https://files.catbox.moe/4oqj7h.mp3I do wish I was clever enough to write lyrics that weren't basically "I have no idea what to write" and even if some of this is self-inflicted, I don't feel like I'd be writing more clever lyrics in eigo
like,
>mi sona ala e ni tan pakala mi; taso mi kalama e ni:translates badly but it's
>I don't know this because I screwed up, but I'm singing this:which loops back into itself, the second ni starts a continuation phrase against the start of it because I'm trying to be clever but I am also feeling incredibly un-clever at the same time.

I kinda wish I knew how to get the speech portion to sound better with this, I wish I had more pitch control with it, since I added straight speaking bits. I could probably edit it in post, which I'm already doing since the program doesn't like the fact that "a" in Toki Pona is a separate single word sound and it either makes a giant gap or tries to blend it against the surrounding words depending on how I try and fix it.

This question is for those of you who have your music up on Spotify, iTunes, etc. What distributor do you use?
I've heard bad things about Distrokid, Antijoy, etc. Back in the day I would use Amuse (which is now paid) and Routenote which is free. Amuse was alright but they wouldn't let me submit very short songs such as album interludes. With Routenote I remember they wanted me to make useless changes to my cover artwork, for example I remember one of my singles had an album cover with noise and they rejected it based on that alone. Any suggestions?.
No.7698
>>7695Been rec'd a distributor called CDBaby but from what I understand you gotta pay 10 dollars per single/album which means if I were to upload a single it'd cost 10 then if I drop the album it's 10 more, making it 20 dollars, which is lame. I'd rather pay 10 dollars yearly with the ability to cancel my subscription or something.

>>7698>>7695Don't use any Western ones right now. CDBaby, since they are heavily against AI and want nothing on it, even if it's a Vocal synth.
I haven't been able to get too much out of her, especially since she's been going through some shit, but I've been talking to Takoyaki since she gave a warning on Twitter. She's been writing an article, but to summarize everything we've discussed, Western distributors started using AI Vocal detection services. Some services might be okay with vocal synths, but because of these new detection services, it will take up more time, effort, and money just to distribute using a Western service.
For options, she said there were 2: either we all start transitioning to Japanese distribution services as long as they take non-JP bank info or PayPal, or an existing or new western distribution service starts making partnerships with vocal synth companies to make distribution more accessible for us. Especially since some companies only allow commercial use of their products through specific services.
The only one I know of that works for us is Big Up, and they are free, but hard to use. We're kinda screwed otherwise though.

Honestly the whole mess would be easily avoided if someone started a distributor specifically for overseas Vocaloid producers, make life significantly easier for everyone. Closest thing we got so far is that one new streaming platform project but that’s a single platform and they don’t distribute to others from the looks of things.
