 No.2742

this thread is to discuss lost media regarding vocaloid, UTAU and any vocal synthesizer.

this thread is for anything that embarks the topic of lost media, such as cancelled voicebanks, songs, song covers, up to even content such as phone apps, games, or even fanarts. whatever you want to discuss about!

to this day i cry because ring got cancelled, although at least we have a fanmade voicebank of her.

This is probably not lost media so i apologize if its the wrong theread but i have been trying to find this sexual UTAU song about vaginal infections in English (it might've been a cover). The thumbnail featured a girl with purple hair making a disgusted face. Pic related is what i remember it looking like. I also remember the tuning being insanely realistic for UTAU standards, i'm talking SynthV levels of realism.

Found this neat little site where they archive discontinued/lost voicebanks from UTAU and other engines. They even have some of the controversial voicebanks like Koronba4-Gou and NITTON.

Many years ago I know a song featuring Luka (and Miku as backing vocals) with some 100 views. It's called Rebellion with Megurine Luka and the artist named themselves Girldemo (after Angel Beats! probably). I still remember its melody.
The only thing I have of it right now is a dead Youtube link. It used to have a NicoNico link but it was already dead when I found it back then I think.

I actually still have a copy of it in my old PC at my parent's home. I brought a copy when I moved countries but I lost this one when I bricked my new PC (I have since made it a habit to back up all important files because of this). I don't know why I didn't keep the file in the flash drive I bought but it seems like I didn't (I think I was planning on using it for something else and it had no space). I actually lost my entire downloaded playlist, except the ones that featured IA because I had always brought that playlist with me on my phone. I have not redownloaded anything since then, but I eventually discovered a few years ago that this song had vanished completely from the internet, and I felt guilty since then.
The only way for me to recover this is to somehow recover it from my old PC at my parent's house, which I think is also dead from the last few times I tried to turn it on. I should try some data recovery service next time but I haven't gotten the chance to, and there are no guarantees that will even work.
Lukabros, if you are reading this, I am so sorry for not taking better care of her. I definitely don't deserve her especially after I had abandoned her in favor of IA despite the fact that Luka was actually the one that got me into Vocaloid, though she was never my wife and I was always just a casual fan of her. Still, I wish I wasn't this retarded with my files.

Digging deeper, it looks like I found the NND link, but according to Web Archive it was at least accessible in 2021. So maybe I was wrong about the NND link being dead when I first found it (I found it around 2014-2015).

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to watch it through Web Archive.
At least it looks like the producer is still somewhat active. He goes by Re:N now.

There's a few lost songs by a producer known as z_grdm, previously Poetfog and Chiptune123. Most songs by them at least have the instrumentals uploaded, however two songs remain "lost" even by the producer: Nothing/何もない and Pity Party. I have the on-vocal for Pity Party, however I lack the PV, which featured Utatane Piko in Tone Rion's outfit switching from Pink/Yellow/Green/Blue on a blue curtain background. Its melody was referenced by the producer in a later song, "Eve": https://youtu.be/3sktEtgXzg8?si=Hng5JGM4VP_uzl3E which is similar in meaning
何もない had a black background with a sketch of Gakupo with white lines
I should add, I'm probably the third in line for who got a copy of Pity Party, if it originated from who I think it did, I'm surprised it never ended up on their reupload channel while that existed.
I've reuploaded Pity Party's MP3 here: https://files.catbox.moe/52b3vt.mp3
I was hesitant about uploading it for a while because I don't want to incite anything, for MANY reasons, but I feel like keeping lost media preserved is important.

You could try getting in touch with the producer, maybe they still have it

I would try if Xitter didn't gatekeep it's DMs with Premium. He didn't enable the setting to receive DMs from everyone, because that's not the default setting.

 No.14676

>>14670
They do that now?

 No.14678

>>14676
It says I need to get verified to send him a message but you need Premium to get verified. It's not just him either, so I'm thinking that's the default setting.

OP here and also someone who's into lost media. if there's a producer you used to follow and don't remember the songs they made, you can use nicolog.jp and introduce the sm/nm niconico link code of the song you want. this will bring the uploader and its videos, even if removed (although not accessible, only technical information)

>>14681
as for youTube there's this website called youtube techrobo, you can input a link and it can fetch if it's archived somewhere, though it mostly brings up data and not the video (since archive.org doesn't really tend to archive videos most of the time)

 No.14697

>>14681
I'm one of the anons you replied to, the producer only used YouTube unfortunately, but one of their first songs managed to get mirrored and preserved on Bilibili of all places by an Oliver superfan

So, does anybody have Hitori Kanawo's art now that his Xitter is completely gone?
I can find some of his stuff on Danbooru and I know some of his Sexy Minus promo art got post here before the video came out. But the recent stuff is lost, gone from the internet.

 No.25608

>>25597
Why did he delete everything

 No.25610

>>25608
I would assume its because of the harassment but artists in general have a tendency to delete everything for no reason, especially Japanese ones.

 No.27349

I recently saw a this video that talked about a way of finding lost media from cache's that did not properly delete and some program had been developed to search it and they have a form you can fill out to make requests.
https://sindexmon.github.io/decache

Also here is a Japanese internet archive site that may hold some stuff Wayback Machine from Internet Archive does not. Looks like the site has existed since 2012 when I checked whois info.
https://gyo.tc/
Also available at this url which has existed since 2005 so it may be their archives go back that far. However it also appears they have a paid feature for private archives so some things might not be accessible.
https://megalodon.jp

Hopefully this helps someone.
