https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=563696220You can see some odd shading on the chin in this video.
>amateurish mixI would call it minimalist. I feel like there is a stylistic throughline between his early and later work.

>>19852Astrophysics is the obvious pick and his synth-pop Miku covers are probably the closest you're gonna get in terms of sounding like Ctrl Ult Delete.
Notsofelix / Almostfelix has a similar memetic energy, but his music does not sound like Ult. He does have Teto a cappella covers on his second channel that remind me of Ult's earliest videos.
Honestly Beau Jordan if you want originals. There are a lot of similarities between Ult/Jordan's early and later work. However he also went in a more synthwave and hyperpop direction, and there's only like two songs with Miku.
>>19877>mekalotonI listened to their stuff based on this recommendation. Ctrl Ult Delete's sound is not just electronic, it's specifically that sparse '80's synth-pop sound. Corpse Astronomy is really good though.

I think I'm gonna give up trying to find music that sounds like Ult through VocaDB. The tags I tried (synth-pop, new wave, and synthwave) are all full of stuff that I'm not looking for, and excluding genres doesn't really help. A song search with the trance tag and Hatsune Miku as the artist is probably your best shot (not as relevant, but the techno tag is also horribly misused).

>>20497>>20500Astrophysics has made originals. It's just that they are in more niche genres that do not have broad appeal. I've listened to some of his non-vocal-synth music, and I get the impression that he is not interested in making contemporary popular music.

>>20419I found a Hatsune Miku remix that completely changes the genre of the song, similar to what Ctrl Ult Delete did sometimes, but it's pop punk not synth pop. The original is R&B:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH398xAYpZA>>22595There's also some stuff on SoundCloud that is not on YouTube:
https://soundcloud.com/ctrlultdelete/windmills-of-your-mind-unfinishedhttps://soundcloud.com/beaujordan/week-without-you-miley-cyrus-coverI guess you can also search for techno-pop on VocaDB in addition to synth-pop, new wave, and synthwave, but good luck finding anything that sounds like Ult.

If you do, please post it here.
<infodump>In English, techno-pop is synonymous with synth-pop, and it specifically refers to pop music with synthesizers that was popular in the 1980s. Assuming that I understand correctly, in Japan, techno-pop is the more common term, and it has a broader definition, including more styles of pop and electronic music. However, I do not know the specifics, and I'm not entirely convinced that it even is a different genre, despite having its own article on Japanese Wikipedia, and a separate tag on VocaDB. Notably, RYM does not treat techno-pop as another genre. RYM does list Techno kayō as its own genre, which is basically Japanese synth-pop with idols.

The 3D render is kinda grainy, it probably needs more samples, but I'm not an expert. Maybe it's a work in progress and Ult's rendering something for a video.
