 No.23

So we've all heard of people recording MikuExpo on their 3DS but is there footage of Vocaloid concerts recorded on VHS/Hi8? i'm a sucker for analog technology and i'm curious if anyone has even tried that yet

 No.25

Recently got my old 8mm hitachi camcorder working with the only issue being almost a non-issue (timestamp displaying 1993 instead of 2024. probably fixable but too lazy to figure out how.)
if there's a miku concert where i live which is unlikely but not impossible i'll try to record. hopefully while sitting because not only is it a little big but could also break easily with all the jumping around.

 No.34

feel like this has more to do with whether the venue allows it or not. then again there were people with their weiners out at that one infamous mikuexpo earlier this year.

 No.35

>>34
There were people who What

 No.36

>>35
didnt someone straight up take a piss at one of the concerts this year

 No.37

>>35
Allegedly someone peed on the floor at MikuExpo 2024 in Vancouver. There were also reports of people vomiting and someone stealing a Miku cardboard cutout.

Woodstock 99 is back motherfuckers.

 No.41

Do they allow handheld camcorders in venues still? I've heard of people having theirs taken away

 No.57

Closest thing i could find

 No.58

>>41
this depends on the venue

>>57
glorious

 No.59

>>41
Do they ever get them back lmao

 No.60

>>59
no they eat them

 No.388

Not MikuExpo but yesterday I went to a con and recorded a bunch of Vocaloid cosplayers on Hi8. Unfortunately the recording's a bit fucked and with constant stutters due to my cam malfunctioning.

 No.389

>>388
Clean it, old camcorders get dirty all the time

 No.390

>>389
I have, it's still a little fucked and i'm not sure why. This is the first time it malfunctions in a while. It had the same problem last year but it magically fixed itself after i charged it.

 No.570

>>25
>viewfinder broke

 No.571

>>570
Maybe its this entire site that's cursed

 No.572

>>571
What sucks the most is that I don't think you can fix that unless you buy that exact same model or a similar one and swap the viewfinder. And at that point I'm just buying a new camcorder, rendering the broken one completely useless.

 No.573

 No.584

>>572
I gave in and bought another one and you won't believe this shit, it's broken too. It only turns on while charging and the playback is just white noise even on old tapes.

 No.585

>>584
Found a dude who repairs them. Will update if anything happens.

 No.1154

>>585
well?

 No.1155

>>1154
Dead, both of them

Your fortune: Mikudayooo-

 No.1156

I have a VHS-C camcorder of my mom's she had but I likely wont get chance to use it

 No.1157

File: 1773105008534.jpg(872.9 KB, 3000x3000, Game_Boy_Camera_7997.jpg)

I think the weirdest device you could record Miku on (or rather, take pictures of) would probably be a GB camera

 No.1388

>>1156
Well what's stopping you? Gotta ask for permission?

 No.1389

Really wish mine worked

 No.1391

>>1388
Aside from concern of it being broken or confiscated I haven't even tested if it works yet and I lack mode of transport because I never got a license and I also have bad social anxiety as well as discomfort with crowds and I have a lot going on currently that interferes in me being able to live a life.

 No.1394

>>1391
Fair enough they're unfortunately ready to break

 No.1395

>>1394
easy*

 No.1402

Which format is objectively superior? VHS or Hi8?

 No.1403

>>1402
I prefer Hi8

 No.1404

>>1402
Hi8 is more comparable to SVHS, while VHS is more comparable to 8mm. In both of these cases the 8mm formats are superior just cause they're way smaller and give basically the same picture quality and running time (VHS-C is much more limited)

 No.1405

>>1402
Objectively Hi 8 is better but honestly I would like to see Mikuexpo recorded on any type of old cam

 No.1406

Would be funny if someone whipped out a big old film camcorder instead of a these.

 No.1407

From what i understand you can bring any type of camera to most Mikuexpos right?

 No.1663

Seen Expo 2026 recorded on the PS Vita so far, no VHS/Hi8 unfortunately

 No.1666

>>1663
Maybe soon
