It's crazy that they all just got discontinued like that due to PFX shutting down
I had hopes for Maghni AI but until I see actual progress i'm not too excited

I'll do anything for Oliver and Fukase to make a revival. I feel like as soon as either of them get a new voicebank release there'll be a lot of English producers who are sentimental enough about them to make a solid wave of new originals. Although it would also be nice if people also just returned to these older less fancy VBs like they do with UTAU Teto for the sake of the unique artificial sound.
No.25510
>>25509Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don’t think the English scene is going to change much with Oliver and Fukase, especially since Fukase has the strict licensing that is once again active.

>>25510Never knew about the licensing issue until I just Googled it. The more I learn about voicebank licenses the more I realize just how little any given vocal synth's relevancy is actually dictated by their popularity and fanfare. The dissonance between demand and supply is so surreal.
No.25518
>>25517Fukase's licensing issues are kind of a meme in the Vocaloid community. Po-uta also has the same license curse and you can't use him to make songs about "feminine hygiene".
No.25519
>>25511This is why Gackpo hasn’t gotten a V6 yet.
>>25513There was no plans afraid. This goes for Oliver as well despite what it may seem like. Early on it was hard to figure out what rights VocaTone had with the characters, so despite having plans for a project with Oliver early on, it was not for a voicebank. With what happened with Yohio, it was just the nail in the coffin. What I can say is that a year or two ago they seemed to be reconsidering based on a few tweets on personal accounts but nothing came from it. At least with Oliver it’s just a matter of Maghni getting finished now.
>>25518Admittedly the feminine hygiene thing, as funny as it is, is pretty reasonable because I don’t think Porter wants his voice to be used for a topic he doesn’t really have authority on.
No.25521
>>25519I could understand not wanting his voice used for NSFW songs and such but feminine hygiene is so oddly specific that it's funny

>>25519Do we have any AI voicebanks based on popular singers?
No.25532
>>25530We have AI voicebanks based on seiyuus that sing such as GUMI and Koharu Rikka, but as for actual singers (without counting utaite) I can only think of Po-uta, who isn't even Japanese.

>>25554Companies are afraid of taking risks these days so if I had to guess they probably don't want to lose money. ENGloids are already a niche market. Not to mention that Zero-G's relationship with Yamaha soured after V5 and the unexpected cancellation of Sonika V4.
No.25586
>>25530Not going to say po-uta because Porter is more a producer that sings haha. Really if you mean celebs in that sense, don’t really have that many that we are aware of. There’s a few micro ones on SynthV but majority of non-Utau banks on V6 are voice actors as per the usual.
No.25587
>>25586Porter is hardly a celeb but he's been singing since his first album so idk why you wouldn't classify him as a singer
No.25589
>>25554Fees across popular vocal synths are too expensive for them pretty much. They were considering one but that was years ago and is likely no longer going to happen.
>>25556Surprisingly, conversations I’ve had with others tell me a different story. Some people had been told by Yamaha that they should reach out to zero-g in regards to their projects. So despite what it looks like on the outside, they actually do still have a relationship, even if these days it is just buying new stock.

No.25592
>>25587Again, it’s mostly the production work. Not talking down of course, I love Porter haha, but yeah, he doesn’t sing in every song and there’s still that good chunk where his voice is edited in production. He can sing, but it’s just his production I’d say speaks more about his talents. It’s really more a matter of opinion but it’s really just I’d say he’s one aspect more than the other.
