vancouver stuff, the failed 39chan meetup and someone fucking in a hotel after one of the shows.
No.2037

Vocaloid concerts are truly magical
No.2041
>>2036'24 was the first US tour in six years and the first one after the corona swell, so it was always destined to be an all eyes thing even before people pissed themselves over the screen. There hasn't ever really been anything unique about any specific Expo show, especially now that they are repeating venues regularly, beyond "incidents" like that hammed up for socials. I've personally gotten fatigued with people trying to mythologize events based on a couple tweets the same way you get rubbernecking for a lot of vocal synth stuff.
Most of that shit honestly pales to people dealing drugs at Digital Stars '16 though.
No.2042
>>2041Admittedly, I think only 2024 NA had that much chaos. Though I think it was necessary to get people's minds off the screen and have a good time. 2026's didn't have as much. At most maybe a few notable things, but the most anyone did was try to repeat gags from 2024, excluding the Vancouver chaos, because I don't think anyone expected that night to happen.
No.2050
So the /live/ meetup didn't happen huh
What a shame
Maybe next time the location should be picked in advance and on a bigger board like /leek/ because barely anyone posts here
No.2051
>>2050I get that /leek/ is more active but /leek/ is used by the same people that use this board and viceversa so there's no point in announcing it there. We should decide the location in advance though.
No.2052
>>2050>>2051I should have probably just gone down to jersey, or even further afield if i can find a place to stay. But yeah we should post our plans and then figure it out from there instead of guessing
