 No.43

What went wrong?

 No.44

>>43
Crunchyroll.

 No.45

File: 1737419547941.jpg(31.61 KB, 686x386, hq720.jpg)

Here's to hoping that they actually use holograms this year and don't fuck up the security to the point where you have people pissing in the venue. I'd feel bad if this was somebody's first Vocaloid concert experience.

 No.46

>>44
Crypton too

 No.47

in hindsight it really wasnt that bad
i wish she was bigger, though.

 No.48

>>47
A screen is still super cheap and feels like a kick to the balls. Fan concerts like Vocamerica and Vocaloid Medley use holograms so what's stopping Crypton here?.

 No.72

File: 1745104510054.jpg(55.57 KB, 720x1116, GKYGAmjXwAA-zjy.jpg)

For those who went how small was the screen? because in pictures it looks tiny

Also will they do this again for the next one? I'd hope not

 No.73

>>72
It was big enough to contain the choreography, so probably 6ftx12ft or similar. How big it feels depends on the distance.
I went to 2 showings - one I waited 8hrs for a good pit spot, other was seated and I was middle of the pack. When I was close up the TV looked fine, probably better than the projector even, since it filled most of my field of vision. Halfway through the crowd though the TV outline stood out like the black box in nununu's videos. It took mental effort to ignore the it and focus on the performance. So my recommendation if they have the same garbage setup is to battle for the best view possible.
For what it's worth, if there were no lights on behind the TV, you wouldn't be able to tell it was there.

 No.74

>>73
I really don't understand why they just didn't settle for cheaper materials if they wanted to cut costs, instead of using a literal screen

 No.75

>>74
The speculation I've heard is that the screen is more durable or easier to transfer between venues which is more relevant to the international tours than the JP ones. They've used screens for Miku x Kodo and it looked good, though, so really they just buffed it for Expo.

Was MikuExpo USA really that bad? What was the song/setlist?

 No.77

>>76
the screens were used for the whole tour not just the US

 No.78

I still want to attend miku expo but I was wondering what songs/setlist do they usually go with?

 No.79

>>76
It was a miku concert, so it was good, but it was probably the weakest tour so far. Since it was the 10th anniversary, they played all the old expo theme songs, and they geberally kinda suck outside magical cure love shot. That sucked up 3 setlist spots per venue and the show was 1-2 songs shorter than people expected also. They didn’t have time to play Godish which I was surprised by.
>>78
Usually you get a blend of recent Mirai songs and old reliable stuff.

 No.80

>>43
Nothing much honestly. All concert recording I've seen of the expo was full of people having fun. It was just modern drama vultures and vocatourists being unable to live without constantly shitting on CFM.

 No.81

>>80
correction: *concert recordingS

 No.83

>>80
a screen does kinda suck though you have to admit that

 No.85

>>83
If your seat's on the side of it, fair enough. But the atmosphere more than makes up for it unless you're purposefully being a downer.

 No.90

>>83
>>80
>>85
It was really fun for the most part. the worst aspect of the screen was simply it's size. Miku was life-sized instead of scaled up a bit as she usually is, so it was a bit hard to see her if you werent decently close to the screen

 No.92

File: 1745442358426.jpg(17.34 KB, 480x360, ackshuallyhmm.jpg)

I've had this shower thought for a while now but what if you feggits actually organized a Miku con, with blackjack and hookers?. Think about it, a fully Vocaloid con (it wouldn't be the first) with producers, panels, maybe a fanmade concert too. Would it be possible 39choon? would it?.

 No.93

>>92
It's not a bad idea but you'd need money, contacts, and a plan, and most importantly you'd have to organize it outside this site. Otherwise say hello to the new DashCon. I've never organized a con though so take what i'm saying with a grain of salt.

 No.94

>>93
actually how legal even is it to host fanmade concerts? i know its been done before (see vocamerica, miku live houston, etc) but hmm…

 No.97

there better be a ballpit

 No.107

>>92
If she can have her own concert despite being a literal who then so can we

 No.108

Every single vocaloid concert(at least the official ones) are good and the only people shitting on them are people who never even went there.

 No.109

>>108
Oh trust me all Vocaloid concerts are good. Even the unofficial ones are an experience. So I'd imagine that even with a screen I'd still have a blast. Holograms are better doe.

 No.119

>>108
I'm sure it was still fun for first time goers but the last two I had been to both had the proper hologram and the Japanese band members from Magical Mirai. CR is shit and doesn't deserve a single penny, CFM better not give them the next one

 No.136

So when's Miku Expo 2025?

 No.137

>>136
You gotta wait another year, chief. Now is a good time to prepare.

 No.138

>>137
I'm stupid, are you saying there won't be one this year or that there won't be one held in the US?

 No.139

On the bright side... there's fan events like Miku Live 2025

 No.140

>>138
Expo is the non-Japan tours, they typically run every other year. There will be other concert series in Japan

 No.143

>>140
>There will be other concert series in Japan
That was Blooming wasn't it? It's a shame they don't do recordings of those shows, or at least release them because they did put like 2 songs from the 2023 show on youtube for a bit. I wanted to see Mesmerizer

 No.158

So no events this year in the US aside from that fanmade one in Texas?

 No.159

>>158
I'm not american but if i were you i'd keep an eye out for fanmade events like the Miku Live! you mentioned because there will be no Mikuexpo this year

 No.160

>>159
why no miku expo

 No.161

>>160
the expos are held once every 2 years aren't they?

 No.163

People who went to the 2024 expo, what did you think of the setlist?

 No.165

>>92
I'm interested
I think someone in here could possibly pull it off but it would have to be at some sort of anime con and you gotta pray that it doesn't become the Dashcon of Vocaloid events

 No.166

>>163
I went to the Van show, I thought the list was great. It was a little English-heavy for my taste since it featured a lot of the past Expo themes, but I get it's for the Western audience as a whole.
I really wanted to see Tell Your World and Hyper Reality Show, and I got both. Childish War and Gimme x Gimme were unexpected surprises. Unknown Mother Goose with Miku wearing the colors of the 2020 theme was really cool, that song was extra incredible to experience live.
Fuck me I'm getting emotional just reminiscing about my time there, it was so much fun bros

 No.167

>>166
>Fuck me I'm getting emotional just reminiscing about my time there, it was so much fun bros
I feel this. Miku concerts are like a drug. Go to one and you'll have the time of your life but when it ends you'll want more.

 No.168

>>167
makes me wish i had the money to go to the first miku expo in my country last year :( i really hope we end up with more in nz/aus

 No.169

>>163
The section for previous Expo song contest winners dragged it down, and I wish it was a smidge longer, but it was great otherwise. Love shot was incredible live.

 No.170

>>168
Brazilian here, i wish we got mikuexpos in oue continent at all

 No.171

>>170
I think there's been fan concerts in Brazil. Crypton's CEO also expressed interest in doing the next Miku Expo in the continent as well so who knows, you might be getting Miku in Brazil next year.

 No.172

>>163
Bit too many english songs but they all sounded great live so who cares really. I got to cheer to lucky orb so I'm pretty damn satisfied.

 No.264

Any Vancouver anons? Did the MikuExpo pee incident really happen or was it just a big meme?

 No.267

>>264
I was at the front of the pit, didn't see nor hear anything. Probably just kids starting dumb shit

 No.268

Don't know about the pee incident but a drunk driver almost hit people at the San Jose one

 No.281

>>268
Imagine dying without seeing Miku
That would've sucked major ass

 No.282

 No.314

The people shitting on MExpo2024 were people who went there though.
Honestly i think i would go even if it had a screen, miku concerts have this sort of energy that you don't get from regular concerts from other bands.

 No.319

>>314
>The people shitting on MExpo2024 were people who went there though.
NTA but that's not exactly fair to say either. I was at the first showing, everyone I talked to there and online afterwards said they had a great time. If you watched Twitter, the initial outrage largely seemed to be caused by people from cities they hadn't gone to yet, and each time they hit another venue, more and more people started to sing praise.
I'm sure there were attendees that complained too, but from what I could tell almost everyone that went said they had a good to great time.

Definitely not saying they shouldn't make improvements, though. CrunchyRoll doesn't deserve to touch Expo.

 No.320

>>319
nta but i saw people who went shitting on it too but on social media. that was when the screen was revealed though, eventually they warmed up to it.

 No.321

>>314
>Honestly i think i would go even if it had a screen, miku concerts have this sort of energy that you don't get from regular concerts from other bands.

Excellent point aside, if you're capable of ignoring the cheering crowd, the music(the live arrangements are good no matter who plays them, the band in questions is just a novelty) and Miku dancing for (you) on stage just to seethe at muh fancy technology, all I can say is that you might be better off grabbing a seppuku instruction.

 No.322

 No.375

How terrible of an idea would it be to bring a banner like this to the next Mikuexpo?

 No.376

>>375
I do think it'd be funny to bring one with some 39chan inside joke just for lulz but preferably one which doesnt directly mention the site. We don't need normies coming to /leek/. We already had enough with schizoid /jp/ immigrants thinking this is a gossip website and spewing braindead /pol/ slang.

 No.377

Either way there won't be a Miku Expo this year from the looks of it so you guys have plenty of time

A bit cliche i guess, we need something else

Wouldn’t they be announcing expo 26 in a couple months or so?

 No.385

How about just "YAMAHAAA" considering that's a bit of a meme here

Where’s miku expo asia tour thread?

 No.407

>>406
I guess this is the mikuexpo general thread

 No.408

>>406
I would love to go to one of the shows but I don't want to pay to watch a TV on stage

 No.409

>>408
i hope that isn't still the case, but it probably is. really disappointing.

 No.410

>>385
Just intuition based on when they announced the 2024 tour. I could be wrong, I don’t really remember it well.

 No.411

>>408
I would've assumed they learned from last expo

 No.421

>>408
do they at least have a live band that plays along? That's enough for me. Also what do they use besides a TV? Is it a hologram?

 No.428

>>421
I believe so. In the OP image you can see the band.

 No.432

The concerts always have band members off to the sides of the stage. Most concerts use a projection and what I believe is a Dilad Screen, basically a big sheet of plastic. A few concerts have used LED screens (MikuFes, Kodo, latest Expo)

Hope you get to go regardless of the stage setup, Vocaloid concerts are bonkers fun

 No.433

>>432
Teto Live 2025 also used a screen

 No.534

Part of me wishes this board existed while the MikuExpo 2024 was still happening just to see the chaos unfold in these threads

 No.535

>>534
Both 39chan and /live/ already existed when expo 2024 was going on. The first thread on this board is literally about it. But it was nowhere near as active as it is now.

 No.536

>>534
/jp/ was sufficient for this at the time, and the fallout was so awful that it killed /jp/ post quality forever and in perpetuity

 No.537

>>536
Can confirm, I was on /jp/ as it was happening and it was like watching a car crash in slow motion.
>it killed /jp/ post quality forever and in perpetuity
I wouldn't blame it entirely on Mikuexpo because it's not just the Vocaloid generals that suck ass, it's the entire board.

 No.851

>>536
expo 2024 didnt kill the post quality. tetofag and the entire zako incident did.

 No.917

>>851
>random bait posting
Its totally not the retards spamming random 2hu garbage 24/7 that didn't kill /jp/. That's what a franchise with no standards looks like.

 No.918

>>917
I think anon is talking about the vocaloid general not /jp/ as a whole

 No.919

>>918
>I think anon is talking about the vocaloid general not /jp/ as a whole

I couldn't even find any vocaloid threads because everything non-2hu related was slid off the board immediately.

 No.920

CTRL + F "Vocaloid"?
