Vocaloid is dominated by teens in the west, still. The conditions aren't going to be favorable to see more people take shots at organizing fan events until that changes.

So how long are they going to be using LED screens for? I know that no one goes to these shows for the hologram technology but the music and the energy but come on, holograms are what they are most known for. Fanmade concerts use much cheaper equipment and yet they still give us holograms instead of screens.

'24 was the first US tour in six years and the first one after the corona swell, so it was always destined to be an all eyes thing even before people pissed themselves over the screen. There hasn't ever really been anything unique about any specific Expo show, especially now that they are repeating venues regularly, beyond "incidents" like that hammed up for socials. I've personally gotten fatigued with people trying to mythologize events based on a couple tweets the same way you get rubbernecking for a lot of vocal synth stuff.
Most of that shit honestly pales to people dealing drugs at Digital Stars '16 though.

Admittedly, I think only 2024 NA had that much chaos. Though I think it was necessary to get people's minds off the screen and have a good time. 2026's didn't have as much. At most maybe a few notable things, but the most anyone did was try to repeat gags from 2024, excluding the Vancouver chaos, because I don't think anyone expected that night to happen.

It's not unusual for these companies to do concerts at random cons. Both AHS and 1ST PLACE have done it before. AHS had an entire European tour that took place in random ass cons.
