 No.106[Last 50 Posts]

Was inspired by that discussion about fan-made Miku/Vocaloid events to make a thread about fan events in general. Discuss past, present and future fan-made events such as conventions, concerts, etc related to Vocaloid. Event locations don't matter ITT, they can be in bumfuck Indonesia. Don't be rude to event organizers, they do their best to give us Miku & co.

 No.117

When are we getting a fan concert with Kaai Yuki?

 No.126

A group of Argentinian Vocaloid fans put together a team that organizes concerts called Vocaloid Medley and honestly it's shocking how good they are for unofficial events. Never been to one myself but damn they're good quality!. Attaching a video on the left.

 No.127

>>126
Oh dude, these guys held a concert at a convention in Uruguay last year and I went with a friend. Had a fucking blast. Afaik they've done some in Venezuela and even the UK. It saddens me that they probably won't do another one outside of Argentina this year but eh at least I went to a Miku concert in my lifetime.

 No.128

>>127
Samefag here. Part of me wishes I had a better phone so I could've recorded at least a bit of footage. I saw lots of people recording at the actual concert but could find nothing on youtube which kinda drives me nuts.

Honestly though it was not much different from what you linked. Setlist was more or less the same albeit shorter because after the concert there was a noodle eating contest (not joking btw).

 No.130

Those animations are just beautiful
It's funny how better they are compared to Vocamerica

 No.131

>>130
They used mocap for those, that's why they look so smooth. A while back they hosted a behind the scenes event. Again, I didn't go because it's in Argentina and that's not where I live.

 No.132

>>131
Oh yeah also the concert I went to didn't have dancers or the band but you think I cared about that? Hell no, I was just happy to be alive in that moment

I feel like this would be possible but only in Japan because the average western Vocaloid fan doesn't know half of these characters

Here's something for UK anons

 No.354

>>351
any UK anons going to this? also can somebody explain the IA/One thing?

 No.355

Yesterday i had a dream that some people from /leek/ had formed a dicksword server and used it to coordinate a fan-concert at a convention in New York (I'm not even from New York btw)
The setlist was mostly what you'd expect from one of Miku's early concerts except there was a song that sounded like something ScapegoatP would make and during it Miku was rubberbanding like in a videogame when your ping is too high. Anyway, Sena and Toriko were there but not the other leekaloids.

 No.500

I wouldn't say better than Miku Expo but they're definitely very high quality

 No.502

I am now in the mood to go to a fanmade event. Too bad they happen once in a lifetime where i live.

 No.503

Respect for including ECHO. Love how the crowd sang every word too.

 No.519

Chileanons, there will be a Vocaloid Medley a.k.a Virtual Stars concert in Chile soon.

i have recently became aware of the existence of vocaloid fan concerts in... roblox of all places, it seems like you join a game server and join a disc*rd voice channel to hear the music (to avoid copyright issues), it seems a bit silly but also fun

This looks incredible. Models and setlist are good. So are the stage setup and crowd energy

 No.857

>>856
Vocaloid Medley from Argentina was a bit better imo. I had the pleasure of seeing them live a couple years ago. Their models are original and incredibly well made, they have dancers who do the motion capture themselves and the setlist are typically a mix of classics and new songs which is always great.

 No.858

How the fuck does Argentina get these cool fanmade hologram shows and we get a LED screen with a purple pixel over Len's dick

Asia is starting to get those too though, not just the US

I hate to say it but if we want good fan events we need to make them. Part of the problem with burgerland specifically is that everything’s so spread out geographically

do you have any info on this one? who's organizing it?

I'm from argentina and never heard of this. But either way we're never getting a Mikuexpo here, let alone a fucking TetoLIVE, this is the closest thing

 No.929

>>928
Oh yeah this is painful lol. I respect the concept though, a full ENGloid concert. I feel like if they did this today it would be more successful than it was back then, the EN scene is a lot bigger now.

 No.930

>>929
How is the EN scene bigger now? Mostly just see the occasional overnight astroturfed 100k+ sub youtuber and then everyone moves on within a month for the next big song. Not as many fan creations anymore.

 No.931

>>927
She never made it public, but the reason why the whole situation happened was supposedly because the MMD modeller that was hired at the time essentially scammed Aki.

When you look at their past history, this lines up too. Adan, the modeller, previously got in hot water after people realized their UTAU was actually a Miku Port.

 No.932

>>931

Can you guys team up with Fig and Puzzle (or whoever owns 39chan right now) and make the concert /live/ couldn't make? I am half joking but it would be cool

 No.1963

>>1962
If /live/ was to make a concert i think the setlist should be decided in a separate thread, maybe with votes to prevent people from submitting stuff like +IMPALE and that one Oliver song. Because knowing this site the first reply would be someone suggesting one of the freaky songs or something unlistenable like Crushed Mary lel.

Some really good pics in that folder mate. It really feels like it could've been shot in the late 2000's at times but then you see the Hololive car and you're reminded that this was indeed shot just a few days ago.

It's fine I guess, but i'd appreciate it if you pointed people towards my channel https://www.youtube.com/@figamin since I was eventually planning on making my own upload where i go in more detail about the camera and why I wanted to record in this fashion. Alternatively I could put the raw footage up myself on my backup channel https://www.youtube.com/@figaminstream

that's fine, i uploaded it for easier access, and i did credit you in the description

Thank you figlemigle for recording "BRING IT ON" by GIGA, and also thank you Canadian anon and the rest of the Vocastation team for organizing this event. I wasn't able to go because i'm on the other side of the world but i've been to events like this one before. They bring a whole community together and create a beautiful atmosphere that you just can't get at any other type of event or concert. Here's to more Vocastation concerts.

No worries, you're good
Here's my uploads. I did an encode with a higher bitrate and properly scaled to square pixels so it should look a bit better, and I took pics for the thumbnails.

I'll try upscaling it 3x nearest neighbor (1920x1440) and see if that improves things

>upscaling minidv footage
i hope you don't use AI upscaling because it'll destroy the quality the same way it did with those 4K remasters of 90's music videos that are on youtube.

 No.1995

>>1993
This, don't AI upscale it. Just make the resolution higher in sony vegas or whatever you use to render.

he didnt say ai upscale

 No.2002

>>1993
>>1995
Not sure where you got the idea that i'd be using AI to upscale. It's just a set of ffmpeg options:

ffmpeg -i miku2.dv -vf "yadif=1,scale=1920:1440:flags=bicubic,format=yuv420p" -c:v libx264 -preset slow -crf 18 -profile:v high -level 4.1 -movflags +faststart -threads 0 -c:a aac -b:a 192k -ar 48000 miku2_3x.mp4

Youtube dosen't allow 60fps below 720p, and a bicubic filter would look better than whatever youtube is going to apply itself if I just did nearest neighbor (I did a test)

Highly doubt you guys are still reading this thread but in the off chance are you guys planning on doing any concerts outside Canada? Perhaps some place in the US since it's not too far away.
