No.21202
>>21195And they'd be right. People only hate it because of Mesmerizer clones and Xitter infighting but those things can easily be ignored.
No.21221
>>21195Silver age, I think. It's too early to say what will have a lasting impact when concerts right now are full of the early hits.
No.21222
>>21195I'm going to be honest, there isn't a lot of memorable songs for me. Maybe I'm just becoming jaded.
No.21223
>>21222I think that has more to do with the fact that there's songs coming out every 10 minutes and a lot of them top the charts while the rest fade into obscurity. Things were slower in the 2010s.
>>21221>concerts right now are full of the early hits. This, but also the problem is that the majority of big songs right now are Teto and you know damn well there will never be something like Magical Mirai with Teto (unless it's fanmade).
No.21224
>>21223Things were slower but also more centralized. The nico rankings really helped solidify a set of producers and songs as iconic.
No.21225
>>21224I remember Vocarank back in the day but i heard they stopped doing those
No.21229
>>21221>early hitsI mean, what do you expect? The old songs are still popular even with the newgens. It's the same thing that happens with 90s bands that fill their setlists with all their 90s singles. People consider them timeless classics.
But i get your point, I think there's a couple songs I'd consider classics from this era but ironically none of them involve the cryptonloids outside of Miku (and even then they're usually duets).
No.21232
The one 'classic' from the 2020s (if you can call it that) that I want to hear live is Heat Abnormal but I've accepted that it's never gonna happen.
No.21233
>>21224I'm curious what people here would consider iconic today. I'm of course referring specifically to newgen producers.
No.21235
>>21233You're gonna hate me for this one but Mesmerizer. It basically changed Vocaloid for the entirety of this decade, not sure if for better or for worse, but you can't deny its impact.
No.21236
>>21232Agreed but Iyowa in general is an iconic producer this decade
No.21238
>>21235Anon said producers not songs but yeah 32ki unintentionally defined this decade with Mesmerizer and i think people do look forward to his new stuff as evidenced by his recent songs
No.21239
>>21238I like 32ki, but people only look forward to his music that includes some variation of the Triple Baka squad. His other stuff is good too but everybody just wants MikuTeto kuso and forgets about his other songs
No.21246
>>21223TetoLive is a thing but it's small and only held in Japan plus I heard it was expensive.

>>21225The usual uploader (syudou) is still having internet issues. He was scheduled to get fiber to his home but because of some ISP issue, but I think he's been stuck using a dog slow satellite connection. He's apparently compiling data still.
>>21246It's really fun, in my experience. The more intimate scale instead of sitting in a dome fish bowl or a multi-floor arena is like getting a little bit of Mikufes or early Mikupa flavor. Half the fun of these events are doing the calls and it's better to have a crowd that knows them well instead of a large crowd that knows them somewhat or not at all.
No.21256
>>21253Did you go to Teto Live? (The actual concert not the DJ event). I saw footage of it and the room looked very small and crowded, which is usually uncomfortable.
No.21259
>>21256I was, though I was also at Teto Sonic. Japan lives aren't really made for comfort to begin with so I don't really pay much mind to more than view angles and sound, and if the drink tickets are rip-off (some have started charging extra for more than water). Duo Music Exchange is definitely small and not usually used for idol style performances, big floor columns as well. The junkiness is sort of why I forge the comparison to Mikufes at all even though Studio Coast was a much nicer venue (RIP), but what I really appreciated most about Teto Live was that the band had equal presence to Teto.
You'll probably find this year's more agreeable. Zepp Shinjuku is actually one of the better Zepps in terms of sound staging and has kusoed floors, so it's not total flatlands at usual junk like Makuhari. Just sort of a bog standard box. The fact that they did move up to a Zepp though means they must have been really confident about attendance.
