 No.767[Last 50 Posts]

Some producers don't remain Vocaloid producers forever, Hachi is an example. What are some retired VocaPs that you miss?.

 No.768

>>767
For me it's Momocashew/Cassie Wei, one of the most important Oliver producers. She's still active as a musician as the lead singer of Mili but she's been retired from the Vocaloid scene for nearly a decade and also has a child now.

 No.851

Koronba

 No.1007

Does supercell still make music?

 No.1187

Technically not retired but i miss him so much

 No.2292

I just remembered that YY was one of the most popular Vocaloid songs that Youtube would throw in my recs before I stopped caring about Vocaloid (that would change years later after i discovered Inabakumori). I decided to look into 23.exe a while back and found out he released an album called CLIPPING GAMING in 2021 and after that he completely vanished without even leaving a trace.

So what happened to this guy? Did he silently retire? busy with life? died?.

 No.2300

Guys I think we just lost CircusP

 No.2301

>>2300
Unfortunate if true. He is the only big producer left still making original songs with the English vocaloids instead of succumbing to SV. At least we got that Piko version of Breathe i guess.

Nijisanji is aids so part of me feels a bit bad for him, but i hope he still manages to have a good time as a vtuber.

 No.2303

>>2301
It's unknown whether he has fully retired or will continue to make music like DEMONDICE/Mori Calliope. One thing's for certain though, this IS CircusP.

 No.2304

>>2300
>Nijisanji
Oh no…

 No.2309

>>2300
YOU'RE FUCKING KIDDING.

 No.2311

>>2300
Wtf

"go to hell" is basic. "I hope your favorite English vocaloid producer joins nijisanji EN" is smart. it's possible. it's terrifying

 No.2312

He's not quitting vocaloid though is he?

 No.2319

>>2300
Was never a fan of his music but Nijisanji lmao. That's a fate worse than death.

 No.2465

Does anybody know what happened to apfel note, the creator of Paris Cinema Girl? They made two songs, one of which was included in Project DIVA and then completely vanished(?)
https://vocadb.net/Ar/15642

 No.2548

>>2300
So what happened in the end? Did CircusP retire?

 No.2851

I miss Kaoling a lot. She really was the master of Vocafolk and now there aren't that many producers who still compose in that genre, let alone any promiment ones.

 No.2853

>>2548

Time will tell if he keeps making Vocaloid music but Niji EN seems to be his current dayjob. His last work seems to be Electric Weekend Zone which was a Sekai comm and Flavor Foley collab.

People say he's a music making machine tho so I don't think he's leaving the scene anytime soon.

 No.2896

>>2853
can somebody explain to me wtf flavor foley is? is it a producer? a circrush style group? a record label?

 No.2900

>>2896
Flavor Foley is a producer circle consisting of three people: JamieP, Vane Lily, and Ricedeity. JamieP and Vane Lily are independent Vocaloid producers in their own right, with Ricedeity being a prominent Vocaloid artist. Flavor Foley is the name they use when the three of them collaborate.

 No.7780

kagomeP :(

 No.7786

>>767
Machigerita. VocaRock is such a rare genre that it's hard to find anything that sounds similar, even if a lot of Vocaloid, especially early Vocaloid, is similarly quite dark.

 No.7834

>>7786
I wouldn't say it's rare but its definitely less common nowadays and a lot of rock prods have switched to either pop (PinocchioP, Neru) or rock but with poppier structures (Deco)

 No.7838

>>7834
Good point, I admittedly don't really like Deco's modern work.

 No.7854

oh so this is how i find out that whoo is retired

Yeah, he's been retired for a couple of years now. Apparently he was supposed to release an album as his last, but it was never released. I would love to give it a listen, I've already listened to All Things Must Pass for the millionth time now.

this guy is going in here too. some context: Pusu was a composer for TUYU until he was arrested for atempted murder breaking up the TUYU group and now he made a letter saying he deleted everything because the current vocaloid industry is trash and you can't get views unless you make a joke song with Teto dancing (follow trends)

Also fuck Pusu, if that's him I'm not surprised he tried coming back. Only the dead leave forever.

 No.8021

>>8013
How did this guy even get out of prison? Was he even prosecuted for it?

...also is it wrong to kinda agree with him? I won't say that the industry is dead or complete garbo but it feels kinda bland for the past year or so anyways. Nothing terrible but nothing too impressive. Maybe I'm too stubborn and cynical.

 No.8022

i messed up some things, yes this is a random guy who uses AI art and it is venting about current vocaloid BUT the TUYU account replied to him saying something like "you're gross never come back" wich COULD be Pusu who allegedly got arrested for attempted murder and caused the TUYU group to stop making music

Is it too early to say picdo?

 No.11267

I will always miss Kururingo/Marui Yukiyoshi. I'm sad that she felt the need to take down all her songs. It's been so long since she disappeared and there were a ton of rumors about why she left that I don't even think there's an official reason. The biggest theories is that either a fan of hers tried to take an attempt on her life or she got harassed by fans. Don't take this as fact but I remembered there being something about "poisonous marshmallows" so maybe anons her harassing her via that Japanese Marshmallow website where people can send you questions? Anyways it sucks and I miss her

 No.16340

I miss Wataame. He was one of the first few producers who introduced me to my wife with Four Seasons Song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g--Qmi048Vw). He left with a goodbye song at least.

 No.16348

>>15070
Crusher isn't 100% retired. They just have been making and prioritizing original, non-Vocaloid music now. I feel like they could come back with a "song of the year" if they wanted to.

 No.16351

>>16348
So he became like Hachi and ryo then?

 No.16352

>>16351
Hachi and Ryo are no longer involved with the scene but she still makes Vocaloid stuff once in a while

 No.16366

>>16338
The EN side is a bit stagnant right now imo. A lot of the popular songs sound the same. We would benefit from having him back.

 No.16845

>>7780
I know he's co-producing for Nunununu now but god dammit I miss him

 No.16973

The impact Tohma has had on Vocaloid despite being active for only three years is crazy. Envy Catwalk, Skeleton Orchestra and Lilia, Hanged Girl in the Haunted House, etc... Apparently he's under a new alias now "Gyoson" but it's not Vocaloid. Wish him the best

 No.17106

Does Mochiutsune count as retired? I miss him

 No.17107

>>16973
You could say the same about Koronba. The impact he had on UTAU with just a few songs was insane and it even spawned a subgenre of Koronba inspired producers.
