The old Teto thread is locked so I can’t post the Teto pic in the old Teto thread so I’m making a new Teto thread so I can post Teto and the other anons can post Teto in the new Teto thread
Teto
Tet-teto

 No.279

We don't need meme threads. At the very least discuss the voicebank or songs featuring it. Otherwise I'll lock it.

The first Teto thread initially got the pass because it was made around the time the site launched.

Apparently the embed demands I only use YouTube dot com links and not the youtu dot be links? I’m not sure if my mobile is just broken or I’m stupid
It might be both

Y'know, Teto Territory like Teto's character song! We can't forget that! (I've also listened to the SynthV one, but after listening to this for so many years, it just kinda… Has to stay my favorite, I guess!)

The current Vocaloid renaissance era would have still happened due to Sekai (the fandom is way different in Japan). But we would have less Teto songs because even UTAU Teto benefited from SV's popularity.

What did you all think the first time you heard Teto SynthV

 No.2339

>>2338
Probably gonna sound like a bitter vocaboomer faggot saying this.

I was pretty excited when i heard her for the first time, especially considering how much people wanted her to become a commercial synth. But over the years i've sort of gotten sick of her. Not that i dislike SV Teto, she's one of the best voicebanks on the engine, but i've heard her so much now that i'm starting to miss the robotic voice and the creative tuning of the original UTAU Teto i grew up with.

I don't get this with Miku because to me all of her voicebanks sound the same but the moment V6 Miku comes out i'm probably gonna miss her too.

 No.2340

>>2339
I would like to add that i do enjoy some SV Teto songs (Babel is an absolute masterpiece of a song) and i'm glad she's popular again. Also we have people who can't afford SV making songs with UTAU Teto which is always nice.

My only friends were other teenagers aged 15-18 because they were the only people as autistic about anime and vocaloid as i was (and still am). Also we were just friends, like any other friend group, before anyone attempts to twist my words.

I don't think they'll ever do another vippaloid after Teto, they did her because she's always been the face of utauloids. But yeah i won't lie Momo would have been cool. I'm glad it wasn't Ritsu, I'm not ready for Ritsu discourse in the current decade.

 No.5078

>>5076
Ritsu’s whole thing is how strong the voice is (ERROR cover etc.) so an SV1 port would’ve been a bummer. I’m still disappointed with how soft “powerful” AI voices are. Maybe SV2 will change things.
I don’t see why more vipperloids are out of the question - if I was Kanru Hua I’d be begging them for their business given how successful Teto is. I would guess copyright and VP availability are bottlenecks.

Same anon as above but i personally dislike it because of the vibrato. If it wasn't on every fukken note it'd be more tolerable. Autotune also somehow makes her sound worse and it's one of the reasons i prefer covers of BIRDBRAIN over the original song.

 No.17845

>>17844
Lol i feel like the vibrato is a result of SV Teto being a 1:1 replica of Oyamano Mayo's voice. If you've heard her regular singing voice in PMP she sounds identical to the voicebank and has that vibrato.

 No.17877

 No.17881

>>17837
Oh absolutely. I like her when she has manual tuning, but the only person I've heard do that is RIProducer. Xitoo obviously tunes her in places, but leaves others up to autotune. Still, I'd sooner listen to that than someone who uses SynthV only to be lazy.
>>17844
Jamie already works in a genre I usually don't like, but I think the worst thing about her music is just that she doesn't seem to tune Teto at all, or at least uses unedited autotune most of the time.

 No.17886

>>17881
>she doesn't seem to tune Teto at all, or at least uses unedited autotune most of the time
She does manually tune, but she basically forces a pre-AI Vocaloid tuning style on SynthV, afaik. So it has a bit of a rigid quality to it.

 No.17895

>>17886
From experience you can make her sound slightly better by auto-tuning her on a different voicebank and then adjusting the tuning yourself manually. DAW effects like pitch correction and chorus can also help the vocals stand out.

Tetobros what are your thoughts on Jam2go? I mostly ignored his stuff at first because SV Teto but I listened to some of his recent songs and they're really good. His Teto tuning doesn't feel generic to me like most SV Teto songs.

They technically do. I like Jamie Paige but its clear that she attracts a lot of the annoying people to the fandom alongside Mesmerizer being picked up by content farms. The kind of people who make "twitter meme but [anime character]" images and videos. Thats kind of how I felt about Miku for a while with getting non-stop bombarded with people saying "haha mIKU pIpEbOmb" or "NO MIKU GRAB MY HAND" garbage that was never really funny imo. These people were persistent and it was kind of clear they were just in it for the memes or "look 2000s character haha". The annoying ones will go away eventually, and if not, we can ignore them. But man, are they sure annoying, aren't they?

I do deal with them better than I do proseki people because at least they somewhat focus on vocaloid.

It's a tossed bag, I will say sekai fan behaviors are worse overall throughout history but the common thread here is twitter, tumblr, and other social media sites promoting lynching of anyone who doesn't conform to their worldview and expecting the creators of the songs they like to follow suit. I do think many of these toxic people will break out of their cycle once realizing how harmful their POV is or if the attitudes they showcase simply become less socially acceptable.

Regardless of them, I will always love Teto first and foremost before their behaviors effect my conscious on how I view Teto.

If all things come to pass, then this too will come to pass. Best not to focus on it and instead promote the things you find good and worthwhile in regards to Teto. If they come after that, then the next great Teto project will still be there waiting. Best not to take it seriously and let it effect your perception of your favorites.

To be completely fair, I do think that a lot of these people being new, annoying and unfunny is purely by virtue of them being children. None of those traits can really be helped at their age.

Also, I honestly had no clue that 'Teto fan' was a distinct category of person who people had any widespread contempt for until I started lurking here. I guess I kinda get it because of the trendy brainrot-y connotations that she's had post-Mesmerizer. I've been kinda actively hoping for a Teto revival since the late 2010s so I probably just have a far more favorable opinion of everything surrounding her success too and I don't really feel swayed by the cringe.

It's not just here. I've seen people lump these "Teto fans" in with Vocaloid fans, giving general Vocaloid fans a bad rep.

he's one of those producers that you can tell hasn't had much experience with vocaloid before but i feel like that's one of the things that makes him good. i like it when non-vocaloid producers pick up vocaloid because they typically just do their own thing without being influenced by whatever's trendy within the vocaloid community itself.

I'm probably just not engaged enough on social media to see much conflict going on. My perspective is likely bound to be lesser compared to someone more tuned in.

His stuff is great, I like how he's a professional that still feels like a member of the fandom. I'm surprised he still isn't considered a mainstream producer in the west (he is in China).

 No.27219

That may get you blocked on some sites because Google bot is blocked on some sections or unreachable in others exposing it as a spoofed user agent so you need to do a site specific user agent change. I know this can be done in Firefox in the config but I am not sure if it can in Chrome.

I use Grayjay and Pipepipe on mobile. It fails for some that the video itself is region locked but it works for others. I linked to their downloads on the thread I made on the topic >>19614 though I have not tried the desktop Grayjay to see how that does though because my computer sucks.

They’re a circle. Most anything business wise is handled by CFM.

Hm, what about AHS. They made SV Teto.

 No.27339

>>27335
That's not really a correct representation, CFM is the point of commercial contact and signs off on requests from Twindrill. Twindrill still produces and coordinates licenses, especially more these days on the merch end.

 No.27346

>>27337
AHS is really just devs and some merch licensing as well. Nothing beyond that.

 No.27713

I've seen someone hating on Teto for getting too much merch lately, and it made me do a bit of research.
If we compare her with other loids who got a popularity spike, yeah, the amount of merch Teto is getting is above average.
But if we compare her to other modern "meme anime girls" like Goldship, Ame-chan, and Neco-Arc, we can see that she is REALLY below average

 No.27715

>>27713
If anything I feel like she's seriously lacking in figurines for how popular she is. It's really funny to me how even Zunda's (non GK) figurine offerings are on equal standing to Teto's if not surpassing it entirely.
