How do we make her popular?

 No.2586

more cunnyposting

 No.2587

Quick reminder that Zako could've been a Rana song but since nobody cares for her we ended up with that mediocre Neru version

 No.2588

i like the neru version, but rana's voice would of fit so well… i wish she were more popular

>How do we make her popular?
By learning japanese, literally. Western vocaloid fans should know that this is the only option available if you want to popularize a forgotten 'loid and yes that includes non-JP 'loids too.

Japanese fans don't listen to English songs and English fans are not too different in that regard. The only exception is SAWTOWNE, somehow, but do you think SAWTOWNE will ever make a song with an obscure 'loid like our beloved memegirl Sonika? Forget about it. Be the change you want to see /leek/.

This. If you love your favorite wholoid learn Japanese and make a song with them.

4pbp but Japanese people do listen to other English songs aside from Sawtowne's.
Butcher Vanity was very popular in Japan and so was the Vimalion character that came with it, some of CircusP and Crusher's early works were also popular there, most notably Circus Monster and ECHO.
EN songs with JP voicebanks typically don't perform well though so yeah you will need to learn JP.

 No.4438

Is an upgrade possible at this point? I miss her

 No.4439

>>4438
UNI got one so yeah probably

 No.4445

I have a LOT of legal and pirated wholoids, most of the legal ones are JP asides from Bruno, Tonio, and Big Al. I can verify this will probably help and you should not only learn Japanese, but engage with Japanese fans in respectful ways. It could be different now, but about 3-4 years ago before I nuked my Twitter I had a lot of Japanese mutuals who were some of the coolest people. Not worth having an account, though, especially after certain community and non-community incidents.

We got Uni, Una, Galaco (V6), Yukari (V6), Miki, and Kiyoteru, as a result I think it's absolutely possible.

 No.4447

>>4445
Honestly you're better off not mentioning your location and just saying that you're a foreigner, especially if you're American.
>I think it's absolutely possible
So far Galaco, Iroha and UNI have been the most surprising to me. I'd say that we'll get one eventually but I'm not sure if it will be this year.

 No.4454

>>4447
I agree! At least it's a pleasant surprise to see those 3 back.
I wish we'd get SeeU SynthV, but that one is actually impossible in a way few other revivals are.
We aren't getting Yohio either, but he was planned at one point. Sad.

 No.4461

>>4454
>that one is actually impossible
Not really, the people behind UNI said that there's a possibility if UNI sells well

Can't find the post on twitter but it was posted on the news thread a while back >>2226

Bring her back again

You don't need to learn a different language to get your favorite 'loid to become popular, you just need to be a good producer and have a music video that has more to it than just a sliding PNG. Butcher Vanity got popular this way. Literally no one gave a shit about Yi Xi before it but ever since the music video she's become a fan favorite.

 No.6661

>>6658
You also don't need to make Japanese 'loids sing in Japanese

When are we getting a popular song with Rana

this is my introduction to Rana, she made this song actually good that's crazy

 No.9234

I wish I could go back in time and tell them to use Rana for this song instead. It would've been the best possible outcome! Go, Rana-chan, Go!!

 No.9918

Any clue who or what "Rana46664" is? I keep seeing it in Rana song playlists and I can't tell if it's someone's username or another name to refer to Rana.

back when rana got released for V3, the only way to her was through a japan-exclusive magazine through a ticket. every version of rana had a serial code that meant the number of its buyer, which is why some old covers have her name as "Rana00777", "Rana46664", "Rana00042", "Rana73331", etc.

due to this limited system, she was hard to buy outside of japan, so people cracked her software. there are some rumours saying her V3 stopped its distribution because of piracy, which is why her V4 was available for anyone to purchase
