 No.412

They finally announced it. As expected it's not in North America or Europe, it's in Asia.

 No.413

Of course it's in Asia. Dammit, I wish i could go.
Surprised tha there's not a single date for Japan.

Screen or hologram? place your bets

 No.415

Either way it’ll be a fun time. Korea’ll be my best bet

Hologram.
I doubt they'll repeat the same mistake again and besides it doesn't seem like Crunchyroll will be sabotaging this one like they did 2024.

What even is the difference between the hologram and the screen?

It's a better experience for those further away but it ruins the whole illusion that Miku is there on stage and a hologram is basically expected as part of the concerts. They used a TV to cut costs but the very least they could have done is hide it by building the stage around the screen (some smaller JP concerts have done this) instead of plopping it on the middle of the stage. And there was the problem of them never saying anything about changing it to a LED screen despite them copypasting the description of a transparent screen on the description of the concert (which they quietly changed afterwards)

Still would’ve have went.

 No.440

Honestly same. I would much prefer they used a hologram but I would still go even if they used a screen because the experience makes up for it. Unfortunately I'm not Asian kek.

Shame. I'll be going to Kuala though. Korea sold out way too damn fast.

Blooming was basically Miku Expo for Japan. They played some of the expo themes after all.

File: 1757368007371.jpeg(135.52 KB, 1080x1080, GzlgTEGaAAAgBl9.jpeg)

No one seems to have mentioned this but 2026 is confirmed already and they're having a song contest for it. The guidelines also state that they allow non-Miku songs.

Now place your bets on where 2026 will take place.

Hopefully they have a good variety of east coast US shows. New Jersey was more convenient than I thought but the seated sports stadium venue was kinda lame.

Expo 2025 setlist here

 No.630

>>629
pretty great setlist honestly, i hope expo 2026's is as good

 No.631

Very good setlist and the stage looks much better. Still a screen but everything seems way more thought out. Hope the NA tour looks as good. Little sad that World is Mine and Tell Your World aren't there though. As much as they've been played, I want to shout those lyrics again

 No.640

I'm not upset that they're using a screen but my question is WHY are they using a screen after the use of screens at the previous expo was so poorly received and they've been doing holograms for nearly a decade at this point?

It can't be that expensive if people in places like indonesia and argentina are able to host similar events with actual holograms.

On the bright side the screens are bigger this time, I'd imagine that for the people in the front it wouldn't be much different than the hologram

Absolutely sovlless.

That one anon from Japan is lucky he gets to attend MM and the other concerts. Call me a vocaboomer but these screens suck ass.

At the end of the day, Crypton is the one that has the final say. I bet crunchyroll is still a sponsor, they always were before but now they aren't front and center like last time.

Absolutely. I had a blast at the 2024 show and it looks better than it did then

It’s not stunning, but it’s an improvement. Ideally they would learn to put lights in front of the screen only. Not behind.

 No.655

>>652
>>654
it's really not that bad but i do think they should've built the stage around it to make it look less like a big wall.
other than that it's way better than what we got at the 2024 expo.

 No.659

Are holograms genuinely that expensive?

 No.660

>>659
They aren't really holograms, but still the effect would take time to calibrate at every single venue so it's much easier for them to just carry around a big screen they can just plop on stage. However, there's transparent screens that would be able to achieve the same effect but they didn't bother use one of those (probably much more expensive) or try to hide the fact it's just a TV by building the stage around it

 No.661

>>659
Seconding that it’s probably more of a pain in the ass. In Japan they book the same venues each year, and they’re geographically closer than the Expo ones, so it’s easier to come up with a standard stage design and move the equipment back and forth.
Before 2024, they still used different equipment for Expo compared to the Japanese concerts, and I’ve seen people complain it was shittier and wobbling all over the place. To me that’s still preferable to the Giant Black Box effect but whatever. They should really just put a curtain or wall up flush with the TV so you can’t see the edge of it.
