From around The Man Machine album all the way to present day, they did sometimes present as "robots" on stage and did sometimes use vocoders to sound like such. That is, when herr Ralf or herr Karl weren't singing.

This thread is for artists who present as robots and maybe use vocoders or synths although they themselves are real people, probably should have clarified that in the OP sorry

My favorite song from them is actually a feature (vidrel) but they have a few songs where they actually sing (Harder Better Faster Stronger being the most popular of those).

I remember getting this "Compressorhead" band in my youtube recommendations many years ago. It's a metal band made up entirely of robots, real ones, not guys in robot costumes like Daft Punk. They apparently have played live shows too.

Always wondered how the hell these work. Clearly the instruments they play are real, so does a computer just sends midi signals to the robot itself or something?
